Hmmmm, no it isn’t bad to say. Music is subjective, just like art. Me, I personally disagree. While Morissette is a good singer in her own right, she can’t compete with Andra. Andra’s original of the song reaches down into your heart and deep into your soul. I have to close my eyes and ride the wave her voice brings. It’s pure emotion! No cover has done this and I don’t think one ever will. Morissette attempts it, but she’s hitting those early Aguilera notes. It doesn’t make me feel anything, just has a pop-ish feel to it. To me music is about emotion and Morissette doesn’t tick that box here.
This is not to compare who's is singing better 😂, Just enjoy a grandma using her stumble and soulful voice to sang his own song. While on the other side, A granddaughter using her empowerment techniques to rise up to another level. That is why you can feel the grid aggressiveness 😊
While Morrissette's version is impeccable of course...the emotional magic that Andra delivers in the original is missing for me. Morisette is more technical/flashy. But, Andra adds the absolute pure and raw emotion behind the song. My opinion at least. Love them both though.
