    Thanks for the good review. I just purchased this grill online and after seeing your video wish I had ordered from you just to thank you for the great video...balanced, honest. Keep reading about the "hot" factor but not sure why you couldn't just use some indirect heat for slow cooking and if you're dropping something ultra heat sensitive right over the burner, pretend it's a piece of food on the ground and implement the 5 second rule. =)

    This is my second season with the 4 burner LTE built in. Love the grill but it is a very hot grill. You've got to change you grilling thinking. For the price, it's one of the better quality grills. Previously had a Napoleon, but wasn't a fan of their burners.

    I just purchased this grill (still in the box at this moment) and I was actually looking for an assembly video when I stumbled onto your channel. I am surprised that you do not go over "available" features, as that is one of the things that sold us on this grill. I opted for one side to be infrared...that was not an option with others that I was looking at. We also purchased the smoker/marinade box option, once again that was not available on other models that we were selecting from. We agree that it would have been nice to include the rotisserie kit seeing as how the burner was there. I do enjoy your reviews and you stay neutral in your comparisons and clearly state your "choices" as your opinion. Nicely done.

    I am in the market for new grill. I've watched a couple of your reviews. Though I appreciate the feature walkthroughs, I'm looking for grill reviews from an actual use perspective. The manufacturer's tend to already provide feature reviews. The mention of the rotisseries being too low - did the manufacturer design this with the intention of removing the grids? Can I put the protein to one side of the spit and keep a grid on the other side? How does the grill perform from a flare-up perspective, temp control, even heat distribution, cold spots, etc. Practical use reviews are really, really helpful when making a decision to purchase. I'm getting more from some the consumer comments on your TH-cam videos than from the video themself. Again, thanks for what you do but for purchasing decisions, there could be more to these videos that help with those decisions.

    Thanks for this review! Really well made. We got this grill last summer and we have some struggles with it. It is indeed a very hot grill as other mentioned. One can adjust the flow down a bit (there are hidden screws behind the gas knobs), but not much. The major problem we have, however, is that we find it to flare/flame quite a bit. Way more than our portable Weber 2000 grill for sure. It does decent with meat, but we have never had luck with fish and vegetables - they just get too charred. Our experience is that grease actually tends to stay on the perforated metal deflectors. It produces _plenty_ of grease fire.
    Is there anything you can suggest we could try to reduce this grease fire? For instance, we were wondering if it is a good idea to just remove the deflectors, but then the grease will drip on the burners themselves and that does not sound like a great idea.

      I have a 32" LTE, and I think the flame tamers are an absolutely stupid design. Like you said, they trap grease and do nothing but flare up. Very uneven heating, expecially in the center of the burner. Not a surprise, since the burner holes shoot the flame sideways. Build quality on them is great, but it comes down to cooking performance for me. It's just not there. Other negatives include the poor grease management and drip tray. It's just a giant tray underneath the grill, and a pain to clean. Way too many shields and pieces to remove to clean the grill, which is essential if you want any chance at avoiding flare ups. And then there is the cart. It's an a-la-carte item, and costs as much as a decent grill, but it poorly thought out, especially if you ever want to move the grill.

    Great overview, thank you! Could you please tell if this grill allow long cooking at slow temperature (something about 230-240F)? I am sure these unique burners work great at high temperature, I would like to make sure I can use it as a kind of smoker as well before I buy it.

      @@embersliving By using the indirect cooking method, it is very easy to do long and slow cooking at variable temperatures such as the oft-cited 225 range. I use indirect cooking all the time for things like ribs and pork loins. Of course, that does sacrifice the cooking area above the one or two burners being used for the higher direct heat. That being said, there is plenty of room to do a couple of slabs of ribs.

    • @steinyd
      @steinyd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@embersliving so, this grill is not a good choice for slow cooking of proteins or cooking processes such as smoking meat?

    • @steinyd
      @steinyd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@crescentmotor4068 do you have good results from indirect cooking for low heat methods? And, the review here suggests the rotisserie isn't very useful because it sits very low to the grates. I assume the design requires the removal of the grates. Do you use the rottiserie? What are your results? Chicken? pork loin, etc.?

    • @crescentmotor4068
      @crescentmotor4068 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@steinyd I usually indirect cook my thick steaks and use the optional searing burner at the end (reverse searing method). I have no problem holding low heat--it just takes some patience and fiddling with the gas burner output to hit your target. However, I do not recommend this grill for ribs as they take up too much space on the cooking grills to be able to effectively use the burners for indirect heat. A vertical rib rack would probably help in that regard. For ribs, roasts, and other large items requiring long cooking times, I much prefer to use my Smokin Tex dedicated electric smoker which can easily handle four slabs of ribs. Optimally the rotisserie should sit higher but I have no problems cooking chickens, pork loins, etc. The somewhat low rotisserie might present issues for a cook involving a really bulky item such as a turkey but I haven't had any issues. We have to remember that this unit is designed for and primarily functions as a grill so it is not going to the absolute best choice for all of your cooking requirements.

    Not impressed with this grill. I've owned it for a year, and found the heat distribution very uneven. There is very little heat at the center of the flame tamers. Also, the grill flares up A LOT. If you plan on cooking anything but lean cuts of meats (i.e. burgers and brats), be prepared to babysit your cook, and have a water bottle nearby. The top shelf is basically useless, as it is only 3-4 inches deep, and impeded by the round top. My other dislike is the GODAWFUL cart that is an option for this grill. It is overpriced, and poorly thought out. Sharp edges everywhere. Extremely poor castors, and terrible castor placement. They are too small in diameter, and are recessed several inches under the cart. Unless you crawl on your hands and knees, you will not be locking them. The castors only roll well on very smooth surfaces. Even transitioning on a concrete sidewalk with troweled relief joints is a challenge. The grill/cart weigh about 300 lbs, and it feels unstable moving it. Also, the cart has absolutely no handles on it whatsoever, and the flimsy side shelves (held on with sheet metal screws) and not fold-able. The doors are hard to open, and there are no shelves or drawers inside. Just a big open cabinet with lots of holes in the bottom for things to fall through (or animals to crawl in).
    On the plus side, the optional infrared burner works very well for searing steaks, and the overall quality of the grill feels solid. The cooking grates are very heavy duty and retain a lot of heat for searing. Fix the flame tamer and/or burner design, redesign everything about the cart, and I think you have a winner.

      Thanks for this. After reading many reviews and watching feature videos, you just closed the door for me as an option for purchase. Your comments about the thoughtless cart are on point. Just an empty box with a big round hole in the bottom (I'm buying for natural gas) and a huge gaping hole in the back. No control of airflow, need to point the grill in the right direction if its too windy. The seer rack, low sitting rotiserie and comments by others have changed my mind. I'm likely going back to the Weber Summit. We used to have the Weber Summit 6 burner Grill Center. Loved it. Moved out of state and left it behind. Have smaller needs now. Wish they have a 5 burner for a no brainer decision. 5 burner size is about the sweet spot for me.

      @@steinyd I'm planning to try and sell my Blaze 32" LTE/Cart this summer. I rarely use it, as I hate it that much. Hopefully since Covid drove the price of these up to ridiculous levels, I can get a good chunk of my money back out of it. I've owned several Weber grills and smokers before this, and never had a problem with any of them. I had a Weber Genesis Gold C w/side burner back in the day. All stainless. Sat outside with no cover for 9 years, and it worked perfectly every time. Very even cooking. The only thing I would want is heavier gauge cooking grates on it for better searing. That's it.

      @@bigman55434 there is nothing worse than enjoying grilling and hating your grill. After reading comments posted here and some of my own observation, I decided against the Blaze. I’m either going back to Weber (what I last owned), Napoleon or I’m looking hard at the Broil King Regal Series.

      Fuck China shit! How long is the total warranty of thes unit?
      I have zero knowledge of this brand, but I bet it is not anywhere close to Weber's 10 year bumper to bumper? Nice Video Brother, But I bet this unit is $1500 bucks or more? As far as the stainless steel meh, everyone who cooks dayley hates S/S. Old School cast Aluminum lasted forever. Plus it lasted for ever with regular easy maintenance. Oh by the way I'm not crazy about Weber's outrageous prices. It's a grill not a Viking Kitchen Range. IMO who sells and builds Grills for a living I'm on the fence.
      I think we can agree that all the big box store grills are either cheep trash or Weber month's pay stuff. Talk to me brother I have questions.
