Doris Key i hear ya :).....that one was not too hard, i used an extention ladder from floor then sat it on the steps straight up the wall, i have another video that shows me doing a typical stairwell, those can be tricky....check it out....and....thank U for watching!!
Sure thing! I didn't think about filming the cut in until I had it done...I was a rookie on the channel :)...but I do have other videos that show the cut in process...be careful...those stairwells are a real bear to do!
I've to a project like this but to make matters worse, I need to remove wallpaper. God help me! Thanks for sharing this. How did you cut in and what color of paint did you use here?
Wallpaper is going to be extreme difficult as u r imagining...only way I can think of is to set up scaffolding, to cut in I used a 16ft extention ladder, u have to be careful it doesn't slip out on the tile/wood floor, I trimmed out twice before rolling and didn't think about filming until the trim out was complete, rookie youtube creator mistake...back when I was just starting out, in my Playlist "how to paint like a pro" I have several videos showing the cut in on stairwells...be safe my friend :)
Jesse Gonzales i don't do any work by the sq ft, i personally think a person gets over charged using that method, i do everything on a time/material scale.....i work hard and do my best....client only pays for the work i do with no cushion cash added in the price, i have a video out that explains the difference in pricing, i believe it is in my " how to" playlist......thanks for watching......ps : im also semi retiring soon to concentrate on my YT channel and only do easier jobs these days :)....stairwells are dangerous
Great Video! No Ladders. This unique paint brush performs MIRACLES. Best paint brush is the Richard/Hyde 2 1/2 gooseneck flexible paint brush extension. TH-cam videos gooseneck paint brush one ark one hand demonstration. Cheers! The Gooseneck Guy!
Donald sounds pretty good in theory but to me getting right up there to draw that straight line is how I do it. I had already cut in before thinking about getting my camera out(back in my starting out days). I see the concept of a goose neck and extention....but to really draw that straight line it would be difficult. Plus....one tiny mistake and u touch the ceiling...well, guess who has to the paint that ceiling for free now? :)...thanks for the advice and dropping by!
Sorry about that! I had actually cut in twice already before thinking "hey...grab ur camera and film this dummy" :)....but....on my channel in the Playlist "paint like a pro" I do cut in other stairways.....probably not as high as this one but just as challenging....thank U for dropping by :)
Thanks for watching.....I have several videos out that show how to cut in a stairwell under the Playlist " How to paint like a Pro".....this was one of my first videos and I'm pretty sure the cut in was done before it entered my head head " hey....I should film this" :)......I do appreciate your comment....paint on!!
I hear ya.....look through my Playlist "paint like a pro"......I have another stairwell video that shows start to finish.....on this one I didn't think about filming until I had the cut-in complete....thanks for dropping by.....I hope this or the other video will help u out!
I was a little disappointed in the video. The main thing I came on to see is how do you get paint on the very top of the wall and edge it without getting it on the ceiling. I have a very tall hallway like this. I can paint it. But how to I line the top. Can't believe that was not put into the video.
Yep...bonkers on me :) i had already trimmed out twice before I thought about filming it......my earlier days starting my channel🙈 ...I have a Playlist on "how to paint like a pro" that has another stairwell in it.....not exactly like this one though....I used a tall extention ladder and reached the ceiling line from the floor....only way I know how to reach it.....kind of dangerous too.....thanks for watching though....I appreciate U :)
@btlmail1969 hello, I might disagree just a bit by saying both parts, the cut-in and rolling, are pretty challenging. Buto to give a reason why I didn't add the cut-in part was I was just starting my channel and it didn't hit me to film this job until I had already cut-in twice, duh on my part, I do have several other stairwells on film from start to finish under the playlist "paint like a pro", now days, it's in my head so far I can't do a project without filming it...hence my over 800 long form videos:), thank u for ur insight, that was a pretty nice job to accomplish:)
That was great but I was hoping to see how you handled the hard part--the cut in.

Could have been perfect if you did the edge between ceiling and wall. That’s the one i was waiting on🤔

Jeezzz, you would think you would show the full wall being painted. People are looking for the cut..

The difficult part is cutting into the ceiling. You didn't do it!
