if this is you some of your F2L solutions are a bit painful to watch so here some tips: for the green orange pair in 2:05 R U2 R' rotate and insert to the back your solution had 2 F moves and it was 10 moves long so switch that for the case at 2:12 you did 10 moves and a rotation, there's a solution with a rotation that is 7 moves (rotate R' U R U' 3 move insert) also start using U2 flicks during F2L for green orange pair in 2:46 you did some weird long solution that you seem to have standardized instead of limiting it to last slot, U' R' U R and either rotate and insert or insert with F moves both are faster also practice your LL recog and do antisune with double flick
I own all the gans since the xs and price was never really an issue for me because of my job I always have enough money to buy the next cube, but now I main the tornado v3 with the Rs3m super ball core as my backup so, even if price is not taken into consideration I still think Gan needs to compete with these other cubes, I believe that even if the Gan was the same price as the tornado the tornado would still be the top choice for most speedcubers I think that Gan is over engineering certain less important stuff like the tensioning system and edge magnets but not putting enough into the more important features like the anti-pop system
I love GAN's tensioning system. I don't like the traditional screw and spring because when I tension It, I don't know how tight or loose the cube is. Therefore, I switched to the GAN 13. I like maglev because the cube turns 1000000 times better.
@@Y21_Cubing yes they do rarely pop, but they still do sometimes, and the tornado v3’s is much better, I own the 13 and still prefer the tornado, yes I agree that it’s better than the screw and spring, but they do not need to keep innovating it, this was mentioned in the video, the GES nut is just as good
The rise and fall of Gan happened way before the 11. When they released about a hundred versions of the Air M, people started realizing that they were actually the Apple of speedcube manufacturers
@@noobyisveryepic9517 no don't try the 13. I have had the GAN X, 12, 13... Gan 12 is slightly better because it's easier to control/tighter. If you have money to spend sure but otherwise nowhere near worth it. In fact, I'm slower on my 13 than 12 but that may just be a personal skill issue.
Really enjoyed the video BUT I need to make a counter point. You can’t expect massive leaps in hardware year after year. We have been spoiled the last 5 years by the rate of improvement but at some point the curve has to mellow out and updates need to become iterative. Think of smartphones, crazy years of features and development until now where each new smartphone is a small improvement and most years you can skip releases until you need a new phone. Also on the point of the soft 11m Pro. That was a factory issue. Their was far too many failed cubes where the soft coating was just not staying on the cubes so they couldn’t bring it to market. Hardly a fail, more kudos for attempting something new, these things don’t always work out. Proper collectors item if you can get a hold of one now.

My main is yoo cube deluxe 2 (tornado V3 flagship) and i think it is a Very good upgrade and i like it more than gan i like gan 11 m pro with the magnets of gan 12 bcz i like the adjustment system of gan 11 but now my main is tornado V3 and rs3m 2022 ball core these to cubes qre budget cubes and i love them
The gan 11 m pro was probably gans peak. Their cubes are still great, but not as I sane compared to other cubes compared to how it was was the 11 m pro was released
I use a core kit in my WRM maglev with 3x2 repelling magnets in the edge like the GAN. And in my GAN 13 I addet the same magnets in each edge so both cubes turns really like magic.
I think you have a point but failing is part of the cube company journey - no companies have just pumped out success after success and X-man only really gained reputation from their Tornado v2/3 (their other puzzles were not ‘fails’ but not complete successes either) so maybe GAN js just in a dip and will come back..
I mean, the X man big cubes were pretty big back in the day. Not only that, X man is a Qiyi sub brand so qiyi’s success can be considered to be X man’s success
I think it's more a little wobble than a fall. Business wise the GAN strategy is pretty smart imo. After all companies want to make profit and that's what they are doing with releasing a 3x3 every year plus limited editions and more different products like the mirror M, or the mosaic set. Not every product needs to be revolutionary but good enough to be bought by many. PS: Apple has been declared "dead" countless times but is still a very successful brand.
I actually think the peak of gan was right after the gan air sm release and during the gan x and 354m period. The gan xs was honestly a downgrade (besides the magnet system) and every release after that besides the 11m pro hasn’t been as appealing.
The SM was regarded as the best cube of its time for quite awhile, and was the first cube that provided a wide range of customization compared to its counterparts (Valk, gts2)
I think its just how gan had built up a reputation of having expensive premium cubes, that makes it harder for them to move on. Also, the ceo of gan mentioned how the reason for their price is because of the new ideas and innovations, i think this is why companies like moyu or qiyi/xmen can make cheaper cubes, they dont rlly add a brand new never seen before feature to their flagships, maybe they change the piece design or improved the tensioning system slighty. Kinda like how after gan introduced the corner to core magnet and proved that it worked, xmen came with the tornado v3 pioneer. But hey thats just what i think
I doubt their new ideas are as expensive as the cube. I've seen people on yt make maglev prototypes way before it came to main stream cubes. Sure, you can charge for r&d, but not as much as gan imo.

i think gan is making their cubes way too expencive. the differece between the gan 13 and the tornado v3 are almost not noticeble, but the gan 13 is $40 more expensive.
I suspect if Gan never released any more cubes they would still continue selling for years, the number of orders I still get of Gan 356Ms continues to surprise me, the cube has been unquestionably surpassed by the Gan 11M but it is probably just what comes up on google ads when someone searches for a Gan speedcube
It's really not necessary for a brand to realease a new 3x3 every single year. They should start taking more time between each release because i feel like people are getting tired of getting a new 3x3 every year with minor improvements and just as expensive. Also they should focus on other puzzles again, like 4x4 and 5x5 (and actually make them good this time around lol). And decrease the damn prizes lol
Gan hasn't changed their piece design in ages. I lock up on Gan X, and I lock up on Gan 12. Yeah, core magnets are cool, but Gan cubes gum up like crazy if you don't use them all the time, and they aren't as forgiving as the WRM or Tornado v3. That's why I stopped trying to like Gan cubes after Gan 12, and didn't get the Gan 13. Tornado v3 for the win. I don't think they'll stop releasing 3x3s every year. Come on, there are too many cubers who will get every Gan flagship just because they are the most expensive and "premium". Honestly, I'd rather prefer them making a good square-1 and add some competition to the big cube market.

You call yourself a fan? I've been with them since the 357 back in 2014. And the 356 air in 2016. Do not cite me the dark magic to me, i was there when they were written. Jokes aside I do like gan trying new and weird ideas, as that's where innovation comes from, if they were to find something that works, they should keep improving on it as much as possible, with even more new and weird ideas, one of them just may be the next big thing. That being said, i think they'd also do good in producing more mid priced products
I do agree that they need to keep improving, I hadn't thought that the next one could be something AMAZING! I do also think that if they want to keep their market they do need to produce more mid priced products like you said.
well, ges is definitely the worst type of adjustment posible since you need to take out and put on them instead of just turning two things with a plastic/metal tool that can be replaced with a SIM extraction tool. also they can get dirty OR LOST. it's a huge improvement, but besides that, there's not that many changes. I mean, it's big but once you're good enough to care about a perfect cube, you just set it up one day and never change it again.

GANCUBEs rarely pop. I love their 3x3s so much that I'm gonna try their 4x4.
They are really good cubes, but there are times where cheaper cubes are better.

For me, i've mained the gan 11, 12 but after abit i started to main a moyu wrm 2019 2020 because of the nonexisten catching and better corner cutting.
Yeah, that makes sense. It also helps you out in the future as those cubes are a lot cheaper

Try lowering your TPS a bit and focus more on look-a-head. You could easily shave off 3-5 seconds without all the time wasted due to bad look-a-head

Yeah, if only they were cheaper. I don't think anyone would be complaining if GAN aimed their cubes at £35-£40 ($42-$48)

Exactly, I have had my GAN 11, 12 and 13 on the same tension pretty much since I got them.
The GAN 13 is so easy to adjust.
It only comes with 1 adjustment tool. It's so easy to use
If you lost your adjustment tool like I lost mine, you could use a toothpick instead. Only on the GAN 13 maglev.
