In the revival how ever, Carly has grown to be less shallow and Freddie after going through two divorces has grown up to be less obsessive, making them a much more compatible pairing. It would be a fun story line of how Sam has grown up but considering according to the story she joined a Biker gang to follow her bliss it would mean she is still a free spirit which is actually one aspect of Sam that I wish wouldn't change which would be really incompatible with Freddie's current character.

No, the relationship was forced, you should hear Janette talk about their first kissing scene in her book. Dan just kept making her redo it demanding “more head movement” and he got all mad when producers told him that they had to move on if they were going to finish filming that day. I never liked the idea of Sam and Freddie breaking up, it felt like the only purpose of the breakup is so that the show can feature Carly and Freddie going back together and having an opportunity to be able to like each other again. But there is no purpose to why the couple broke up. Many couples are in the same circumstance and situation like Sam and Freddie, the important part is if they love each other or not, and is the 2 actually is right to date, couples fight all the time. So the breakup felt forced in so many ways. Way to go, Nickelodeon.
I haven’t really watched a reboot yet so I don’t know if the chemistry has changed but on the original series Sam and Freddie always had way more chemistry than Carly and Freddie Carly and Freddie never felt romantic they always felt like bffs Sam and Freddie had more passion even when they argue lol
Here is the thing passion is highly overrated and it fades. If you look at Carly and Freddie, really look at them in the original. Carly is just not consciously aware of her feelings for for Freddie. That's why his saving her life is so important because it makes her consciously aware that he is not just her best friend. The problem is that Sam manipulates Freddie into breaking up with Carly and leaves the two of them stuck hovering in this weird grey area. Freddie dates Sam sure but they have no personal intimacy, no patience and no communication, in fact, the only thing that they agree on is that they should break up. The rest of the time they are dysfunctional at best and toxic at worst and Carly is stuck playing therapist. Some couples with opposing personalities work but Freddie and Sam would rather be right than happy and because of that they would never work long-term. Carly and Freddie work because they can just be together, romantic or not and they sacrifice for and stand up for each other. The only pressure in their relationship comes from other people telling them how they should feel and its why Carly in particular does not act on her feelings unless she is alone with Freddie, like their dance at groovy smoothy which is full of physical intimacy. I’m rewatching the original series and she might not act on her feelings much but Freddie is definitely more than a friend.

There was a huge waste of potential from Sam and Freddie's couple, because of that enemies to lovers vibe, but their relationship was terribly executed, so was Sam's behavior forcing "comedy" through violence and toxicity as a friend and girlfriend. Fanfics did a beautiful work playing Seddie couple, even the Creddie one more than the show (now the reboot) could ever do. I was always a Seddie fan and I know it was endgame, at least, for the original creator of iCarly (the you know who). For their own reasons they decided to air a reboot no one asked for and the worst, without Jennette (the most important character we would have loved to watch un-censored in dialogue) I think, with her the show would be a trillion times more succesful xd However, if you are having fun watching the reboot and it has been a gift for your inner child, good for you. More than all, if you are a Creddie fan since the beggining. I just wanted to express how upset all of this got me in this unfortunate adult life 😂

I appreciate this comment because it doesn’t just see things so much in a black-and-white narrative. I used to rant about this ship being “abusive,” which some could understandably see as such, but I’m trying not to judge too much with real-life standards. I agree with you that Seddie was good potential but horribly executed. They had similar toxic backgrounds, and they had massive character development. When they weren’t fighting (and by “fighting” it’s really Sam tormenting Freddie 96% of the time), they had some wholesome bonding moments, like playing meatball golf. I think the dynamic would’ve been much improved if Freddie also fought Sam more often (he slapped her back one time, and that was nice). Sam overall was a pretty tricky character to handle, and I have complicated views about her. She was very hilarious, but sometimes she takes it too far and it just comes off annoying. She’s a character whom I love and hate at the same time. Though these days I’m not so interested in ragging on Sam as much as I want to uplift Freddie, who I believe is massively underrated and reminds me of those spicy Disney Channel white guys with his charisma. And yeah, Jenette is a wonderful person who deserved better than what she’s been through. As much as we missed her as Sam, we should respect her decision and support her by other means.

i always supported seddie no matter what. the reason i didnt choose carly was because she didnt like the 'obsessive' freddie at first ( i mean thats okay) but then liked him when she thought he was a hero. on top of that, even if she DIDNT like freddie and knew freddie liked her, she didnt want freddie to like someone else too, meaning that she knew she always had freddie wrapped around her finger. i feel seddie was a fiesty, chemistry-loaded relationship because they have been real best friends before that and it was fiery. i dont think that in the reboot they should have completely ruined seddie even if jennette didnt join because in the last episode of sam and cat, sam asks freddie out, so everyone assumes seddie to be the endgame. seddie forever
They are MY endgame I don't care what happens in the reboot, it might be sweet, they might have worked it well, but Seddie will be forever endgame for me and that's why I'm writing my own version making them be healthier and having actual character development :)
although im not the die-hard seddie shipper i was in the golden icarly days, i still have a soft spot for them since they were my first real ship. you cant tell me that theyre not going down the creddie route bc of nostalgia purposes and fan service as well as the chemistry miranda and nathan now have which was pretty much non existent in the og show. i havent actually watched the reboot but it seems heavily reliant on nostalgia and cameos in order to draw in any real interest.

I understand why some of you are upset about the creddie when seddie was your favorite. But if Sam was on the show, you know she would be so happy for Carly and Freddie.

So they shouldn’t have done the reboot without Jennette? Unfortunately she had a lot of terrible experiences on the show. Which are completely valid reasons why she didn’t want to come back to the show, and I’m sure they are completely capable of doing the show without her. Fuller House did a whole 5 seasons without the Olsen Twins who played Michelle. Not everyone needs to be in the reboot for it to work.

@@merman_laozu7781 The reboot is fantastic, answers a lot of query's we had on the original show (like what happened to Carly's mother), and is actually something Jennette doesn't mind as she he adores the other actors on the cast and knows how much this show means to them. No show in the history is necessary, even the original wasn't necessary but when the cast have a genuinely good idea for a show in which they have poured so much love and Passion into it is a wonderful thing to have.
No Seddie in iCarly made me decide to never watch the reboot. Don't get me wrong, Creddie was also in the original version and I'm fine with that ship. I just wish this ended with Seddie. But go Jennette for doing what was best for her.

I haven't watched the reboot specifically because she wasn't in it she was my favorite part of the original show. I hope everyone who ever did that amazing strong woman wrong get what they deserve.

Personally I like the reboot, and it’s literally just a show. Jennette didn’t want to be in the reboot, but I’m sure the character of Sam would be happy for Carly and Freddie. i see a lot of people down here saying they hate the reboot, but i don't think the reboot is that bad. and i personally don't think is fair not watching something just because your fav couple is no longer together. i like freddie and i see how much he's grown. and i'm hopping someday jennette come back to the show. honestly, the only thing i think that makes no sense in the revival is the fact they don't mention sam (ok only in the first episode to kinda explain why she's not there). what makes me sad is they being so indifferent about sam with the justification that "is just sam being sam". but if they shows freddie looking for sam, everyone would expect her appearance, which has a lot of chances of failure.

Thank you for me the reboot didn't happen and Sam and Freddie are married with their crazy children and their even crazier moms. Also there was another way to show could have worked around this in the reboot They could have had Carly ask oh by the way how are things going with Sam and then you could explain why she's not in the show by saying that she's off doing some journalist stuff or something like that Maybe even hosting a fight club that one's probably the more likely outcome point being is that they could have done anything else to explain that instead they're just like dust in the wind.

You see, I go to this bakery a lot, and I got along very well with a cute female worker (early twenties), who eventually left the job to work somewhere else. One day, I run into her at the bar (karaoke night) after midnight, and it was a good reunion. She and her friends were singing this song, and the woman gestured me to come toward them and pointed me to the lyrics on this screen. She encouraged me to sing with them, and I did. I realized something from that night: I don't just think she's cute; I think I have strong feelings for her. I don't think I want to go out with any other woman. But I don't know, should I ask her out, the next time I see her? I don't have her number, and that was the first time we saw each other outside of the bakery.

To be honest I kinda like that Carly and Freddie finally got a chance to be together. In the original series they were only little kids and I don’t think Carly actually realised how much Freddie was there for her but in the reboot after becoming an adult she realise how loyal and kind and loving Freddie was and that he would literally do anything in the world for her and no matter what he was going to be there for her even if their relationship doesn’t work out. For example he was literally willing to recreate every single childhood photo with Carly that was on her destroyed hard drive even though he was mad at her. Freddie loved her so much and if not Carly at least Freddie deserved his Happy ending and his biggest wish to happen

I think Seddie actually could have worked if the writers had matured the two characters, there could have been a few scenes or even JUST ONE where Sam & Freddie had a REALLY in-depth conversation about their home lives and trying to understand each other.

How is Freddie moving on with his life and not just obsessing over Carly and Sam, something that doesn't make sense? Freddie actually moving on with his life, even getting married even if those weren't successful is what Makes Freddie a much better character. If he was still just holding on feelings for his high school sweethearts he'd come up as someone terribly obsessed like he was as a child. The fact that he isn't is what shows he has matured as a person. Also what does the Sam and Cat episode contradict? The one episode people keep bringing up is the episode that has one moment of Sam asking Freddie out that isn't even followed up in the show itself as we never see the date and Freddie is not brought up in the show again even through there are multiple episodes after that episode. So seriously when the show that it happened in itself doesn't bring up what happened then why would the revival?
If Jennette was on the show, it would still be Creddie cause literally no one in the cast shipped Seddie and they all would've been producers. Might have been a added dynamic of a love triangle just to add some tension and drama, but Creddie would've been endgame simply because Nathan though Seddie was weird, Jennette didn't like Seddie, Jerry prefers Creddie, and Miranda has been Creddie's number one superfan for over a decade now. 😂 With or without Jennette, what's happening now was going to happen. As a former shipper, imo Seddie was nice potential, but poorly executed, both the build-up and arc itself. I think Freddie genuinely loved and cared about Sam, but not so much the other way around. Considering how she tormented him before they dated, it would’ve been nice to see Freddie hit her at times, or at least pull a Josh is Done moment when he found out she messed up his application (Even under a pro-Seddie stance there isn’t much worth defending; I don’t get why he forgave her). If Sam truly loved him, she would’ve told him the truth a long time ago. Sam overall was a complicated character whom I love and hate at the same time. Though there are a few Seddie moments that I genuinely enjoyed. The kiss in the mental hospital when Freddie acted extra spicy grabbing and smirking at her. And when Sam saved him from the killer tuna (Sam in general was very morally inconsistent, but I do acknowledge how she helped more than harmed during her time at Sam and Cat). I think Freddie himself was a massively underrated character with great development, but he was treated too much like a punching bag. As much as we respect Jenette’s decision and support her for what she’s been through, I think it would’ve been interesting if Sam was in the revival. Maybe she’d feel genuine remorse for how she treated him before, and maybe even make up for the application she messed up.

The reasonable Seddie shippers will agree that the couple is a lot of potential that was wasted and done dirty. But the majority of Seddie shippers love it for the potential that was there, where Sam learns to develop and move beyond her violent ways and mature into herself as a young adult, and Freddie learns to grow a backbone and stops being scared of the world and is able to match sam's energy and passion. Yeah thanks, I hate the reboot, it's destroying my childhood series. It's not canon for me and for many others. I would love a reboot, IF all characters are included. But Jennette has a valid reason to don't participate. So if I would be in charge, I would just don’t do a reboot. It's not nescessary. Their adult live? That's not like iCarly felt. I would just leave the "KillerTunaJump" as an kinda ending. The rest is for the fans. NOTHING will ever get in the way of Sam and Freddies unique love. (And Cat and Robbies. I don't know, this relationship was equally toxic as it was "showing chemistry" between them. As much as they looked Sexy, i know plenty of couples just like them that end up being in very toxic situations including myself. A couple like them would have been in a divorce, domestic abuse or even worse if this wasn't fiction. I know the opposites attracts thing if something people fetish over in these shows and stories, but realistically in the real world, fiction rarely works. This is why the revival (not reboot) indirectly fixes this in s3e3, in hindsight, after we find out what Carly did to Freddie in Italy before Sam and Cat. Doesn't matter what the fans favor, or more like half the fans because the ship between Carly vs Sam was honestly closer to 50-50. But at the end of the day, the creators chose to go with the more realistic pairing of Carly and Freddie and the writing now supports that. We now know why Freddie shows up in the Sam and Cat show, because of being "rejected" by Carly at Italy, prior to the Sam And Cat show. seddie is actually a very good couple, an amazing couple. They honestly compliment each other perfectly. sams abusive behavior is explained by her rough upbringing. does she go too far? perhaps, but every time she goes too far she recognizes shes done wrong and makes it up in her own way. she actually goes through CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT which is a rarity in nickelodeon shows. she starts off as an angry, hateful, abusive preteen who, through the influence of carly, and most importantly freddie, calms down as she matures into a young adult and is able to control her violent urges. Freddie, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. he starts off as a pushover lapdog who fawns over carly and would bend over backwards to please her. sam's influence is what makes him start to grow a backbone and stick up to himself, even growing to the point where he is standing up to his neurotic mother and even sam puckett on occasion. both characters bring out growth and positive qualities in each other while maintaining that great chemistry that left fans giggling every time they had a moment. as for the abuse part of icarly, people need to learn what tropes are. it is an insanely popular trope for badass hardcore tough person to fall for the person she torments, but people act like this is something new and has never been done before. are her violent outburts sometimes more exaggerated and pronounced than they should be? maybe, but so is everything else in the show. it is, like said before, and exaggerated show with exaggerated characters. besides, nobody wants perfect characters to be with each other. both freddie and sam have flaws, are called out on their flaws, and overcome those flaws because of the other's influence. that is why this couple works beautifully and everyone was upset at how horribly nickelodeon handled the seddie arc.
It's sad to see just how blinded and delusional people are to think a relationship like Sam and Freddie is good. And to actually justify Sam's abuse to Freddie and later to Gibby because she's so evil she has to abuse someone.
I can see why people ship these two and I really do respect that, but I can’t ship them after the small arc they had in the original show. That was such a toxic relationship and it was all played for laughs. Even when I was little it made me uncomfortable. There is also the fact that Sam was awful to him throughout the show. In the revival how ever, Carly has grown to be less shallow and Freddie after going through two divorces has grown up to be less obsessive, making them a much more compatible pairing. It would be a fun story line of how Sam has grown up but considering according to the story she joined a Biker gang to follow her bliss it would mean she is still a free spirit which is actually one aspect of Sam that I wish wouldn't change which would be really incompatible with Freddie's current character.

No, the relationship was forced, you should hear Janette talk about their first kissing scene in her book. Dan just kept making her redo it demanding “more head movement” and he got all mad when producers told him that they had to move on if they were going to finish filming that day. I never liked the idea of Sam and Freddie breaking up, it felt like the only purpose of the breakup is so that the show can feature Carly and Freddie going back together and having an opportunity to be able to like each other again. But there is no purpose to why the couple broke up. Many couples are in the same circumstance and situation like Sam and Freddie, the important part is if they love each other or not, and is the 2 actually is right to date, couples fight all the time. So the breakup felt forced in so many ways. Way to go, Nickelodeon.
I haven’t really watched a reboot yet so I don’t know if the chemistry has changed but on the original series Sam and Freddie always had way more chemistry than Carly and Freddie Carly and Freddie never felt romantic they always felt like bffs Sam and Freddie had more passion even when they argue lol

Here is the thing passion is highly overrated and it fades. If you look at Carly and Freddie, really look at them in the original. Carly is just not consciously aware of her feelings for for Freddie. That's why his saving her life is so important because it makes her consciously aware that he is not just her best friend. The problem is that Sam manipulates Freddie into breaking up with Carly and leaves the two of them stuck hovering in this weird grey area.
Freddie dates Sam sure but they have no personal intimacy, no patience and no communication, in fact, the only thing that they agree on is that they should break up. The rest of the time they are dysfunctional at best and toxic at worst and Carly is stuck playing therapist.
Some couples with opposing personalities work but Freddie and Sam would rather be right than happy and because of that they would never work long-term.
Carly and Freddie work because they can just be together, romantic or not and they sacrifice for and stand up for each other. The only pressure in their relationship comes from other people telling them how they should feel and its why Carly in particular does not act on her feelings unless she is alone with Freddie, like their dance at groovy smoothy which is full of physical intimacy. I’m rewatching the original series and she might not act on her feelings much but Freddie is definitely more than a friend.

A crush and real love is something different. He had a crush on her as a little boy which often happens with little boys and beautiful girls they know. As he grew older, he realised it and loved her as a friend. Other thing is, she even abused him, kind of, she used his crush on her so he does anything for her. Nothing against Carly, many people do that, but it's still not nice. But he realised it like every little boy does and understand what love means. Carly is even the one why he and Sam broke up. She said they didn't had a good relationship and they took it seriously. Yes, they fighted a lot, but that's normal, especially when you're a teenager and a person like Sam. But with time, it will get better. But they took her "advise" and broke up, altough they still love each other so much. And then.. They took their time, like I said. And when they met again, in L.A., they made up a date. He loves Sam and that never stopped and the reboot destroys all that, it makes no sense. Creddie fans are ridiculous, sorry. I'm so sure they would have made more Seddie content, but Jennette isn't an actress anymore and that's completely fine, she has valid reasons. There was a huge waste of potential from Sam and Freddie's couple, because of that enemies to lovers vibe, but their relationship was terribly executed, so was Sam's behavior forcing "comedy" through violence and toxicity as a friend and girlfriend.
Fanfics did a beautiful work playing Seddie couple, even the Creddie one more than the show (now the reboot) could ever do. I was always a Seddie fan and I know it was endgame, at least, for the original creator of iCarly (the you know who). For their own reasons they decided to air a reboot no one asked for and the worst, without Jennette (the most important character we would have loved to watch un-censored in dialogue) I think, with her the show would be a trillion times more succesful xd

I appreciate this comment because it doesn’t just see things so much in a black-and-white narrative. I used to rant about this ship being “abusive,” which some could understandably see as such, but I’m trying not to judge too much with real-life standards.
I agree with you that Seddie was good potential but horribly executed. They had similar toxic backgrounds, and they had massive character development. When they weren’t fighting (and by “fighting” it’s really Sam tormenting Freddie 96% of the time), they had some wholesome bonding moments, like playing meatball golf. I think the dynamic would’ve been much improved if Freddie also fought Sam more often (he slapped her back one time, and that was nice).
Sam overall was a pretty tricky character to handle, and I have complicated views about her. She was very hilarious, but sometimes she takes it too far and it just comes off annoying. She’s a character whom I love and hate at the same time. Though these days I’m not so interested in ragging on Sam as much as I want to uplift Freddie, who I believe is massively underrated and reminds me of those spicy Disney Channel white guys with his charisma.
And yeah, Jenette is a wonderful person who deserved better than what she’s been through. As much as we missed her as Sam, we should respect her decision and support her by other means.

i always supported seddie no matter what. the reason i didnt choose carly was because she didnt like the 'obsessive' freddie at first ( i mean thats okay) but then liked him when she thought he was a hero. on top of that, even if she DIDNT like freddie and knew freddie liked her, she didnt want freddie to like someone else too, meaning that she knew she always had freddie wrapped around her finger. i feel seddie was a fiesty, chemistry-loaded relationship because they have been real best friends before that and it was fiery. i dont think that in the reboot they should have completely ruined seddie even if jennette didnt join because in the last episode of sam and cat, sam asks freddie out, so everyone assumes seddie to be the endgame. seddie forever

although im not the die-hard seddie shipper i was in the golden icarly days, i still have a soft spot for them since they were my first real ship. you cant tell me that theyre not going down the creddie route bc of nostalgia purposes and fan service as well as the chemistry miranda and nathan now have which was pretty much non existent in the og show. i havent actually watched the reboot but it seems heavily reliant on nostalgia and cameos in order to draw in any real interest.

To be honest I kinda like that Carly and Freddie finally got a chance to be together. In the original series they were only little kids and I don’t think Carly actually realised how much Freddie was there for her but in the reboot after becoming an adult she realise how loyal and kind and loving Freddie was and that he would literally do anything in the world for her and no matter what he was going to be there for her even if their relationship doesn’t work out. For example he was literally willing to recreate every single childhood photo with Carly that was on her destroyed hard drive even though he was mad at her. How is Freddie moving on with his life and not just obsessing over Carly and Sam, something that doesn't make sense? Freddie actually moving on with his life, even getting married even if those weren't successful is what Makes Freddie a much better character. If he was still just holding on feelings for his high school sweethearts he'd come up as someone terribly obsessed like he was as a child. The fact that he isn't is what shows he has matured as a person.
Also what does the Sam and Cat episode contradict? The one episode people keep bringing up is the episode that has one moment of Sam asking Freddie out that isn't even followed up in the show itself as we never see the date and Freddie is not brought up in the show again even through there are multiple episodes after that episode.
So seriously when the show that it happened in itself doesn't bring up what happened then why would the revival?

As a former shipper, imo Seddie was nice potential, but poorly executed, both the build-up and arc itself. I think Freddie genuinely loved and cared about Sam, but not so much the other way around. Considering how she tormented him before they dated, it would’ve been nice to see Freddie hit her at times, or at least pull a Josh is Done moment when he found out she messed up his application (Even under a pro-Seddie stance there isn’t much worth defending; I don’t get why he forgave her). If Sam truly loved him, she would’ve told him the truth a long time ago. Sam overall was a complicated character whom I love and hate at the same time.
Though there are a few Seddie moments that I genuinely enjoyed. The kiss in the mental hospital when Freddie acted extra spicy grabbing and smirking at her. And when Sam saved him from the killer tuna (Sam in general was very morally inconsistent, but I do acknowledge how she helped more than harmed during her time at Sam and Cat). I think Freddie himself was a massively underrated character with great development, but he was treated too much like a punching bag.
As much as we respect Jenette’s decision and support her for what she’s been through, I think it would’ve been interesting if Sam was in the revival. Maybe she’d feel genuine remorse for how she treated him before, and maybe even make up for the application she messed up.

The reasonable Seddie shippers will agree that the couple is a lot of potential that was wasted and done dirty. Sam is horrifically abusive to Freddie. Constantly bullying him, putting him down verbally, threatening him with violence, assaulting him with a tennis racket! And exposing secrets he confessed to Carly live on air. It’s probably not that deep but the fact that Seddie shippers make excuses for Sam’s physical violence and abuse towards Freddie and act like that shit was romantic makes me terrified if these people are in relationships. I don't know, this relationship was equally toxic as it was "showing chemistry" between them. As much as they looked Sexy, i know plenty of couples just like them that end up being in very toxic situations including myself. A couple like them would have been in a divorce, domestic abuse or even worse if this wasn't fiction. I know the opposites attracts thing if something people fetish over in these shows and stories, but realistically in the real world, fiction rarely works.
This is why the revival (not reboot) indirectly fixes this in s3e3, in hindsight, after we find out what Carly did to Freddie in Italy before Sam and Cat. So now we know why Freddie went back to Sam during Sam and Cat.

And this is also why the revival is successful with these two. Sam and Freddie were passionate, yet extremely toxic, where as Carly and Freddie look like complete soulmates. Freddie looks genuinely the happiest around Carly and we've never seen Carly look equally comfortable in a relationship until now. They're adults now, wiser, and with completely matured preferences, so them finding each other again after finding themselves as fully realized adults makes sense. There is no need to force complex feelings of love as children, most kids don't have that complex wisdom to make the right choices whenever it comes down to this.

But at the end of the day, the creators chose to go with the more realistic pairing of Carly and Freddie and the writing now supports that. We now know why Freddie shows up in the Sam and Cat show, because of being "rejected" by Carly at Italy, prior to the Sam And Cat show. As much as we fans try to flip it, the writing works and it is what it is at this point. But we can't just claim that Freddie and Carly don't make sense because of this Sam and Cat moments, especially since we now know why Freddie went back to Sam. Heck, the revival show is already proving that fact wrong.
seddie is actually a very good couple, an amazing couple.
They honestly compliment each other perfectly. sams abusive behavior is explained by her rough upbringing. does she go too far? perhaps, but every time she goes too far she recognizes shes done wrong and makes it up in her own way. she actually goes through CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT which is a rarity in nickelodeon shows. she starts off as an angry, hateful, abusive preteen who, through the influence of carly, and most importantly freddie, calms down as she matures into a young adult and is able to control her violent urges.
Freddie, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. he starts off as a pushover lapdog who fawns over carly and would bend over backwards to please her. sam's influence is what makes him start to grow a backbone and stick up to himself, even growing to the point where he is standing up to his neurotic mother and even sam puckett on occasion. both characters bring out growth and positive qualities in each other while maintaining that great chemistry that left fans giggling every time they had a moment.
as for the abuse part of icarly, people need to learn what tropes are. it is an insanely popular trope for badass hardcore tough person to fall for the person she torments, but people act like this is something new and has never been done before. are her violent outburts sometimes more exaggerated and pronounced than they should be? maybe, but so is everything else in the show. it is, like said before, and exaggerated show with exaggerated characters. besides, nobody wants perfect characters to be with each other. both freddie and sam have flaws, are called out on their flaws, and overcome those flaws because of the other's influence. that is why this couple works beautifully and everyone was upset at how horribly nickelodeon handled the seddie arc.
It's sad to see just how blinded and delusional people are to think a relationship like Sam and Freddie is good. And to actually justify Sam's abuse to Freddie and later to Gibby because she's so evil she has to abuse someone.
I can see why people ship these two and I really do respect that, but I can’t ship them after the small arc they had in the original show. That was such a toxic relationship and it was all played for laughs. Even when I was little it made me uncomfortable. There is also the fact that Sam was awful to him throughout the show.
