My only love for a musician is the magnificent PRINCE 💕☮️💗🥰 No one will ever compare to his genius!!! I’m crying because these live releases are a treasure to hear. God Bless you for doing this for us.
Listening 2 this AMAZING collection of great music from a absolute musical genius on his Birthday…I’ve danced, I’ve cried, I’ve bit my bottom lip jammin’…THANK U for your labor of love… It’s so beautiful. Thank you for posting… 💜💟💜💟
Has Wendy always done the guitar solo on When Doves Cry? She was great!! I just love her!! Dr. Fink's keyboard solo was fabulous as always too!! Prince recorded his best music with The Revolution, man, I swear. So cool!!
This gave me the chills, like hearing Prince for the 1st time. I am 55 and have listened and saw Prince 4 times, once with my wife. I would like to share a story. I had many kitchen dances with my daughter to Prince as she was a child. As she grew up and owned her own music, i would be getting dinner together, playing Prince, as per usual, my wife and daughter would pop in and say, not feckin Prince again, but still had a bit of a shuffle. For our daughter's 21st birthday, coming back from studying abroad; as a jokey part of her presents, i got an original version of Purple Rain on Vinyl -she has her own decks at home and loves the ol vinyl like- she unwrapped it and held it with a reverance, brings tears to my eyes sharing this. She held it, looked at me and said, this is a perfect present. We went upstairs and she gently placed it on her turntable and sat. My wife after a couple of tracks said, i am off and we fell about laughing. So, thanks for this. This will give me another 30 years of annoying the wife, although, she always gave me a gentle kiss on my cheek. And kitchen dances with my daughter, when she visits. So thank you for sharing this.
The New Orleans show, very recommended if you can get a copy of the whole thing. (my cassette had a lot of wow and flutter ). Also, the Aug 3 1983 performance was the only time outside of rehearsals that he performed the unreleased 2nd verse to Computer Blue. That song really needed it to be on the album.

@Mace2theO Thank You so much . This Gives me life , this IS the soundtrack to my life . Ask were we are going PAISLEY PARK . PAISLEY PARK IS IN YOUR HEART 💜💜💜💜💜
Lisa reminded me of McCoy Tyner behind Coltrane in her solo during Anotherloverholenyohead!! A series of dense chords sprinkled with melodic runs here and there. Interesting sound.
OMG, this is so amazing. Thank you so much for putting it together. I'm sure it was soooo hard ( that's what she said) getting all the different audio quality to jive as you mention in your notes. Even though you mention it, that doesn't really convey all the hours and days, not to mention equipment/ software that must have gone into that. Plus the time to listen to so many shows, not like that part wasn't enjoyable, im sure. Love and appreciate your liner notes too. One comment I have about the actual music, as I mentioned in another bootleg s comments is, I am blown away by Dez Dickerson's playing and is that Jesse on "I feel for you"???? I thought heard Prince call him out by name. Lol, I think Dez did have a couple of cocktails before his solo in "All the Critics.....", Lol, but that's ok... I've been there myself quite a bit back in the day. I've been listening without skipping around, I'm at "computer blue", using my sweet JBL headphones and I have to say you have done an outstanding job smoothing out the differences in audio quality, it's all meshing really nicely. Omg!!! (If I keep editing this as I listen along it's going to be a very long comment...lol) this arrangement of "erotic city" is Soo freakin cool!! Damn! I love it when Prince plays that clean-toned funk on his giitar!!
I hope part 2 has Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad and I Wanna Be Your Lover from the Capital Theater gig. The way the first song ends and the way the second begins are integral to his ability to play live.
Thank you for putting out the listening companion. Amazing. I have to ask if you have the complete Rupert’s charity event for Big Chick for the Nude Tour rehearsal? I was there and Prince put the mic in front of me for The Future and shook my hand. It was an amazing night. I was front row with his stepsister, the Time, The Family, etc. Incredible. If you have the video or sound from The Future opening from that show it would mean the world to me. Thank you.
Does anyone know why he had Dez Dickerson solo on guitar instead of doing it himself? I'll be listening to interviews until I find out!! According to Jimmy Jam and a guy named Pepe that knew him before he got signed he was incredible already!! I must know!!
This version of Sometimes It Snows In April needed more rehearsal. That chorus wasn't as clean as it could've been. The most challenging line in the whole piece starts off with, "Sometimes I feel..." and that last word needs to be clear since the harmony changes for a second.
I understand that this work is not for sale, but can I make a donation to you for a copy of this work, for the work and dedication that you put into mixing this masterpiece?
The beat to The Ballad of Dorothy Parker sounds like the Yellowjackets!! Was he a fan? lol Incredible drumming!! If that's still Bobby Z, I take my hat off to that dude!! I'm impressed!! Damn. And Adore is another one of Prince's masterpieces. No one else can make a ballad as slick and smooth as that. From the lyrics to the singing to the bridge. Right after the laid back intro it goes directly into the chorus then to the first verse!! Simply marvelous. It even has a bit of humour in the middle. Very cool song. He couldn't have made this when he put together his debut album. No way!! His whole sound and approach had to develop. What Did I Do, The Cross, People Without, Lovesexy and Anna Stesia are all garbage though, sadly enough. We still heard some good ones!!
Was the entire NPG Jehovah's Witnesses? Cause at one point Prince told Morris Day he couldn't feel comfortable collaborating with him unless they could 'pray' together. PRINCE, Sorry I don't need another lover!!! ❤ Lisa
From about 83 to 89 he was untouchable. Truly the best
From 1979 to 1987, ( from Prince album to Sign Of The Times album ), he was the most innovative force in popular music of that era.
Untouchable from 1979 - .... 💜
His musicogy tour and welcome to America reached another performance peak of so many peaks during his career
« What did I do » is just amazing!!
