I know people hate her "fake voice", but IT'S A CHARACTER! I actually dig that she does it. I think it's fun and campy! When she used her real voice in drag during episode 2 I took it as a sign that she was losing confidence in herself.

First when I saw him I was like whaaaaaaat, but in just a small amount of time, I really got sucked in and I just think she knows what she's doing, she was just shy first. I hope she returns to show what's good. Besides her lipsync was so much more entertaining...
You have to remember too. Editing plays a huge part on dragrace. They tell the story they want you to see. We're all suckers and believe whatever they dish up. A lot of footage is cut and they make sure to show every time James pouts or doesn't say something so we think he's timid and unsure of himself. Truth is the show isn't the entirety of any of those queens. I agree with others, I wouldn't sleep on James. Look at Shangela when we first saw her to what she is now. We thought Trixie was unpolished and amateur at first. Now she I'd one of the most successful to come out of her season.

We need a season of all stars of all the queens eliminated in the first 3 weeks, we don't see enough of these queens. Guarantee you Jaymes knows more makeup skills and herstory than half of those new young queens do

If jaymes was on pretty much any other season he wouldve made it at least 4-6 episodes in but because everyone on s9 does such a different thing it's judged a little differently and I feel bad for making fun of jaymes in the promo cause everyone else is a look queen but nothing else

Are you really that naive to believe everything they show in drag race is real? They DID him dirty. Those editors can cut, edit scenes to make him look weak, thus making it a "justifiable elimination". Did you even pay attention when you watched episode 1? Jaymes Mansfield is so cute and funny! I really love him, BUT I wish he would either find a mat lip product that works for him, or change the amount of over lining the top lip. To me the high gloss just accentuates the fact that it is above the natural lip. It kind of reminds me of when your lips are so chapped you put balm all over your skin and have a weird glossy "mustache". I don't know if this is only because of lighting on camera, maybe in person it looks great? I've never had the pleasure of seeing him perform in person. Or maybe he doesn't know it looks so shiny on tv?. I know he commented about how bad his nude lip looked in episode 1, and hdtv makeup is so different from stage makeup. Whatever, still love him, but if I could have my way, I would change the lip shape, or the shiny lipstick. I don't mind the shape, isn't that called a 1940s smear when you take away the Cupid's bow?

Saying no shade doesn't eliminate a negative comment. Maybe be constructive about it? However, James on his channel does have videos on how to do padding. Also I know this is a old comment so I'd love to mention he has improved so much since then.

some people are lucky and have flawless skin. others use products to keep it clear. also washing all the makeup off before sleeping helps
anal lease keating Not a drag queen, but I do wear make up. My trick is a use miceler water to wipe the main stuff off, and then wash the rest off in the shower with my normal face cleaning gel (from simple). The hot water, I think, makes the remaining and stubborn make up loosen up so that it is easier to wash away.
