I worked security for the Dead's last concert in Pittsburgh and I was guarding the dressing room when they can back for the break. Jerry Garcia looked like he had been dead for 5 years or so. It literally took my breath to see him up close. He was dead a month later.

"The ABC's we all must face Try to keep a little grace" The Alphabet People Term used to describe the community of people that have reserved one third of the alphabet for themselves as a way to self identify and refer to each member's preferred noun in one acronym. Used as a non offensive term to acknowledge said group and save yourself some time trying to remember each letter in the ever growing acronym. Hopefully avoiding verbal backlash for not taking the time to remember it.

He was a real live "DANCING BEAR" Jerrys mentioned that their name The Greatful Dead came from their belief in The Death of the Ego. (We could use a lot of that right about now) My friend Tommy was at peace within. Hes the ONE person I've met in my life that lived up too that lived without Ego. And it's not a "I don't care" attitude. It's quite the opposite. He cared about EVERYTHING, WITH HIS WHOLE HEART. Which made him a very strong peaceful Advocate, he always supported a cause, speaking inspirational words, helping a friend or, of course, listening to The Grateful Dead while dancing around the room. He served his family, his community & the world. He laughed a lot. Always had a smile. (Never painted on) I was honored to have a front row seat to observe him and how he handled life for the 2 years that we lived together. When I would worry he would say, with that smile "Oh ye of little Faith" Don't get me wrong, he did get upset/sad as any human being does. His response, if he did respond to whateve was upsetting him would be a kind one. You taught me so much T! And in your passing you've taught me even more. 😔 You will be greatly missed by SO MANY TOMMY O!! ✌ 🥰 ✌
