Still have my NightFire F7 EFI. A spring special order from my local Cat dealer back in 2003. No reverse, no elec start, as light as I could order it. Un-altered, still has original carbides. Only 840 miles on the OD, and like brand new - stored in my attached garage. I miss riding, just no snow for years around these parts. Perhaps time to sell ? But I will keep the cast model 😉.
Congrats on finding your Nightfire Eric and big thanks for making the videos. I'm smiling because like Gary above ( and I agree, don't sell it :) I have a stock 04 Nightfire EFI with maybe 1000 original miles on it as well. Super mint shape. It's stored and I'm way down south for the last 3 years so hopefully one day I'll get back to it ... I'll definitely be watching for your updated videos and be learning through you. All the best with the sled and I hope you enjoy the heck out of it this winter !!!
The clutching you're doing reminds me of when I dialed in the clutching on my 2002 ZR 800, that I put a 900 top end in. The ZR used the same clutches that your F7 uses and I went with similar weights and helix's that you are trying. I remember I adjusted my gearing slightly too, made it a tad taller. Looking forward to your videos of getting the rest of the clutching dialed in. All our snow melted here in the Kingston, ON area too. Long range is looking good, fingers crossed.
I used to have a zr 900, loved it. Before I bought this f7 it was between this and an 03 zr 900. I just like the nightfire too mu so I had to go with that. One day I'd like to build a nice 03 900
I was just lameting the lack of snow and storms here. We basically will have a three to four month riding season at most. That's not nearly enough for the amount of time and expense these things are. Meanwhile up in BC they've had one big storm after another since Thanksgiving. Not that I'd want to live in Canada...
Yeah the winters the last 5 years or so haven't been great. Probably 3 month riding season like you said. I contemplated building a mountain sled and going out to BC a couple times a season as I have a couple buddies that go
12-164-20 appears to be the right one on the royal distributing website where I bought this one. I don't have the exact part # for this one because I bought it about 10 years ago but I think the # I posted is the same one
That's the F7 night fire edition. Awesome snowmobile.
Sure is, thanks man appreciate it 🤘

@garysmith8455 if it was me I'd keep it, because I know if I sold it, I'd never find another one. Honestly I'd love to have a night fire.
