    I don't know about this egg souffle before but I went to a korean restaurant at my place and they serve this as the side dish and it took me by surprise. It was so good so here I am, looking throughout the recipe.

    I made this Korean Steamed Egg for the first time!
    Changes: I used unsalted chicken broth
    Results: The egg was nice and fluffy and tasty. BUT, for my personal palate it was too salty.
    Next time, I will use 1.5 tsp of salt and fish sauce.
    Thank you!

    • @SeonkyoungLongest
      @SeonkyoungLongest  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      moochimichimoo If you want to enjoy the silky texture, I recommend not to add too much other ingredients, but doesn't mean you can't taste the silky texture at all. I personally like with no other ingredients, even the green onion I put on top it was because of the video and picture. lol So try both way and find out what you like better! :-)

    Seonkyoung Longest Hi really want to try this, but is there anything that could substitute for the fish sauce? Ever since I was a kid I never really got into the taste of that, and the though of buying a bottle of it for one recipe might not work for me. Also are you guys in the East Bay area? If you like ice cream there is a REALLY good ice cream parlor called Fentons, it was made famous from that Pixar movie UP. Good ice cream and they have American diner food too. There's one not too far from Travis AF base in Fairfield. When I visit my parents up there I always try to go. Love your videos, keep up the great work!

    • @SeonkyoungLongest
      @SeonkyoungLongest  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Flores It's depending on what stock you are going to use. If you are using the Korean ultimate stock or chicken stock, it's fine to substitute with salt. :-) Thank you for the recommendation of the ice cream place! Jacob and I love ice cream, so definitely will check it out!! :-D

    • @leonardpearlman4017
      @leonardpearlman4017 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A bottle of fish sauce costs a few dollars and I think will never spoil. The perfect thing to sit in your fridge forever, like that dear old bottle of tomato catsup, I can't remember buying that... maybe it came with the house? But if you don't want it at all, just use a good dose of MSG or super seasoning of some kind, stock powder? Dashi-no-moto? There are so many stock powders, all are full of flavor enhancers.

    Instead of the fish sauce, can you use shrimp sauce to flavor (the one with the tiny microscopic shrimp)?

    • @ginatheders689
      @ginatheders689 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Patricia Felder Yes you can. My mom is Korean...she uses it instead of fish sauce when she makes this. Btw, you might not need to use as much salt. My mom says the tiny shrimp are salty enough but it's probably based on your taste preference.

    • @leonardpearlman4017
      @leonardpearlman4017 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ginatheders689 That sounds a little challenging. I was thinking of the famous smelly shrimp paste. There's some in my refrigerator, I never do anything with it. Maybe just a little bit? It's the ingredient of terror. I love to tell people: These are some shrimp that were caught a few years ago....

    FYI, when using dollar tree eggs, use 1/4 tsp of SALT instead of 3/4 tsp and 3/4 cup of chicken stock instead of 1 cup. Dollar tree eggs are smaller than the eggs you buy from a normal grocery market.
    I didn’t think with common sense so my eggs came out a bit too salty 😅

    First of all, I like what you did with your hair, but I also liked your long hair too. It was funny when you said "mmm" and it was deep like, and I thought it was funny when you did all those hand gestures at the end.
