The Microtech RAM-LOK is great, a strong lock and good action. I own two Amphibians, aluminum apocalyptic serrated and aluminum stonewashed, one Stitch, aluminum stonewashed and two MSI, one aluminum stonewashed and one FRN stonewashed 30th Anniversary. I personally like the Amphibian the most. The Amphibian has simply a great design, it is one of my favorite folders and I have quite a few knives even from top manufacturers like CKF, Herman or Shirogorov.
If a folder is on bearings it's not a ''heavy duty'' knife. Because bearings are not able to handle dirt, lateral load, etc. The last 10 years have been disastrous since bearings were introduced imho. I don't care about ''guillotine action'', I want my knife to function. Sorry for ranting.
@HelloImCrimson the cut out for the pocket clip is an eye sore. The materials being used are medium shelf to topshelf. The very least they could do is use the same colour as the handle material to fill in the rectangular cutout.

Glad you are doing a review on this one, have been considering another Microtech!
just wanted to point out the spine fail has been fixed by Microtec you can check to see if yours is good or bad based on the date on the pocket clip
Is that a powdered steel blade or is that just some kind of bead blasted finish?
It's there Apocalytic finish.
Cut down boxes? Pshhtt.... i used my CS Raja 2 to cut down trees 😂. In all seriousness though nice blade for sure.
Wise man, a Cold Steel on washers is a damn fine choice.

Visually, it looks like crap to me. The pocket clip on the opposite side isn't cool.
wdym, that is the correct side to put the clip on
