  • My new motorcycle has me in love! The Triumph Scrambler 1200 is aN ADV motorcycle with personality and style. Let’s take this new bike for a ride and see how it compares to the previous adventure/adv motorcycles i have owned from the KTM 890 Adventure, Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, or even the Honda Transalp.
This one really speaks to me!

I have a green '21 1200XC. Only mods I did are the fender extender, and a Dart flyscreen, which does knock some of the wind off your chest, but keeps your helmet in the clean air. I don't tour, so not an issue for me. I don't like looking thru a windshield, or getting helmet buffeting, like with many taller screens. The muffler music is really sweet with the 270 firing order. What a great bike it is!

You might want to try the Dart Marlin screen. It's several inches taller than the one you have in this video and i find it's just enough to take the wind pressure off my chest to do 75-80mph comfortably.

Congrats with your new bike! : ) Remove the bar end mirrors and get the DoubleTake ones and get a new exhaust to improve the sounds!

When I was researching this bike last year the Unit Garage Windshield seemed to be the most popular aftermarket windscreen solution for the XC and XE.

I ordered the triumph tall touring screen, hopefully it helps out some

The garage screen didn't work for me and I was glad it broke.

Enjoy your new ride.I don't think the bar end mirrors suit the bike but I wouldn't have a sleepless night over them.

Grab a tail tidy and a 2-1 exhaust from TEC, some smaller bullet style indicators, barkbusters (stock ones break on first drop trust me), different air filter (since the 21 model you can no longer remove the snorkel sadly) and a tune and you are sorted. There is an aussie company that make barend mirrors for off road (they fold nicely when dropping the bike). Seat needs to go check out crafton atelier. Put some heat insulating foam under the front heat shield. That's it done. I have the XE model from '20 and absolutely love it. Most fun ever and the sound is just next level awesome once you fit a new pipe. Personally I like the raw character and would never put a windscreen on it except for a small one to cover the speedo from bugs. It's like a V8 vintage muscle car but on two wheels ;-)

Yep, the Scrambler is a gorgeous bike. I really like it.
That big 1200 must have plenty of power.
To make it a more all-around bike, you definitely need a bigger windscreen for highway riding.
Those bar-end mirrors have to go. Double Take mirrors would be just the thing for this bike. I have them on both of my bikes.
They are super adjustable and rugged.
    Happy Trails!

  • @GR-cd2kx
    @GR-cd2kx 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Love that color. Some of those windscreens are adjustable even though they don’t look like it. If you haven’t already, it’s worth poking around. IMO take off those mirrors but keep them for other projects (you’ll probably need them on another project). I used to have the 800cc version of the Ducati scrambler - what a well balanced bike that was and surprisingly capable on and off road.

No paint scratches from that tank bag? I want to put one on my Scrambler 1200 but I’m scared of scratching, it’s so pretty!

If you get the factory Triumph tank bag, it comes with a clear film you stick to the tank to protect the paint.

I’ve gotten close to trading my Street Triple in on a Scrambler 1200 XE. You might want to check out Madstad wind screens. I’d get rid of the bar end mirrors on an off-road bike. Me and wife are enjoying your channel, keep it up. The old town exploring video idea sounds awesome.

@@adventureundone Doubt it cause I’m not getting a 24. I don’t care for the downgraded equipment. I’m thinking of keeping it and buying a smaller ADV. The new Himalayan or CF Moto 450 look interesting. Wife wants a Scrambler 400X.

It’s is it throttle by wire or cable? Before I became disabled I almost bought one. I am not a fan of bar end mirrors. I guess I am old school being 50. As far as the bag I’d remove it and go with a bag on the rear rack.

I'm looking at getting a Triumph Scrambler 400x as my first bike. It would be intresting to see a comparison between the Scramber 1200 and the 400x in the dirt. I have a feeing the 400x would do better then most people probably think it would agaist it's more powerful and much heavier older brother in the dirt.

The mirrors are not that bad, but for the bike it is I would prefer the stock ones. That’s a personal preference, of course.
The windshield thing is an issue but that mod, I’m positive that will change the ride and from my point of view for worse. The wind when is too much is like everything that becomes too much, turns bad.
Avoiding highways would do the trick.
The bike is beautiful as a retro style bike, naked style. If you respect that aesthetic logic you will always possess something special. If you go on changing the bike a lot, it might go on a wrong direction. Adapt yourself to the bike more instead of doing the opposite, probably is another useful idea. Riding this bike too fast or on fast tracks, I think that’s missing the point. The soul of this kind of bike is to explore a little non tarmac roads. And on asphalt, to explore the down low grunt and medium range where she behaves and sounds like a queen. This is all about torque and not top end power speeds, as you obviously know. So, each one to its own. This bike is perfect on a lot of aspects and simply not suited for others. That’s why I think we have to try having a garage full of them !😍
    That’s an honorable goal👌🏻

Dude.... I'm watching you because I'm addicted to changing bikes too. It's starting to become a problem for me. Last season I had tracer 900, then f850GS and the Africa twin AS EERA DCT. Right now I'm considering my life choices and wondering if I should change. Let's get real, to do a serious offroad on a big ADV bike you need to be a real pro.... so maybe I should just stop on africa, use it for touring and buy a second small offroad bike?

    • @adventureundone
