I know this sounds crazy, but cats are actually so much easier when you have two. They are pack animals and sooo much happier in pairs (there are obviously exceptions but it sounds like Simba isn’t one of them.) I’d totally recommend adopting a kitten from the shelter to go be a friend for him and that way you avoid any engrained behaviors from an older cat too that might make the transition more difficult. It makes heading out for the day a lot easier too because I don’t feel so guilty knowing they have eachother, and same with sleeping at night. They cuddle and it’s so cute. The honest truth is that they still wake up crying at my door in the morning buuuuut I think that would be fixed with an automatic feeder too! For mine it’s just bc they’re hungry haha. Anyways I totally think it’s worth doing especially orange cats, they are sooo social and friendly. Get him another little orange cat brother! 🥲🥰
actually cats are solitary animals and whether they'll do well with another cat is quite up to their personalities! but ditto on not feeling guilty when you leave them - it's nice for them to have a friend. I have two cats as well, and although they don't cuddle at all I think they do benefit from seeing another feline esp when we're not around~
100% yes, cats are easier in pairs if they have a similar energy/close age match. They play, groom & sleep together & are more content, requiring less from you ❤
Aww Simba deserves a companion the way we all deserve companions. Luckily there are tools that can make our lives easier i.e. Robot Vacuum Cleaner, so look into something like that if you're worried about cleaning cat hair ❤❤.

I think its really beneficial for cats to have companions, I have two and they are best friends! They play and sleep together, I think that as long as I have cats I will have two so that they do have each other.

I love the way you decorated the cabinet, and it's meant for decoration so not everything is meant to be used. Plus it makes it easier to maintain when you are not using the stuff inside the cabinet on a daily basis..so to me I love the idea plus it's beautiful ❤️
Definitely agree cats are better in pairs once we got our first cat a little brother he was so much better behaved and much happier. They now are inseparable so I definitely think you should consider getting him a little friend from the shelter 🥰
I think Simba would enjoy a friend, especially because he is used to having other animals around him and is probably very lonely.
We got a second cat because we also felt bad leaving the house and not letting her sleep in our room and it was the best thing we ever did!! At first they were unsure but now they are best friends it is the sweetest thing seeing them together 🥹 We have a Siamese and a rag doll. It’s nice too since they’re awake a lot during the night they have each other to play with! we got them a butterfly that spins from Amazon and they love playing with it when we can’t play with them (if we’re gone or sleeping).

I work in cat rescues and I 100% recommend getting him a friend! It is definetely easier when you have two cats because they keep each other busy and tire each other out. It also will improve Simba's quality of life! Also, I'm sure he will be less destructive towards your furniture because he can get that energy out on another cat! Definitely consider reaching out to local cat rescues and they can recommend a cat based on your needs and Simba! You can foster first to see if the cat is a right fit before you officially adopt!
I went from one cat to two because of the same reason and I don’t regret it. Yes there is more hair but the only difference will be adding another litter box and feeding two instead of one but cats are awesome and fun. Now I leave my house with peace of mind that they have each other especially when we travel. Also people that are not cat owners are very judgmental about counter tops and training your cat but they don’t understand that cats run the house 😂 and you learn to work around it because you love them, so don’t let anyone pet shame you! Obviously if you don’t want another cat you shouldn’t feel guilty about it but the fear of a second cat is really only if yours doesn’t like other animals, aside from that they really make your day. And this is coming from someone who was scared of cats her whole life until I needed a companion at home, now I wish I could have a house full but I limit myself to two because they are an expense to consider ❤ love your vlogs!
Hey girl! Think of training your kitties just like bringing up a child, if you didn’t want your kid to repeat a behavior, you wouldn’t reward them when they’re doing something you don’t want them to make a habit of. If you toss Simba a piece of food to get him off the table, he’s just learned “mom gives me snacks for getting on the table”! It could be confusing to a kid or a kitty! I love my cats too much. I had to get mine a brother to play with. They def sleep with us in our room. I treat them like my kids, they are just so adorable. My mom always says to be careful of what your cat wants because it can't talk for itself! And we chose to take care of them :)
Amanda you are doing an amazing job on your decor. It looks so cozy and classic! I would agree on the TV for down stairs to be a little bigger. My husband was same as you wanting a bigger tv and I was against it lol. After getting it omg it’s soo good! I love how close you are to your in laws. I am the same and I think it’s so important to have that bond. I wish I could give you a recommendation for having another cat but i’d reckon that wouldn’t be a bad idea. I always enjoy your vlogs and never skip your ads lol!

Definitely get simba a friend. We rescued a cat in February this year and he’s turned into a different cat since we brought 2 friends into the house. He’s more playful and very animated now. He gets territorial but it’s so cute seeing them bond and play together. Would definitely recommend. We’re considering getting a 4th cat now 😅
3:30 yes, get Simba a friend 😍😍 I have 2 cats (sisters actually) and even though my heart breaks every time I have to run errands, I definitely feel LESS guilty because they’re always together. I wouldn’t have it any other way❤

I’m definitely vote for an extra pet. I had a dog and my mom gave me another cat, and in the end I think fur will always be fur, because we always need to clean anyway. And with another friend pets become so much easy, because they have someone to play.

I got another cat for my male orange kitty and it was the best decision I ever made, they are both boys and indoor cats they have the cutest relationship they play together sleep together and groom each other, we also are out the house a lot so it’s nice they have each other! Definitely worth the investment ❤
He will be so happy with a companion, they will play and groom each other, so much more interesting for him, I’d say go ahead! We used to have cats but my hubby hated the fur and they are now passed away, but I miss it so much!
Another pet is definitely so much healthier for Simba, especially when he is alone. We also had our first cat alone for a year but recognised she felt so alone and got our second cat, best decision ever.
Especially simba was used to have fur friends it’s definitely difficult adjustment for him 😢

Amanda. Don’t get the 65 inch it will still be small for the space.. if I were you get your blue tape out and measure 75 inch or 80 inch tv and see if you like it.. I think 65 will still be small.. alao something I learned you don’t measure horizontally, you measure a tv on an angle.. tv measuring tip just in case. 📐 house is lookin beautiful.. live that cabinet ❤
About the garlic smell, I used to suffer from the way it sticks to my hands, but I discovered that when you rub your hands with lemons after washing them and then give your hands another good soap wash the smell goes away completely! Try it out!
Love your videos! I do think Simba would calm down some having a younger companion. However, I also think it's important to figure out if you'll have the time to care for multiple pets especially if you plan on having a growing family soon. A lot of changes at once can affect a cat's behavior. Not saying you guys would do this.. but a lot of pet parents end up giving their pets away when they realize the amount of work it is and if they are out of town often. This isn't to discourage you but just so that you can make a well thought out decision:) I do think you guys could handle it and having a litter robot would be especially useful for a multi cat home. Not sure if you have heard of the product Feliway but it's a plug in diffuser that has natural pheromones that helps to calm cats and especially in multi cat homes/changing environment/routine. I think it would help Simba now regardless if you choose to get another fur baby. Another piece of advice is to get a female kitten if you decide to get another cat. Male kittens that are not from the same litter may be more territorial with each other. Not saying it can't work but may be a little easier for them to be bff! My two kitty boys are about 6 months apart and I feel like we just made the cut off for them to be buddies haha Hope this helps!

i think it would be a really good idea to get another cat based off of the fact that simba is used to company and especially because he sleeps alone at night. just be really careful when introducing the new cats to each other, make sure to do it slowly and step by step. even if simba is a friendly cat you never know if he will start fighting with the new cat etc. hope it all goes well!!🤍

I have had a single and now 2. 2 isn't anymore work and if you are worried about hair get a roomba. They are great.
Also I have trained my cats to sleep on their beds or blankets so it isn't all over the furniture but 2 really doesn't make much of a difference.
Only recommendation with the cabinet is maybe switch out a vase on the 3rd row with something else! The 3 vases together looks a bit off. I definitely don't think its too cluttered!

What’s that expression ‘In for a penny, in for a pound’? I feel like once you have A pet, you might as well have two. You’re already feeding, cleaning, etc. I don’t think there is as much additional work as you might anticipate and keeping Simsim happy will make you happier

I say get Simba another cat friend. Look for a hypoallergenic-ish cat if youu're worried about the hair. And get an air purifier. That's helped me a lot!

The cabinet is beautiful❤, indeed some people will like it, some dont, but dont worry Amanda...you know what is best for you :). Regarding getting another cat, tbh I have 7 cats(I have saved them from being stray cats on the streets). I agree the tv looks small for the wall. Maybe switch the upstairs and downstairs tvs? I would maybe wait till you get your console...(unless you’re pressed for the return window). I actually never really liked mounted TVs unless you sit at the proper distance, so maybe you want to place it on the console. Also another person suggested tapping the size of the tv on the wall to see how it looks. I think that would help you make your decision.
I don’t have a pet, but I think that maybe you could “borrow” some of mohammed’s Family’s cars for a trial to see how it’s with 2 cats. Or you could try fostering from a shelter if no one wants to let you borrow. Good luck

Be prepared to clean the whole day with 2 cats. Non stop!!! I would NOT do it only because of that!

I’m gonna be honest with you, 2 cats isn’t always the best. I had two (they were siblings), and they hated each other. There were constant fights and hissing, and they just didn’t mesh well together. Eventually, one of them ran away :/ it’s been almost 7 years now, and the one remaining has been very content.

I love cats they do well together just make sure you fix them and save a cat from the pound instead of a breeder😊
Although I am not a cat person, I advise you to get another cat, because you are already doing so much for Simba, so now you only have to do the same work twice, nothing new. The advantages of getting another cat in my opinion outnumbered the disadvantages especially that you'd not be guilty of not being around, and you could get enough sleep in the morning :P Love you Amanda and Good luck!

I have a lot of experience with cats and i would say only get another cat if you know for sure that Simba gets along with other cats/animals. I also have found that getting another cat around the same age as Simba would be ideal.
You would want to get a cat that has around the same energy levels as him. Assuming you are getting one from a shelter, look for one that has been around other cats his/her whole life!!

Af first i had only one cat and she would be so lonely and she seems really lonely. But then she died after giving birth to two babies and trust me i was doo happy having two instead of one. They would fo everything together and they were not lonely and i could easily leave them knowing they have each other’s company. But then you have to get the same breed as Simba. IA they will adapt easily.. With Simba’s breed there won’t be soo much hair.
Hi Amanda, I think u shd get a 75inch tv, not 65inch. The 65 will prolly make no difference to your current one. And I love how you dont give a damn about what anyone says about your cabinet. I personally love it and am inspired to get something similar!
