It's an Orvis Bamboo "Battenkill" Rod made in the 1950's. The reel was hand made by David Robichaud in Hudson, New Hampshire. He made the reels up until the mid 1990's when, as I understand it, his business closed for failure to pay taxes. Robichaud fly reels are well-regarded classic fly reels. You can search on Google under D.L. Robichaud fly reels if interested in learning more, and they occasionally show up in auctions and on ebay. This is how I acquired mine.
@@michaelwoehrl1746 Hi, I do own and fish Granger rods, but this rod is a Orvis Bamboo "Battenkill" Rod made in the 1950's. It was originally owned by a fellow in Newton, Ma and I don't think it was ever fished. I gave it to my daughter, but she keeps it with me, so now I'm curious and will need to take it out and take a closer look at the reel seat. I've owned rods where prior owners would have their reel seats changed - and in one case I was able to contact the original maker of an expensive rod, Bob Summers - a Paul Young "Driggs", to remove a modern Orvis style reel seat and return the rod to it's original configuration.....
Beautiful stuff. I got to paddle board the upper Henry’s fork last year and that water was crystal clear. Huge rainbows. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! It is beautiful and the people you run into out there couldn't be more friendly.
Love the look on that springwater, the trout growing up there must be real happy :)
The trout were clearly well fed, and natural protection from predators
One of my favorite rivers to fish in the area. Was up there today in fact. Beautiful place! Great video!
It is! Thanks for your comment.
Another great video!
Thanks again!
What was your rod and reel set up for the day?

Classic rod and reel! Nice small stream gear
@@RemoteFlyFishing The reel seat looks like a Granger?

@@RemoteFlyFishingif it’s a Granger reel seat it will have the stamp on it. Looks like a nice rod regardless.
