I don't keep duplicates. I have over 2k movies. But I like a curated.collection that I love to.look at in one place
70 blurays gone, 8 of which you just flat out don't like and the rest duplicates. Great video. I watched it twice. How dare someone text me while I'm watching Sue.

I probably have close to 550 or so I need to get rid of. They are have all been upgraded to either steelbooks or 4Ks or just have multiple copies. Some of them are brand new still sealed as well. I have them in plastic containers right now and have a google sheet with all the titles. I just haven't gotten around to doing anything with them.
Really not buying media lately. Between Paramount plus,Disney Plus ➕️, Prime video and Netflix. I think I'm good on buying unless it's a necessity..
Your video here just made me remember i need to do the exact same thing. This is always so hard for me to do, but if we don't, then we end up with Blu-rays literally everywhere. I'm also in the middle of just downsizing things in my life that i never look at, never bother with. So just like you are planning to do, they will go somewhere where they'll be appreciated. Fantastic video. Oh and can i ask you to send me ... Hahaha I'm kidding. Seriously I'm joking. Enjoyed this purge video 👍🏽

What if the blu-rays and 4Ks don't have the sam special features? I have dvds where the special features is miles better than on the 4K!
I can't keep something just because of special features. It's not that important to me personally.
I purge once a year. It's refreshing because I feel like I'm making space for new 4k's

I believe you are doing the right thing Sue, we collectors need room for our collection, 3,4, 5 copies of the same movie, no way. This is healthy, I rarely keep duplicates myself ! Great video, as usual from you, thank you very much !!
I'm sorry but to me 4k is overrated it's not that big of an upgrade I will stick with Blu rays yes I do have some 4ks in my collection but they all included the Blu Ray plus price example I got the 4k Blu ray combo paks of the first 6 star wars films for 9 dollars a piece brand new or another example is I picked up the scream factory Halloween 4k Blu rays combos because it was the only way to get premium Blu ray versions they need to get rid of 4k and bring back 3d Blu ray that was a true upgrade

I haven't yet made the jump to 4k & i still have a few DVDs (remember those!) in my collection.
Twice a year, i will go through my stuff (including books, games & CDs) & make a pile to send off or take to my local cancer charity shop.
It feels good to have a purge every now & then... even better if you can make some cash out of it 👍
I picked up the ‘Titanic’ 4K, but I still kept the BluRay because there are different special features on both. I want every single special feature made…
If you decide to part with the ‘Rebel Without a Cause’ BluRay, please, please, triple please. I’ll happily pay you for it!

Fun watch! Very interesting just getting your insight. I have a box of blu rays I need to get rid of due to upgrading but I’m lazy and I haven’t put them up for sale as of yet. U may have given me the the inspiration to do something about that
Susan yes a purge/ review of your collection is a good idea. Sometimes extras are not carried over to the 4K for many reasons
As am unpacking and organizing my collection in the new place. Am sorting into purge boxes. I still have alot of my DVDs and most of those can go
Susan, just make sure you’re not getting rid of the blu-Ray version of T2 that has the hidden director’s cut included.
As I mentioned in the video, I have 2 blu-ray copies, so that's why one is going.

I hope the version of T2 that you're keeping is the same disc as the one you got rid of, since that version of T2 is the best one released so far in terms of image quality lol. Same transfer as the earlier VC-1, but on a 50GB disc in AVC instead - way better. And the original scan is from the DVD era so no DNR!
I also hope you have the special edition blu-ray disc from The Dark Knight Trilogy elsewhere, since that's the only way to see the full 1.43 IMAX footage...

Theres actually still a reason to keep them, sometimes companies put extra special features on a blu ray disc then they make the 4k version and sometimes its missing features that the blu ray had. I hate that they do this but if you actually care about the extra content on the disc should probably keep it. I know with the Inglorious Basterds 4k release they left out features on the new blu ray and 4k disc in the package, also the 4k looks really bad for its release.
I don't keep movies just for bonus features. If I did, I wouldn't have any room for new items.
@@MoviesSue yeah it sucks, idk why they leave out old features and bonus content like behind the scenes stuff when they make a 4k release. Doesn't always happen but its happened with quite a bit of the movies I own it just sucks. We're getting less
