Thanks for the drive. After not driving one since 1978.... every detail of that beautiful car rush upon me. From the rattles to the sound and seemingly powerful engine to the shaker hood scoop...I escespellialy remember the not so smooth ride on bad roads.

Owner states he has "had a bunch of these cars" and that this one has a "shaker bubble" (shaker hood). By now one might expect he concentrate on the magical W72 option but nope, the engine bay houses an Olds small block 403 capable of a "mighty" 185 hp and of course "sporting" an automatic transmission. Other than that, Heritage Brown was one of the least popular colors in '79 but in 2024, when coupled with the camel hobnail seats and proper decal package, is very stylish

Roads appear to be just like here at home in Michigan! So many videos are shot over smooth roads in the South and out West most people don't realize the harsh ride you get. Even when they were new, this video is about as real as you can get with these cars. Thanks for your honesty!

Amazing original condition, love this trans am. I have a 81' TA factory heritage brown, tan leather, fisher t tops, ws6. Same options as this one except for the year. Mine came factory with a 4.9 301. Unfortunately mine didn't get the same treatment as this one did over the years so it's now blue/blue with black interior. It's been upgraded to a 455 HO however. I plan on restoring it back to brown/tan, this video is definitely a motivator! Great looking TA.

What do you think of the 80-81 turbo trans ams? It would be awesome to see a video of one.

@flubyux2 Thanks. Yeah, this one had every option available with the exception of the WS6 package. I suppose it could have had the power antenna as well. I believe the WS6 without the rear discs is known as a WS7.

@Gamble1911 That's not a "mistake," that's the difference between dynamic balancing and static balancing. Dynamic balancing is superior.

@flubyux2 rear disc came with WS6 in '79 but pontiac ran out of disc rear ends so some cars were drum rear and yes they were called WS7

Have the wheel weights installed on the inside of the rim. Common mistake.
