- Thrash metal is one of the best metal genre, I wanted to show some albums that need to be shown more. These are the albums that are normally not picked for favorite thrash album lists, so I will show them love in this video. Here is the links:

Totally in agreement on Exumer, Atrophy, Destruction and Heathen.
I've always felt the Gathering from Testament is an underrated album. In most discography rankings and stuff I've seen, The Gathering usually ends up in the middle or even lower halfs for most people, but it's personally my third favourite Testament album just behind The Legacy and The New Order.
The Gathering rules! It's my number 2 behind the Legacy, Low is number 3 for me. Love all their albums, I have them all. Band rules!
I've been listening to that Flotsam album for 30 years. Love it, It's my favorite of theirs actually.

Heathen is my favorite from your list...love it...especially "Open the Grave"(the guitar duel at the end is out of this world) and "Goblins Blade"... Lee Altus(Exodus,Die Krupps) never disappoints..master of killer riffs

Man those are excellent albums Steve! Flotsam and Jetsam have alot of underrated albums! Atrophy is a killer band! That Anthrax album is one of my favorites by them!! Great stuff!!
Hell yes, dude, when that Anthrax album first came out, I played it for weeks. That Flotsam and Jetsam is badass, I don't see anyone talk about it so I figured o would but it in thos video. On a sidenote, I found your instragram account and sent you a message. Thank yoy for watching!
Atrophy and Hearhen are killers! Thrash perfection! A few other underrated thrash classics include Paradox (Heresy), Onslaught (The Force), Realm (Endless War), Sacrilege BC (Party with God), Sacrifice (Forward to Termination), Rigor Mortis (Rigor Mortis)
Absolutely agree on the albums you included! I am planning to make a vinyl version of this video, Paradox, Whiplash, Destructor, INC are a few that will be on it. Love these underrated gems.
We played "Burial at Sea" by Darkness live with my first band back in 1990, still got a video tape of that. I still have my "Defenders of Justice" shirt that I bought at a show years and years ago. Atrophy were the last band I´ve seen live in March 2020, never been to a show again since then. Yeah, Destruction´s "Cracked Brain" rules! Funny enough, ex-singer Schmier released his debut album with Headhunter the same year and it has a song called "Crack Brained" on it, hahaha...
I need to check that Headhunter album out! I didn't know he released a soli album. That is historical that he had a song called Cracked Brain on it. Never hot to see Darkness live but that is a bucket list band to see for me. Atrophy is so damn good. I seen them live a long time ago with Blessed Death. Live to see that Burial At Sea cover!

Fantastic collection of albums! I have to spin some of these again, haven't listened to that Darkness and Target in ages. And don't worry, that Heathen is getting all the love it deserves, it's one of my all time favorites. Better than the second! I have to do a response to this one.

Absolutely!! German thrash is my favorite. I am biased though as I was born in Germany, Heidenhiem is where my mother's side of the family and this is the town I was born in. My father was in the military. We moved to the US when I was 8 years old.

Some good stuff there. It definitely pays off to go beyond the top tier of thrash bands. There's so much quality stuff to explore. The Visitör one is excelkent! :) 'Mission Executed' is good, but I think the other album they did - 'Master Project Genesis' - is much better.
Still looking for Target Master Project Genesis, agreed it is a killer album.

Rising from the sea is one of my favorite albums ever
I dig it a lot, it is heavy as well, Possessed By Fire is my favorite but Rising From The Sea is a very close 2nd.

Something new that might be of interest - technical thrash debut from Canadian band Dissimulator. Album is Lower Form Resistance released by 20 Buck Spin.

Excellent choices! These are all bands I know but some of the album choices are ones I have really neglected.

Awesome video Steve, great list of underrated Thrash albums! I only know the Anthrax and Death Angel albums, Frolic is a great album though I've never been the biggest fan of State of euphoria. I don't know Target or Visitor, I think I remember you showing Target in the past. Need to check out some Exhumer, Darkness and Flotsam and Jetsam, just never given them any time. Exhumer sounded great! I haven't listened to much Heathen and Destruction, definitely need to check out more. And Atrophy put a new album out this year that I've been meaning to check out as well! 😊🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks Josh! Yea, State of Euphoria seems to be not for everyone but I've always liked it. I remember when it was first released.. I'm old 😂. Target is outstanding but several people in the comments have mentioned they like their sophomore album better. It's a fun video to do and had fun recording this one. Agreed, just typically not talked about compared to the bigger bands, or other albums in these particular band's discography.
@@stevesekora Metallica been shit since 1988 but sadly fans still prefer them over the cool stuff. Mordred is a band I'd add too.
@@theycantallbezodiac absolutely agree on that Mordred! I need to get another copy of their debut next time I order. Metallica get to much attention but I still dig their stuff. But you are right, their records are hard rock album now days.

Yea, it's sorta weird to have it on this album. But seems that Thrash Metal Bands always picked the wrong song to cover on their album. Metallica made better choices and left them off the studio albums.
Yeah, most thrash bands are pretty bad at doing covers of classic rock songs. Dark Angel's version of Immigrant Song is AWFUL.
