After hearing Nancy sing with Disturbed, I wanted to go back and hear this awesome group from my teenage years again. They still blew me away.

I would recommend You react to Heart doing Stairway To Heaven at Kennedy Center 2012 in front of the surviving members of Led Zeppelin. Ann was then 62. Please chose the Full Version of that performance.
You really need to watch the tribute to Led Zepplin at the Kennedy Center Honors by Heart. Ann was 62 and belted it out of the park...she's in her 70's with Disturbed. She still has it as always
That sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing Mary!
Ann is one of the greatest vocalist ever. Even Floor fell short when covering this IMHO.
One of the best rock ballads ever!
My favorite Heart's song. Have you seen the Heart's tribute to Led Zeppelin at Kennedy's Honor Center? So powerful and emotional. I loved it.
No I’ll have to check it out.
Highly recommended
This is a great rock band that started in the 70's. Ann Wilson has one of the most powerful female voices. And her sister Nancy can play a mean guitar. They have so many great hits such as "Barracuda", "Crazy On You", "Magic Man", "What About Love", "Never", "Dog & Butterfly", "These Dreams" etc. In 2012 Ann & Nancy performed at the Kennedy Center Honors in a tribute to Led Zeppelin doing their classic song "Stairway To Heaven".
Thanks for the great info! They are coming to my hometown. I’m considering going.
You should listen to them singing stairway to heaven at the Kenedy Center, it's amazing
Ann and Nancy have always been incredible. Ann's voice, IMO, is one of the best all time female rock voices. You could make an argument for best all time rock voices period. I remember hearing this version, and watching the video, when it first came out near the end of my high school senior year. Yes version, this 1987 release is a cover of a 1983 song by i-Ten. But obviously Heart's is the definitive version.
There is another version I think you might want to check out. 😁. Floor Jansen covered it during lockdown, accompanied only by piano. It's on her channel.
Man Chris these ladies are awesome. I definitely had a crush on them growing up. I didn’t know Floor covered this. I have to check it out thanks. Also thanks for being a member dude.
The Wilson sisters are amazing, I still love them since 1975. Timeless music.
They are amazing and timeless.
Woman still gives me chills.
With good reason Mark.
Would love for you to check out their acoustic live version of this song from Alive in Seattle.
They were my first concert 1978 dallas texas the barracuda tour. I was 16 so awesome 😊
Man that had to be epic
Barracuda was a song off their "Little Queen" album from 1977, I saw them that August. '78 was their "Dog and Butterfly" album and tour.
I am in my seventies and I have never been a one man band, of course I have my favourites but the sheer amount of amazing music from my youth until now makes me feel blessed to have enjoyed so much. The kids don't know what they missed.
Well said!
Geoffrey Tate of Queensryche, Ann Wilson and her youngest sister Nancy Wilson of Heart, the late Layne Staley of Alice in Chains and the late Chris Cornell of Soundgarden lived in Metro Seattle in the 1970s. They were students of the late singing coach David Kyle. Marilyn Horne and Frederica von Stade were his students from classical music.
Alone. Written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. They wrote songs with/for the late Whitney Houston, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Susanna Hoffs, Christie Hynde, membersvof The Divinyls and others.
Suggested songs 🎵 1 The Bangles perform In Your Room 2 The Divinyls perform I Touch Myself 3 The Pretenders perform I'll Stand by You. 4 the late Whitney Houston songs So Emotional 5 Queensryche performs Take Hold of the Flame 🔥
Thanks for the awesome info!
The song Alone is still played almost everyday on a French Cannadian radio station in Gatineau and Ottawa
Wow thanks for sharing!
This song, released when I was 19, made me buy the entire back-catalogue of Heart.
I totally understand why. I had a few heart albums and singles.
Yeah, my favorite female Rock vocalist along with Linda Ronstadt. Can add the grit on demand. Awesome.
Thanks for watching!
I saw these ladies 47 years ago this August on tour for their 2nd album, "Little Queen" . In fact, it was August 16th, 1977, the day Elvis died. They closed the show with Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" and dedicated it to the King.
This song came about as they started writing with other people to pick their careers back up in the eighties. With the advent of MTV and music videos they began to climb back up the charts. If you noticed Ann is off in the back or in only head shots. She had started to gain weight, and the label didn't think she represented the image the execs had of the band.
I've seen a concert or two in my day and Ann has one of the top three voices in seventies and eighties rock. Plus I was lucky enough to see her live. The other two were Freddie Mercury and Steve Perry.
Thanks for sharing!
Heart was one of my favorite musical groups.
I used to be in love with those two ladies, lol. Ann definitely has a beautiful voice. You are correct about the more simplicity of songs back then. I have been listening to Journey and Def Leppard and many of their songs are along a simple 4 chord progression, but simple is also easy to digest, and a lot of their more famous songs have that sing along chorus (I'm guilty of that at times, lol). Ann had great range, but her sister's harmonies were also nice.
I definitely had a crush on them growing up. Journey and Def Leppard were go tos of mine for sure. I still listen to them and my Jazz band has played Don’t Stop Believein’ several times over my 34 years. Simple can be so good. Take care!
Two other Heart recommendations: "These Dreams" featuring Nancy on lead vocals. And although the studio-version is great, I HIGHLY recommend the 'Live in Seattle' (2002 I believe) which is a stripped down acoustic version that really showcases Nancy and her own range. The second, as others have mentioned, is "Stairway to Heaven - Kennedy Center Honors," however; be sure to listen to the FULL 7:59 version as there are chopped versions out there.
Thanks I’ll have to check them out.
Recommend that you check out Aldious- Dominator, live Radiant A O East.
Pay close attention to the chord changes, and the guitar fills.
check out DELAIN - The Quest and the Curse
The outlaws opened
Hi Bob.
I recommend that you check out Versailles- Faith and Decision live with English Subtitles I think you'd like this song.
Someone once said this song would make great advertising music for a bank. Now it’s all I hear. “How do I get you a loan?”
They ruined it for me 😡
PS You’re welcome 😂
