Fun fact about the band. Foo fighter’s Dave grohl is listed as their drummer and also plays the devil in both the video for tribute and the movie the pick of destiny.
Whenever I see Jack Black doing a little vocal or musical bit while acting, it's like Clark Kent lifting his glasses just enough to let you realize he's Superman
His voice is amazing, Black Jack is great in everything he do
He does*
@@henry247 thank you teacher
@@andrecoutinho12 Np
@@henry247no problem*
@@henry247 He be doin'
Tenacious D got me into learning to play guitar, back in the late 90's.
Want some more? Try one of these Tenacious D songs:
- Tribute
- Wonderboy
- Kickapoo
- Classico
- Master Exploder
Add Dude I totally miss you, Rodie and The ballad of hollywood jack and the rage kage.
What about the Hard F----ing?
@@damienmaynard8892 well.... that comes... later! lol
I REALLY love wonderboy.
@@damienmaynard8892what about "fuck her gently"?
I feel like alot of people forget how insane Jack's voice is because of his funny man reputation. Most people just expect some funny, joking accent with wierd faces, when in reality he has extraordinary talent😅
I went to see the film, "High Fidelity" at the theater when it came out. This was the first time I think I had seen Jack Black in anything. And when he sings Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On", at the end of the film, I was floored and not entirely convinced it was him. About a year and half later, their eponymous album dropped and I listened to it over and over and became a D fan.
I like the username dog🤘
Tenacious D is a legit respected 'Rock Band', loved by Fans and their peers. Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters LOVES those guys, and Dave Grohl also loves Queen, so you know he has taste.
Please more Tenacious D! 🤘
I promise!
@@rayactionsThe ballad of Hollywood Jack needs to be on your list
@@rayactions Take Kickapoo from Pck of Desteny. The Father of young JB was a great and famous singer, too ;)
Kage and Jables are amazing. Been listening to them for over 20 years now.
The H.I.M. version is a full song cover! It's very good.
If you like this, because it is great, check out Tribute
I have heard a version of Tribute in which they play bits of ‘Stairway to Heaven’, but I suspect someone forced them to take them out.
Great job with your reaction to The cover of Wicked Game from Chris Isaak done there by Tenacious D . Jack Black has a great voice and he's also a great Guitarist.
Jack's probably one of the most explorative singers in the world. I don't think anyone outside of highly trained classical masters has the mastery of his vocal and expressive range. Certainly not the playfulness. He's spent his whole life figuring out every cool sound his mouth can possibly make!
one of my favorite covers of this song growing up is the one by HIM
You should check out their music video to this 😊
They do comedy songs but they are really great musicians.
You are lucky that now you can have the joy of hearing their songs for the first time 😊
Welcome to the D!
Their tribute/cover of Dio's Last in Line is just sublime!
If you want quintessential Tenacious D, listen to "Tribute". Amazing super comedic song.
I'd suggest the official video in order to fully appreciate the "plot"
Go back to the beginning and dig up the original episodes of their HBO show that launched them. It's funny.
I'd be curious to see you do a reaction to this same cover but by the band H.I.M. Ville Valo's interpretation is beautiful as well.
he also did an amazing cover of "let's get it on" in the movie high fidelity
Wait until you find out Tenacious D has their own movie/musical type of movie loosely depicting how the band was formed "how JB and KG met". It's called "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny".
Their version of The Beatles' "You Never Give Me Your Money" is equally amazing...especially if you are a fan of and very familiar with the original (wait until they get to Ringo's drum solo!).
I love their Pinball Wizard/The Who cover.
Stone Sour (which has Corey Taylor from Slipknot as a singer) has also made a cover of the song!
This is a great cover of wicked game also check out the HIM cover it’s amazing.
Tenacious D's is one of my favorites covers......just way too short......IMHO, Diana Ankundinova performs one of the most amazing covers of Wicked Game
As much as I love "The D", my favorite Wicked Game cover is still by the band "HIM". Not enough people react to their stuff.
Yes!! Villi's voice is incredible on that song.
Yes!! HIM is amazing and that’s probably the best version of wicked game!!
Hell yeaahh! Since i found HIM cover, it instantly became my favorite cover of the song
😂😂😂….youngsters! Watching people discover tenacious D! I have messed around and got old!!!
Love how she reacted just like the rest of us like "... But where's the rest of it??"
Thank You for reacting to this. I saw Tenacious D. live at San Diego Comic Con in the 2000s, and they were great! Clearly talented, and yes ... primarily comedic. But iI was not aware of this cover (of one of my fave songs) until I saw your excellent reaction video! Gratitude!!!
Jack Black has my favorite rendition of the National Anthem. Performed at a WNBA game no less. It's incredible!
No wonder why nobody ever saw it.
funfact: Jack black writes theme songs or normale songs for the movies where he is in he have wrote peaches from the movie super mario
and wrote a jumanji song
Yeah Jack Black is a singer before he was an actor and surprise people when I tell them to listen to his music. Hope you react to more Tenacious.
Tenacious D (sort for "Tenacious Defense") is a comedy-rock band that was formed in 1994 by actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass (they were members of the "Actors' Gang", a LA based theatre company founded by Tim Robbins).
Since then, they've released 4 albums, an HBO miniseries, a movie and a webseries.
The old jack Black movie "School of Rock". 🎸
Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
the best movie you can watch in 2023, for sure
Love these!!!
It will be awesome if you reacted to some bluegrass! Like The last knife fighter (The ballad of the last knife fighter) Nickel Creek (This Side), The Steele Drivers (Blue Side of the Mountain)
His voice is f*cking powerful, to quote a lyric.
Jack Blacks voice is flawless. Dude is fkng talented. And mixed with Kage is just M A G I C
I love wicked games ❤❤❤ Jack is so cool too.
He's driven by pure love of music ... and you can clearly feel it.
Kile walking through the sands of time where Jack tries to tame that dragon is something needs to be taught thoughout time.
its great to see someone discovering something new, especially something like tenacious d, jack black has a very unique voice and they do some very fun and awesome songs, theyve done a film called the pick of destiny
Tenacious D is the best band in the world!!! PERIOD.
1:51 love how Kyle smiles here, he knows JB is killing that note
Greatest band in the world! 🤘😆🤘
It's CRAZY to me that you never listened to Tenacious D before! They were pretty popular back in the day. Back when I was in high school Tenacious D came out and yeah, I SUPER dig on it! Tenacious D's flippin' AWESOME! This performance is CLEARLY brief and leaves you wanting more. :P
I hope that you continue to listen to more/other Tenacious D performances. As many others have no doubt and will no doubt recommend - I'll go ahead and hop on the bandwagon to suggest that you check out Tribute! The song's flippin' sun and it's from the early days of Tenacious D with both Jack Black and Kyle Gas. They've been working together all throughout!
Very happy that you enjoyed this one! :)
They are amazing!. If you haven't seen it check out the movie Pick of Destiny which I think is written by them. The Pick of Destiny Intro song is amazing also.
If you think this is good, listen to HIM's version. Thank me later. Btw, nobody knew who tenacious D was until 2002 regardless if they were formed in "94"
This is great. Also a Finnish band HIM Have a great cover of this Song. It has a darker ton to it.
Stonesour has a cover of this song on their first album I think. You should definitely check it out
I remember when Chris Isaak's version came out. Radio stations used to get requests for it by the hundreds and sometimes thousands. The song is so haunting.
You really need to see the movie School of Rock starring Jack Black who teaches a class of kids to play rock music and sing.
Tenacious D is a tongue in cheek no apology parody. Jack Black's ability to sing makes it work.
I actually heard Tenacious D first and, years later, saw Jack Black in a film. I was like, "Is that the dude from Tenacious D?" I think it might have been "The Jackal" with Bruce Willis.
your facial expression at the end was the best 😍😍😍
BTW the drummer of the band is none other than Dave Grohl, drummer of Nirvana and lead singer of Foo Fighters
They had actually been around each other in the 80’s, which is absolutely wild.
Jack Black is a real amazing musician. If you get the chance watch his movie School of Rock :) On another note his Mom was a NASA rocket scientist ^^
Would love to see a reaction to the Band Poets of the Fall
Tribute is my favorite TD song.
HowthehelldidInotreact to your reaction the first time? Fidiot me. Cycling back through the channel and needed to hear this as re see the react. Perfect song for this day on my side of the screen. Peace and Love to Ja and to yours. [this song was on the first mix tape a GF gave me so there's sentimental smiles happening every time I hear it]
In all seriousness, if you want a GREAT Tenacious D song, i strongly recommend these few tracks:
-Dude (I Totally Miss You)
-Tribute
-Double Team
-The Ballad of Hollywood Jack
Jack Black's voice is so good that it makes ME want to learn how to sing. That's how great he is. He even got Meatloaf and Ronnie James Dio to do some verses for their Pick of Destiny movie soundtrack (Kickapoo).
You have to see him do Extreme More Than Words with Jimmy Fallon
Jack Black and Kyle Gass are like the modern version of LeVar Burton and Steve Erwin. Wholesome AF
Jack blacks guitar playing in this is so good.
You gotta hit The Ballad of Hollywood Jack and the Rage Cage. It’s an amazing story strongly based on what happened to them when JB hit the big time. Use the version from this SXM show, it’s incredible.
Now this is a tribute
You're hair is extremely impressive 🤩
Tenacious D and the pick of destiny. Check it out
You gotta watch “Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny” now. It’s a movie. Go. Watch it! It’s glorious and Dave Grohl plays a giant guitar playing devil lol
Well now you have to watch Tenacious D - The Pick Of Destiny" wait til you hear "Dude, I totally miss you" by Tenacious D
I'm with you, Racheal. I have seen Jack Black on content that references Tenacious D, but as a child of the 80s and 90s I just never ran across Tenacious D. Seems crazy (losing my mind with you), but he can actually ... sing? Surprised, but happily so.
You should totally check out Jack Black Jesus Ranch (Bong water). Its a Tenacious D song that Jack performs solo on the movie Bong water and it is awesome.
Jack black and Kyle are so damn good. Love them so much. Damn amazing guys too.
Whoa
what a voice Mr. Black
awesome, you should now go listen to their city hall album and their movie album. So good.
So many actors are into music. Keanu Reeves has a band, Johnny Depp has played in bands and played with Alice Cooper. Johnny is a great guitarist. Steve Martin is an Amazing banjo player. I am sure there are many more actors out there that sing and or play instruments. You should do a series of videos of actors in music. 😁
If you want to hear a stunning version of Wicked Game then look for London Grammar - Wicked Game (copy, paste, enjoy)
Jaxk black is a classical trained musician and he is amazing
Well this cues you up for a long format reaction.... Tenacious D and the pic of destiny movie, which also features their original music... Highly recommend...
Jack black has a great voice and vocal ability, I also love her passion for music you can see her oozing of excitement for great music. I like her, I would like to take her out on a date or something. 😅
That's understandable, Jose. But, I think you'd have better luck if your name was Josefa. Ya' know?
my all time favorite cover of wicked game was by Rebea Massaad. mainly because the guitar solo is incredible
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Jack Black but Tenacious D is the real deal. Can't deny their talent and this a a great rendition of a great song.
There is a tenacious D movie called the pick of destiny also!
you should check out the original wicked games by Chris Isaak
Please react to their first album! If you got a kick out of this, I think you'll love it!
I think you get to the point where you can do something so well that you are able to apply a comedic efffect to it, like Jack Black has over the years
People always forget Jack Black and Kyle Gass are incredibly talented musicians.
Jack has always had an amazing voice and it's held up very well as he's aged too
You should hear him sing the National Anthem
Great reaction. ❤ I really recommend anything by them but "Tribute" is probably their biggest so maybe try that next. Their "F### her gently" is hilarious but maybe not safe for TH-cam. 🤘
You have GOT to check out Geoff Castellucci’s version!!!
Tenacious D are a comedy band but at the same time are not a comedy band.
Just listen to Wonderboy. Such an amazing song, but some of the lyrics are certainly comical.
They kinda made their mark with most people with the song Tribute. The debut album was absolutely fantastic.
Also they did a film for the band called The Pick Of Destiny, which was not a huge success but defo has a cult status among those that fully appreciate it.
Songs worth checking are Wonderboy and Tribute, which I already mentioned, but also Kickapoo (which features Meat Loaf and Dio), Beelzeboss (which also features Dave Grohl) and a personal fave of mine 39, which is a blatant Neil Diamond inspired comedy track.
They have also done some good cover versions that are complete songs. Timewarp (from The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and The Last In Line (Dio)
I was lucky enough to see them live several years ago and they did a whole play basically, with a storyline and other characters etc
YOU HAVE TO WATCH "TENACIOUS D, AND THE PICK OF DESTINY" excellent, HILARIOUS MOVIE, Dave Groehl plays the Devil 😈
I honestly don't know if JB would've been here at this level without KG. They had some amazing chemistry in the early days with skits. No JB without KG imo
oh my god oh my god
London Grammar live version.........I approve this message😸
Loved Tenacious D since I was little. You should absolutely check out the music video for Tribute, it's amazing. Wonderboy is also fantastic. Also check out the real life version Jack Black did for his song, Peaches in the Super Mario Bros movie
U must of heard the song tribute , it’s super great & Dave Grohl is the devil in the clip & also in the movie the pick of destiny
Jack Black's reputation is as a comedian making a joke, but he is seriously talented.
Hey guitarists. How did he do that bend at 0:49 did he bend the neck?
