The house I grew up in had the milk door, the ironing board in a cabinet in the kitchen, the laundry chute that went from the basement up to the kitchen and the second and third stories, the sleeping porch, an old coal chute that was welded shut, a root cellar and bell pulls for the servants in all the rooms. If you went into the basement you could see remnants of the old porcelain and tube electrical system. I’m old enough to remember the milk man and the bread man coming to the door as well.
