Ben, Firstly, Happy belated Birthday! The caravan is awesome with its simplicity and functional design. Hard to believe it’s 20 years old as it looks brand new! Thank you for bringing us the beauty of these magnificent instruments of music, Churches, and the English countryside. I haven’t watched in some time now so a “binge watching” Sunday afternoon is in order. Again, Happy Birthday from “across the pond”, congratulations on the caravan addition, and thank you for sharing your talent and beautiful music with us via TH-cam. Cheers!
So glad you decided to record this 2 day event. Your RIG is fantastic. Your walk to the church transported us to the countryside. Bless you, and HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY.❤😊
It is a little disconcerting, but I am becoming addicted to your beautiful videos. English countryside, churches and church organs, good music, and all in such good company. Thankyou Ben.
We have a fold-up camper, but it has a peaked roof, which makes it great for standing up in. What I like about fold-up, or pop-up campers, is that there are no upper cupboards so the windows are large and the space is lovely and bright. Congratulations on your caravan. I hope you enjoy it for many years.
Ben, from Ireland ☘️🇮🇪greetings and blessings. Your caravan is wonderful, so compact and yet spacious ! I admire your humility in admitting the fridge mistake! As always, your gentle presentation keeps one interested in whatever is the subject. I wish you a very happy birthday .
Your film today was a lovely, unexpected pleasure. Thank you. Your caravan is lovely and will be a cozy home away from from home for you. Happy birthday blessings to you.
I am so thrilled for you about having the caravan now! This is going to revolutionize your work. And allow you to discover so much more in each beautiful location you go to! The future of your work is going to take off now beyond your wildest dreams. So glad we get to journey with you!
Happy birthday Ben! My last organ teacher is also a Ben ... my sister shares the birthday with you and ... the hymn is a perfect prayer for her too! Here's to you and this next step in your adventure! We grew up caravaning! They were the best holidays ever ... you won't regret this! God bless and keep you always 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The summer of 1970 was perhaps the most interesting of my life. I had just graduated from college and was to spend the summer in Buffalo, New York, doing mission work in a Baptist church. The church had two pastors, an English language pastor and a Polish speaking pastor, Pastor Odlyshka, whose son Paul (about 28 years old) was the organist for the pipe organ. The Polish people worshiped at 10 a.m. while the English speaking people had Bible classes. At 11 a.m. the English service started. Many of the Slavic language people stayed for the English service. Paul played organ for both services. Many times I would attend the Polish service. "Nearer my God to Thee" was one of the hymns I experienced hearing in the Polish service. It is a spiritual experience hearing the singing in Polish and looking at the words in the hymnal. Then as I worked recently in a Korean church, the music transcended language differences and lifted my spirits. We take so much for granted. But when Christians singing in their own native languages sing together chills run up your spine in celebration of the one God we all are praising. Thanks to Ben for sharing the beauty of the countrysides of England and the always inspirational melodies of older pipe organs.
Thanks so much for sharing your recollections. The part of Ohio where I live happened to have been settled by quite a number of Polish (and Hungarian. and Irish and German) immigrants. In fact there were two Polish parishes within two blocks of each other (and each had its own Catholic elementary school -- St. Adalbert's and St. Hedwigs). Both churches were gorgeous. My good friend was Polish, and one of the most poignant memories I have is going to midnight mass with her on Christmas Eve. The smells. sights, sounds and atmosphere were stunning -- enough to touch the heart of even the most confirmed cynic.
Now you’ve added another of my favourite things to your vlogs, caravanning. We too have a caravan and the best thing is having all your own things around you, your real home away from home. Trust me the electrics won’t be the last thing that goes wrong but you will learn as you go. Your little white box on wheels lets you go wherever you want to. Looking forward to seeing many more churches.
Happy Birthday, Ben! I deeply appreciate you showing off the caravan and how easy it is to set up. I thoroughly enjoy watching you show the tiny churches and listening to your musical presentations. I'm struggling to save up each month from my pitiful, paltry, pittance so I can at least sponsor one of your research and adventures. May our Heavenly Father watch over you and keep you safe from harm.
Thank you dear one for your kind words. I feel exactly like the words you have expressed so well. May our Heavenly Father also keep you safe and filled with love & gratitude for the beauty Ben shares with us. ❤🙏
Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! A distant view of Corsley Church starts an exciting new chapter in the Salisbury Organist’s life. With a travelling home, a travelling studio and a collapsible harmonium, the world is Ben’s oyster! Hopefully he will have 40,000 or even 50,000 subscribers by Christmas.
What an unexpected Sunday surprise!! What a way to wind down my Sunday evening. I love your camper!! Compact yet fully equipped with all of the necessities!! I remember "pop-up" campers but they don't hold a candle to yours. You reached your goal of 33k subscribers for your birthday present!! What a tribute to your work. Happy birthday to you from Florida, Ben!! Looking forward to the next video!
You have a great caravan! Thank you for a beautiful view of the countryside and church that you were staying near. Can’t wait to see more of your adventures.
I just knew you couldn't wait to make another video due to your enthusiasm about your new mobile camper! My favorite part of this video is showing us your feet sloshing thru the mud. It was so cool that you showed it twice! -Ron (USA)
I am sure it sounds "silly" to say & write, but I truly appreciate & share in your delight to the new horizons your "caravan" will provide to both you & viewers. That joy is so very apparent in this video & I do hope for continued good fortune & travels with it as you use it as your travel base & comfort! Even as an American, I am always interested in finding on "google map" the church locations you select.. Music and our shared language (please don't "snicker") does provide a very solid foundation for your wonderful storytelling & musical presentations offered weekly! At least, for me! Thank you. This is Peter M; out!
Love the caravan. Keep an eye on the seals, and it will serve you well for many years. Now you are properly mobile, you can track down all the wonderful churches in Cornubia - Land of the Saints.
Well done on setting up your caravan so successfully. Hope you have many wonderful adventures with it. Love your channel and always look forward to seeing your latest post.
Each trip will make setup and takedown of the caravan smoother and faster, allowing you so much more time for exploration, and fantastic relaxation. And your freedom to come and go from the churches multiple times on multiple days will allow you to do so much more with these fantastic spaces and instruments. Onward ho, Ben! Onward ho!
Happy Birthday Ben! Your caravan is already becoming a special place. I imagine how good it will feel to hit the road on a trip and how relaxing when you set up and settle in. I'm happy we will be coming with you in some measure. Don't be surprised if you find problems at first. That's what shake down trips are for. At some point issues will be sorted. I don't know what caravaners say to each other so I'll borrow from my nautical background. Fair winds and following seas.
I love your UK “proper” accent, language. I’m from the U.S. And, of coarse, your music ability. My mother also played the organ, and a few of the hymns are similar.
I was so happy to see you today! Love your caravan! Wish you could come for a visit! Happy Birthday! You really make my Sunday afternoon much brighter!
Marvelous! Now, introduce yourself to what will certainly become an addiction, and add solar power to the little caravan, increasing versatility and reducing dependance on availability of other's power. Nurture and cherish your wonderful, adventure-seeking spirit! Cheers and happy birthday, tomorrow!
Good morning Ben great to see you out and about in your caravan and walking in the freshness of the spirit of the countryside and to reach your destination and viewing of Saint Mary's church- a jewel to see - like Thomas Hardy saying 'Far from the maddening crowd' and at that.Enjoy your happy caravan and be nearer to God in all that you do.God bless
Happy Birthday, Ben! I like the video and really enjoy seeing your camper. You will really like it. It will make setting up and taking down easy. I traveled all over the US with my folks in the 60s with a pop-up camper, one that my dad had made. It was canvas not hard-sided. Yours will stay warmer and drier. Traveling this way is pretty cheap. Good luck. (Nearer My God to Thee always makes me think someone died.)
What a wonder of engineering that caravan is! Your look of joy when you saw the church was infectious. By the way, I’m now getting ads for caravans on TH-cam. Big brother is watching.
I found the words on line and sang the song as you played. It took me back to my childhood, sitting in an old church with my Sunday dress on and singing my childish heart out as loud as I could. I loved those old songs and I loved coloring the pictures in Sunday School with all the colorful crayons, and glue, and glitter.
I wish there were more organisations like Friends of Friendless Churches. A few days ago I visited a derelict church and inside was a beautiful woodworm riddled harmonium. It was slowly rotting and the ivory from the stops and keys had been taken but it made me think of your channel. Thank you for bringing more of these places to life. Happy Birthday and safe travels.
Happy birthday Ben! I share your birthday with my 57th wedding anniversary too! The caravan looks great. I look forward to more great videos of more exciting churches that we would never know exist if it wasn’t for you! We have a lot to thank you for.
I enjoyed your adventure in your Caravan. I was surprised to see how the walls fold inside under the top. Good luck in your future travels. and Happy Birthday.
Hi Ben, the biggest pipe organ in my parish which was almost completely restored after years of neglect was found to have had its motor flooded by a leak no one knew about, luckily I will still hear wonderful pipe organs from your videos until our motor is repaired/ replaced
Happy Birthday Ben! 🎉 Seeing your caravan brought back memories for me. I owned a very small camper, and it was so cozy on wet days. Enjoy it and your travels. ❤
Thanks for sharing the maiden voyage with your camping trailer. Of course the rest of your program was completely delightful too, and I have damp eyes after your rendition of Nearer My God to Thee.
Lovely to see you again and what a a lovely caravan you have and happy birthday and many more happy years ahead 😅 I look forward to seeing more of you adventures in the future of the wonderful country side we have in the British 🇬🇧 country side and your playing with the great 👍 organs you play in the forgotten churches so Ben till we see you again happy caravaning 😊
ben, I don't know quite how you have drawn us into your arcane world, but speaking personally, I will forever be glad you have! I wait for every video and watch them right through, sometimes more than once. Your caravan is a delight; obviously a well-thought-out purchase! Can I suggest for those of us outside the UK that you attach a little map of the areas you traverse, perhaps updating it with each successive visit??? Oh, and the happiest of birthdays to you!
Thanks Ben like this a lot. For Spring & Summer I can you details of some Churches in Suffolk + a Norfolk one & two in Lincolnshire . Many of these Churches would allow you park up free for one night when they know what you are doing. One Lincolnshire Church (a tiny one now in excellent order )Sutterby in the care of Friends of Friendless Churches no organ now.

Take care on your travels, and a very happy birthday ! 🙂
The caravan is a good idea. It's unlikely that there will always be a handy caravan site just where you want it. However, I'm sure you do research prior to visiting your chosen destination. Most villages have a village hall with parking and given your work, if you make a direct request for an overnight park, I feel sure that most would be happy to oblige.
Happy Birthday Ben - thank you for all your entertaining films.this one was particularly appreciated as I wasn't expecting it and I was missing my Sunday fix of organ music.
Been, great video, as usual. And may I say, that if your videos have paid for that caravan, then you're already winning! May you have many more Adventures. By the way, if you really want to know what a caravan adventure is try going around Australia in a caravan! We love it.
I was born in Elkhart county Indiana. That area is a center of recreational vehicle manufacturing in the USA, and I had the experience of summer work in two RV factories in college. We also had a folding trailer that we used on a trip to Michigan in the 1950s. I have the horrifying memory of inadvertently folding it down on my poor father! However, he survived the event, and he and my mother greatly enjoyed telling that story many times to my great embarrassment.. I hope that you will have as good a time in yours as my family did in ours on our Michigan camping trips. God bless.
Definitely the coolest caravan around!! Thanks for taking us with you on your maiden voyage which was a delightful success! A very happy birthday to you!!🎉
Happy Birthday Ben, thanks for taking us along with you for your first adventure in the ‘van. You’ll find the other campers a friendly and helpful bunch in the main, we all set up for the first time once. Maybe we’ll bump into you on a site sometime when we’re out and about in our motorhome. Enjoy the adventure, I look forward to hearing music played on organs from around the country.

That’s a Gobur Carousel one of the best folding caravans ever made. I have a 12/2T and it’s great.
I absolutely love your clever little caravan. It's amazing, and such fun !Thank you for taking us on your first outing!

For a cheese and pickle sarnie, or two, depending on where you buy it from!

I love the speed you play your hymns. At my church they always try to make me play faster.
Love the Gobur Carousel caravan. I hope you have many happy adventures, which you can share.

I so enjoyed your camping trip in your new caravan. And seeing that Church from a different view. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇿🇦
So sad it is not available in Canada. It is a good concept and looks very well made. Wish you the best of birthday and many more.
There is also The Churches Conservation Trust. They also look after old, churches. They have an interesting website.
Happy birthday Ben! I share your birthday with my 57th wedding anniversary too! The caravan looks great. I look forward to more great videos of more exciting churches that we would never know exist if it wasn’t for you! We have a lot to thank you for.

My dad’s favorite hymn. He used to have me play it every evening when I was visiting.
Congratulations on your caravan. I'm looking forward to your future travels.
Another video that feeds the soul Ben, well done 👍⛪🐄🌳 Happy Birthday! 🎂🎶🎹🎵
ben, I don't know quite how you have drawn us into your arcane world, but speaking personally, I will forever be glad you have!
Wonderful!!!
That’s the nicest caravan (“camper trailer”, , we call
‘em over here) that I have seen in a long time
Congratulations!
Congratulations on the 33k Subscribers Ben and Happy Birthday !
Thanks so much!
How neat is that! Brilliant. Bon voyage ⛪🚃🎆
I love the background harmonium music- it brings tears to my eyes.
Happy Birthday Ben! 🎂🎉
It is a lovely surprize to see a bonus video 😊
Thankyou !
Happy Birth Day! God Bless you, Ben! Thanks for bringing such wonderful content to us!
That was BRILLIANT Ben ! How lucky you are to live in such a beautiful county. My Great Aunt ran a Pub in Shaftsbury, MANY years ago, and it was such an adventure from London, to go and see her. Your Caravan is fantastic - one tip for you is to acquire 4 pieces of scaffold board about 10" long, to put under the legs to prevent them from sinking into the ground. As to 'Nearer my God to thee' what a glorious Hymn, but I always think of the Titanic when I hear it. Thanks Ben for all your videos - always such a lovely relaxing 'watch'. Take care on your travels, and a very happy birthday ! 🙂

Hello from France !!! Have a good and happy journey ! I will play the services thinking of you.
Ben, once again you have given us a wonderful gift in both sight and sound!! Thanks so much!!
