Fritz was the first Idol contestant I’ve had an emotional investment in ( for lack of a better term) for ages. He should have made it to the finale (plus if he had win his reaction would have been epic)
Same here. I truly thought he would win. I’ve never been this certain about a contestant…best one in my opinion…not sure if I’ve ever believed in another one this much and I’ve been in the music business for a long time. Before he was even born LoL I would fight over him to be the one to sign him😂😂
At the very end of the song, love how Fritz shares a moment with the background guitar player who is normally so serious , but gives a full fledged smile in response. Obviously they rehearsed together for some time. And it’s a testament to how Fritz relates to other musicians. Not only making them comfortable but also welcome.

Why has the show not uploaded Fritz’s performance yet? I know there is a sharper video out there somewhere because I’ve seen it when I google search. Is it not on TH-cam? Standing interview I believe because he had to rush away for his Hometown concert back in Texas which they didn’t plug. Hopefully they’ll have him back on the show sometime with one of his own songs that he himself wrote.
Read somewhere that the segment was taped earlier in the week because of the concert Fritz had on Friday in his hometown which was already scheduled. And there was a Q&A before the concert.

Winner and runner up of American Idol perform their new single on Live Kelly & Ryan show in New York. Fans get to vote to also bring a fan favorite to perform on the show from a group of top ten performers. It was a 24 hour window to vote but you could come back and vote as many times as you wanted. Because it was a 24 hour window - anyone who knew about it didn’t miss out because of work, other obligations etc. People could vote before work, after work, before sleeping, after sleeping or stay up all night voting. Voting started at 9 in the morning and ended at 9 the following morning. On the show they said it was ‘no contest’ Fritz got the most votes. Fritz mentioned the contest and posted the link on social media. There was still a little confusion and fans were asking each other ‘How do you vote?’ Then they tried to make it more clear for others. Then fans were joking that they got carpel tunnel sitting there voting over and over. Maybe not the ‘most fans’ but the most ardent fans! I voted before work and after work ( not sure how many times - I didn’t keep track). I only voted for Fritz because I wanted him to be able to perform his new single.
The contest was also plugged during the show and is repeated every year. Lives American Idol Encore! American Idol used to tour in New York and contestants would go on the Kelly & Ryan show.

I’m lucky enough to live in Tyler, and got to see him perform on Friday. Just adore Fritz! He truly deserved to win.

All his performances on American Idol were Amazing. The version of Golden he did was so great and Waves, and the James Blunt song. I a big fan !
