People blame Steve Aoki for this, but remember that someone had to offer him to do that, knowing what it can take away or just not caring about it at all. He just gave this theme his own style.
I personally see why this was done the way it was. The 2017 version of Ghost In The Shell was a modern remake of it’s 90s predecessor. Obviously, they did the same thing to the soundtrack. I prefer the original’s soundtrack too, but since this is a modern remake, it’s only fitting for it to have a modern soundtrack.
This remix is great in my opinion. I imagine the first time hearing and seeing the 'making of a cyborg' and now knowing the Major, this seems like outro to her soundtrack with how badass she is
it isn't half bad, at least gave me chills. Of course original has a completely different feeling but try not comparing, enjoy this as something new with a homage
People complaining about the lack of “meaning” and “depth” in the 2017 version like the manga was any different. Ghost in the shell is nothing like the 90’s movie.
It is my only opinion that part 2 should not be far away Ghost in the Shell I found the first part very interesting and I am sure they are many many people like me love enjoy the making of this movie. They were many things I didn't understand about this movie perhaps part two will clarify in letter details.
You can watch the original 1995 anime adaptation for that. 2017 live-action is basically a simplified version even. It's a philosophical journey into the line between the men and the machine. I doubt a second live adaptation will come.

@@pavladavlas Bold words for a man who's a fan of bible school erotica 😂😭 and then there's the subscription to Black Girls Femininity. . .don't look sketch at all hon. Also, where's the spaget?
Katherine Marsh first of all, going through my subs and likes to try and come up with an argument against me is fucking pathetic, second of all, what does either of those things have to do with letting people like the things they want to like and not like the things they don’t want to like? Are you sure you’re replying to the right comment? But then again, your Vibes playlist screams Basic White Girl, as do your subscriptions, and you unironically listen to nightcore, so I’m not sure if you’re even worth the hassle of a meaningless online argument. If your next reply doesn’t include ‘sksksk’ or ‘And I oop-‘ all your friends are gonna be real disappointed and take away your hydroflask, I’m afraid.
The reason for the hate is because it's not a good remix due to fundamental flaws but mainly it's because It feels like the original music with electronic extensions drunkenly shoved into it, which it is, by the way. The original music is two and a half minutes long this version is extended to four and a half minutes due to those, for lack of a better term, techno solos at 1:35-2:30 and 3:30-4:20. If it were not for these sections I think I could have liked it but those extensions destroy the tone that was being formed, which I think is a major part of why those who don't like it came to feel that way a lack of consistent tone. A good example of a remix that has a consistent tone is Dance With The Dead's Remix of Scandroid's Neo Tokyo, the remix is speed up slightly and given a new opening so that you know the moment you start listening to it that this remix is meant to give you the energy to dance. It's still in the retro-futurism, cyberpunk style of the original Scandroid song, but the remix's new high energy, punchy tone can still make it different enough from the original to make listening to the remix a new experience. This remix, however, fails to do this correctly. It starts by following the original tone of Utai IV: Reawakening by slowly building up to an epic climax, the remix adds some new things in but it doesn't depart from the original tone enough to make a new listening experience but in no way is it offensive to the ears. Then after following the original tone, the tone completely and suddenly changes to something else entirely at the point in which the original would have reached its apex. This is the wrong time for such a drastic change and it definitely doesn't fit with the rest of the music, as a result, it feels wrong to listen to.
Benjamin Frankly I don’t think a slower building climax would help the remix since the remix is post to have this quick dangerous tech drop instead of the same casual build that’s always heard. It gives this out of nowhere energy that really feels as if drugs were just pumped into you, fitting into the newer theme for the movie instead of the old anime which the remix wasn’t meant for. Plus, a slow built that has a quick tech drop sounds weird to hear since it doesn’t match in speed and energy, making it lose that pop when we hear the amazing cyber drop. Also, the change in tone makes sense to use because the movie was meant to be branched off into a different feeling unlike the anime, which had slower movements due to style of art, writing, and the ability for it to stretch the time out through episodes compared to a movie where everything can be packed a lot more. This causes decisions to be made in the music for movies of action to have quicker builded up, finally creating fast music for the active character in this film to match with their speed in pumped up scenes.
Stein Fakinaway it’s not trying to make a better version, it’s to work on it to not only approve their skills but to show what THEY can do and they’re style. It has none thing to do with beating someone in a music battle. Just appreciate it.
@@benjaminfrankly756 Yeah I'll have to agree with you there. I enjoyed this but without those parts it could've been better. The original music with the extra instruments added to it is really cool but the techno solos added something that didn't need to be there. Good music that could've been great.
Most of it is ok but that build up before the beat drop is just too much and too out of place. Sounds like I’m about to see some shitty TH-cam intro where they have the username spinning all over the place and your eyes get berated by a bunch of flashing lights.
Foxfire agreed. To be honest this is the only track from this movie that dissapoints. i reccomend enjoy the silence remix and speed it up by 1.25x or 1.5x!
It is such a shame the movie was such crap, because the music was on point!! There was so much potential in this movie, and what we got had some beautiful imagery, but damn it they butchered the story and concept.... all for a freaking PG-13 rating.... At least some great music came out of it though!
On point. The music and visuals were gorgeous but that's not what make ghost in the shell great. It's having both those sprinkled on top of a great, thought provoking, coherent plot that the live action fell flat on it's face with.
People blame Steve Aoki for this, but remember that someone had to offer him to do that, knowing what it can take away or just not caring about it at all. He just gave this theme his own style.

Listened with an open mind and ears. I love it. It being different from the original is what makes it special. I love the abrupt drops.

This isn't a modern equivalent of that
It's more of a mashup of elements from each gits adaptation. If you've seen everything of it, you could recognize those elements
That's dubstep, it was considered modern in 2011
Couldn’t be any more off the mark.

Steve Aoki is legendary! This track stands out after hearing the 2017 OST. Haters gonna hate. "Don't mess with a classic.. bla bla bla" w/e
In my opinion the metalic sounds and riffs only enhance the original vocals. So when they come back from the drop they hit you harder then before!
