Dear Chris: You need to make a correction to one of the subtitles in this video. It describes one of the ships as having "a highly raked bowel" when the word should be "bow."
Thank you. I wondered what happened to these ships. I have a photo of one of the Crystal ships docked in Fremantle that I took years ago. Photographing ships was a bit of a hobby.
My first introduction to Crystal was on a party cruise out of Los Angeles in 1988. Finally sailed on a full cruise in May 2000. It was at first sail. Great food and service. My favorite was the Crystal Harmony. We sailed around 14 times mostly on Harmony. Including its final voyage.. I haven't sailed on them in years, but many amazing memories and great friends.
You failed to mention that crystal harmony also served hotel ship during Barcelona Olympic. Those ships topped the Conde Nast rating for years. I guess its fall started when NYK sold the brand.
I have great memories of sailings on Crystal before the pandemic. The Crystal magic was a mix of beautiful ships, caring crew and outstanding itineraries. So sad when they went bankrupt and then delighted that A&K bought them. The new owners and management seem to understand why so many people are so loyal to Crystal and looks like they are making every effort to bring the Crystal magic back. I booked for 2024 and looking at 2025. Wishing them well!
Crystal is the BEST cruise line ever. I love it. Will take my 10th and 11th Crystal cruises in 2024. Thank you to Manfreddi and A-K for bringing it back.
Before Covid my family and I enjoyed several cruises on Crystal Symphony and Harmony but never sailed the Serenity. I've never cruised on any line but Crystal. Loved every moment up it. Top grade all the way. Glad its back.

During the late 90's and the 2000's Crystal was the only cruise line my parents would sail on. My mother said the level of service and quality of the food was unmatched. During this time period they did 2 world cruises, a circumnavigation of South America, a circle the Pacific as well as numerous other shorter intineraries.
Very interesting to hear the history. I had my first cruise booked with them when they went bankrupt. No communication from them so I finally went through my bank to get a refund as I had used their CC to book. Booked a similar cruise on Viking and loved it! May try Crystal again in the future but a bit gun shy at the moment 🤔
