Sane,it's because war is coming and they used this to try and get kids to join when old enough but that my opinion on it or it's just from Black Ops you know that was a good game

Those thompsons were left over to be used by the rebels in southern Vietnam due to the newer m16 being the new infantry rifle But I suppose all the Lego people look exactly the same, u can't really tell
Nostalgia Trip, Battle of Long Tan, 1968 Served as radio operator Got hit by a M79 on my pinky finger, lost my hand. Found it 26 years later in a Laoian Antique Store made into a purse
Thompsons were not used by the marinecorps, no matter what anyone says. While some Army Units in the beginning of the war, they were quickly abandoned by 1968, when M16s were numerous and M14s still optional. The Marines used the M14 until 1967 whe they were mostly replaced by M16s. Neither did Marines have Cowboy hats, Australian ANZAC hats, or campaign hats during the vietnam war.The only one who used M1 Garands and Thompsons were ARVN, or, in some cases, VC or NVA
At least someone appreciates his work. Everyone is all 'U.S. lost!' and don't even realise how hard and long it takes to make one of these. I don't actually know but I think it takes long
Tonto Hopato Every single movement has to be keyframed on a timeline thing in these animators, like for instance, getting a lego guy to say hi. You can start by keyframing him standing normally, then the next keyframe has to be timed to be a few seconds later where the lego guy raises his hand, so you have to keyframe him raising his hand like 1 second after the keyframe for standing, so it takes him 1 second to raise his hand, then the same goes on for every single movement in the animation. So you can imagine how long this took. D:
Tonto Hopato Also, even though this was taken from a video game, The marines defending Khe Sahn actually held off the NVA and VC forces during the surprise tet offensive. SO they didn't lose this battle.
TheMinecraftJarhead Facts. And I have tried to make my own lego video. Hard. Very Hard. But this was real lego not the whole 'blender' stuff. Hard. Frame. By. Frame. As they said with The Lego Movie it took 4 YEARS to make, and look how smooth that is!
during the vietnam conflict the greas gun was still in use and i understan that the mini figs were carrying thompsons but just wanted to make that fact known ww2 weapons were still issued to us troops during the conflict in vietnam
correct me if I am wrong but RPGs were not used as surface to air launchers until militants tinkered with them to take out US helicopters in Somalia in the early 1990s. The back-blast of the RPG would blow the viet-kong troop to bits if he actually fired at the helicopter because of the angle of which he would be firing.
It was a neat animation. I know it's not some expensive production, but I kept seeing different model errors. The Hueys in this video were UH-1Y which were introduced around 2009 (the squadron I use to work for received their's in 2012 to replace the 40 year old UH-1Ns) which have 4 blades and two large GE engines shared off the Super Cobra. A UH-1D, H, or E models would have been appropriate. Multiple US troops in the video were carrying Thompsons; a more likely model to see in Vietnam was the Korean war M2, the newer XM177, or Swedish K gun/M76. I'm guessing the M1 Garands were the closest models to represent M14s since the M14s were very closely related to the Garands. I know the Vietnamese used any kind of weapon they could get their hands on, but I did see a lot of Mosin-Nagants. I think the Norinco Type 56 carbines (the Chinese version of the SKS) would have been more prevalent with NVA troops.

The Marines/Infantry using Thompsons is not incorrect. The Thompson was used in Vietnam. SMG's are great for jungles.
