- An Interview with Idles in Lisbon, Portugal.
The British Punk rockers the World needed in these days of turmoil, have their hearts on their sleeves. Not only "Joy as an Act of Resistance" is one of the most important works released in this decade and the best sophomore album for a new band in a long time, but their makers are truly aware and empathetic artists that value love and compassion. They face society's issues with brilliant music and lyrics that address immigration, segregation, exacerbated masculinity, xenophobia, prejudice, all fits in a long play that sure made it's way to the top.

That's what is great about idles. They go absolutely nuts on stage , but when it comes to the interviews they are genuinely relaxed when giving their opinions and views

These people are convinced that - in spite of their personal foibles - they're the good guys, on the right side of history. They say that people 'make rash decisions on subjects they don't know enough about' and then proceed to put forth clichéd, shallow arguments on the issues of the day.
Consider, lads, that you don't know enough about these things either - that perhaps none of us do. Consider that 'people making rash decisions about things they don't know enough about' describes what people do every time they are asked to take part in the democratic process. Every party is elected into power on the back of lies, and, yes, that includes Labour. It's all part of the game. If your problem is with the lies, then your self-righteous finger needs to point accusingly at both sides of the spectrum, and then back at yourself.
Of course, complexity and nuance doesn't make for good punk songs, and moderation doesn't really get the juices flowing.
