Top performance by Amitabh. A towering performance by Dilip Kumar. But my heart went out to Rakhee. She truly lived the role of a woman torn between husband and son. Her helplessness in the tiff between them is so heart wrenching. And imagine, we have seen her as Amitabh's heroine till then. It wasn't an easy role at all, and she did a wonderful job!

I have seen this movie for the first time in my life just now, what an impressive movie, direction, depiction, acting by everyone including the side actors and villains, music, songs, everything is so good, the story has been well depicted and the main roles have been played well by Rakhee, Dilip Kumar and Amitabh. There is nothing over the top in it, yet such a well made movie. Kudos to all the people involved in the making of this movie.

सब जानते हैं कि यह movie एक मनोरंजन कम प्रतियोगिता अधिक थी अमिताभ और दिलीप कुमार के बीच अभिनय के लिए और सलीम जावेद एवं प्रोड्यूसर मुशीर रियाज़ ने दिलीप कुमार को अमिताभ से ज्यादा स्पेस दिया अभिनय के लिए और better diologue लिखा सलीम जावेद ने दिलीप कुमार के लिए. इसी फिल्म मे राखी को दिलीप कुमार द्वारा मारे गए थप्पड़ कि कहानी सब को पता है उस सीन को सिर्फ़ इसलिए रखा गया क्योंकि राखी ज्यादा बढ़िया अभिनय कर पा रही थी और थप्पड़ मार कर उसे demorlize किया जा सके. ऐसी हरकत अमिताभ अपने जूनियर आर्टिस्ट के साथ नहीं करते. Amitabh is millennium star. I don't think that Dilip kumar had better acted than Amitabh in this movie.
