Hey there, I have a 2017 TK 216, Which has the Honda engine, I haven't had any problems with it, it only has 150hrs on it, but what is the main issues with this engine that made Kanga go away from it and to the Vanguard? Is it worth swapping the Honda out for the Vanguard on my machine for better performance or was it a reliability issue that forced the change? Cheers

Hi Alex, thanks for your question. Honda discontinued the Honda engine used in the 2 series due to not meeting the latest emissions standard. The alternate Honda engine did not fit into the current chassis without structural changes, so we moved onto the Vanguard engine. The Vanguard engine allows us to offer a simple conversion kit should a customer need to change engines in the future.
Vanguard is the commercial arm of Briggs and Stratton, the world’s largest producer of small four cycle engines. They manufacture around 10 million engine a year.

Hiya, quick question. Do any of your loaders (not particularly this model) have the option to lock the auxiliary hydraulics in the open flow position at all? Like the hydraulics of a tractor. For example, so if you were running the auger, or trencher. You could have the auxiliary running, while you focus on using the loader etc. Do any of the models have that feature? Hope that makes sense. Cheers

Hi Matthew, yes, all our loaders have this feature. It’s operated through a lever on the dash. The Kanga machine is able to run this feature due to the safety auxiliary cut off switch which cuts hydraulic flow to the attachment when the operator steps off the platform. Hope this helps. That's why kangas now fitted with briggs vanguard.
Generally, Honda engines are best. Those v twins are shite though. I did look after mine, meticulously, still threw a piston.
      Vanguard the way to go.

What a load. Ive owned probably 6 or 7 kangas for the past 20 years, have never had an engine problem including the mid and kid series ones. Whatever makes you happy though love.

You need to change that crappy honda engine in the 216 in the uk. Mine, and a few others I know, threw number 2 piston through the block and wrote off machine. Honda usually make excellent engines, this one is crap. Give me a Briggs please in uk, before I buy dingo.
