For the zip tie 'trick' starting at 4:25 I recommend two changes: 1) put the zip tie hook/latch inside instead of on the outside so the latch is hidden. Gives a more pleasing look to the shoe instead of obviously standing out as zip ties. I did this on a brand new pair of black walking shoes and used alternating black/red zip ties. My wife thought they were colored shoe laces. Fooled ya! Now I don't need to tie my walking shoes. Just slide them on and am ready to go. 2) don't put a zip tie on the very top set of holes. Sneakers will usually be too tight to put on unless that top set is loose. Thanks for the tip. I also repaired a zipper on a travel bag following the earlier suggestion. thx.
The latch is outside, because most people will feel them dig into their feet on such slim shoes. Ofc, if it works for you, you get the clean look too. For a zipper pull tab replacement I prefer a paperclip. You can even go for the fancy ones and color-match your clothes. :)

I'm so excited nterested in all the various uses of zip ties another research project related to civil rights and home inspections.
Used one to hold a windshield wiper on too. The clip was broken off, so just thread a tie wrap thru it and it held forever, even in cold winter weather.

The cigarette lighter one is more trouble than it's worth because the point of putting it in a bag is to take it somewhere and then
you 'd need scisors to take the tie off and a spare one to put back on to take it home again! I like the idea of them as a shoe tie but lack of flexability would make getting shoes on and off really tricky.
All the ideas were great but I felt the one used for fan, certain, shoes very useful👍

You can use zip-ties for jewelry! Just jab the point of a knife through your ear-lobe, then run zip-ties through the opening! Pretty!Zip them around the finger or toes or other dangly parts. You will look so cool.

Nice. You should get a pair of flush cut angle pliers. Better than scissors because the cut surface is smooth so you won’t ever scrape hands or skin on the sharp edge left after the cut
