But I’m sure everything will turn out great - you’ve been taking such good care of it. I wonder if being in that open water ramped up the issues on that deep wound? I was thinking the same thing. I've seen on a few news channels that there was some kind of bacteria in lakes and rivers that if you have open sores you should not go in them. A couple of people have died from it. I was worried when I saw where they were going after his accident. I'm praying for him
Saline doesn't kill bacteria. The antibiotic they gave him should help. I know it is hard to keep wounds clean and he is a teen who wants to be doing the fun stuff.@@courtneyw6378

So I got serious finger infection cellulitis ( didn’t no it at the time yet )on vacation in duck creek once..it was not fun at all I couldn’t sleep… anything that touched it hurt so bad.. it was super swollen… ( we went to care now and there cream did nothing) we wore like time to call the hand surgeon when we called and told them it was infected they put his assistant on who said we are super book but come in tomorrow.. witch we did he was able to fix my finger…he said it’s a good thing you came in when you did that was a very serious infection you had cellulitis..it was so bad I was out for a week…from work the best part was he made me a cast for my Halloween costume I wear every year… he put me on som antibiotics

I'm sure the ER doc or nurse told you that you shouldn't use alcohol on a deep wound like that. Alcohol (or peroxide) irritates the wound and hinders healing. Hibiclens or an iodine solution is much, much better, along with the triple antibiotic ointment and frequent fresh dressings like you applied.
I once made the same mistake of using alcohol one a similar wound and ended up in a doctor's office for antibiotics, because my wound, on my ankle, wouldn't heal and got infected. Oral antibiotics for the infection and a switch from alcohol to Hibiclens and I was scabbed and healing in a few days.
I hope Turin heals quickly. That's one nasty cut.

Temu is awesome so I notice that my niece Maia had a cart of stuff in Temu so I was like what the heck so I bought all the stuff for her… then when my other niece Eden came over I let her put a cart together it’s so cheap I didn’t even care I even was able to get my nephew smith who is 3 a dinosaur back pack…. Love Temu that’s where a lot of my keychains are coming from… I also got some nerf darts from there and they work amazing… I’m thinking of doing a Temu Christmas
A little tip to prevent your boat from being partially beached is to reposition the boat just a bit everyday. This just means you back up off the beac about a foot or two and reposition .

Hope you get better soon Turin. From my experience being wheelchair bound and having dealt with pressure sores that have gotten infected big open wounds like yours take FOREVER to heal. They weren’t joking when they said a couple months. I’ve had some take as long as 6 months to heal and that wasn’t road rash either.

Cellulitis is no joke so it’s great you go him looked at and on an antibiotic. If the infection gets in the blood stream it travels and can be dangerous . That’s why they have you watch the spread of the redness. Looks like you had a great time regardless. Hope Turin is feeling better and the meds did the trick. That is a nasty wound. Ouch.
