Contestants get half an hour in which to eat a huge pizza topped with '5lb of toppings'. Do so and you get the $31 meal FREE, a spot on their wall of fame and a cap for your troubles!

That's when it becomes the impossible pizza challenge where they cut the time down to 15m.

One of the few channels that keeps it to the OG 10 minutes, makes the videos very easy to watch

It also earns the restaurant some money, as he normally gets the main meal free if he completes it
When I watch these videos I like to think Beard is also helping the restaurant get some much needed advertisement and generally promote the small towns around the US, through the media and online from people entertained by the wild and seemingly impossible food challenges, kudos to him.
That and that his post-challenge dessert orders are a way of supporting the places that make these challenges even if he wins and eats a shit ton of food for free :D
It does not matter that 20 people have died in eating contests since 2010.

As a Brit living in San Francisco, I’ve found Americans to be incredibly friendly wherever I go. I’ve loved being here I became a naturalised citizen as my home is in the US. Sometimes, the US doesn’t make sense but I’ve found such wonderful people everywhere.

I was at a party about a year ago and the host put on a playlist of your videos and the whole party stopped what we were doing and we’re hooked for hours. We were all supposed to go to a show, the host was dj-ing and even he wanted to miss it cuz we were so hooked. Been watching ever since.

You know the guy is a pro when he can still enjoy the flavor of the huge pizza in front of him after polishing off 2/3 of it.
Don't know why but I love the clips of the wait staff checking out his progress. Not just here but so many places, the looks of doubt and disbelief are beyond entertaining.
Watching him eat those first two slices was so satisfying for some reason😮
I acutally don't like competitive eating because the food is just swallowed down. But your videos are more like an entertainment I like to watch where it doesnt matter whether you are eating food or selling cars. Your respectfull and joyfull way to interact with the people is what is so fun to watch. Good work ! ..and there is a pretty awesome sideeffect for the restaurants you went to. This one here would be my next pizza of choice if I lived nearby.

Man even if you aren't trying the challenge, $31 for a pizza that size and that's that hefty is a pretty good price.
I'm not from the US, but visiting now and then, I perfectly agree. Good value for your money. Would buy this and take out the leftovers for happy bites on the road again.

I'm from Chicago and I once got stranded in Vinita for four days while my truck was being repaired. I walked all around town and everyone I met was noticeably cheerful and friendly.

I am 6'4 350lbs and could not eat a quarter of what this guy puts down. I would love to walk into a restaurant with him for the challenge and people think its me only for him to decimate the challenge.
It's nothing to do with body size. All these professional eaters train by drinking huge quantities of water every day to stretch their stomachs out to the limits. They may also vomit the challenge up 30 mins later when out of sight.
You only get to see the more pleasant face of it.
@@PreservationEnthusiast - I know, but speaking to how we as people view big people versus small people. The perception is that big people are the big eaters but the ones who beat food challenges are always small. I didn't know about the water and vomiting's, that is interesting.
@@1980Triumph ALSO... it has been proven thinner people have more room for the stomach to expand. WHen you are larger your skin and such are already stretched passed normal elasticity, so thinner people are able to eat more as simple they have more room.

Man it's like this guy could out eat anybody or anything but when I saw him in that challenge against Jaws several years ago Jaws destroyed him, I thought it would have been a lot closer but it wasn't! I can't remember the lil' things they were eating but Jaws beat him by 80, Beard came in 4th
