I started my son's Namaz soon as he turned 7, Alhumdullillah. So far I kept it simple. One prayer a day and no Wuzu. The first thing I had to explain to him was not to rush with prayer. Its only now after 5 months that he enjoys it, enunciates every word and finish it with a proud smile. So I suppose that's what they need to learn first. As Ramzan starts, my second goal will be to train him in Wuzu. Insha Allah Taala.

In sha Allah thus is good advice i want to keep namaz and sajda a happy and pure and exciting thing for my bsby giirl its so tempting to keep asking her to do sajda with me as she is just a 1 year old now alhamdulillah for videos but then i noticed she was not happy with it so i stopped and i don't want get to associate me ignoring her with my salat so she doesn't resent it. I just want her to have a pure enjoyment in salat in sha Allah

Yes Ammara. Its just uncanny that Allah Main has given 3 years for children to learn discipline of Namaz. Because eventually they have to be steadfast about it and that might not come easy to some. So slow and steady..I've still not rushed into more than 1 prayer. My son also only prays just Farz for now.

What I learned from this video:
    1. Prayer has two words: Duaa' and Salah. But in the Quran we often find Allah referring to prayer as As-Salat. As-Salat come from the word 'sila' or 'wasil' which means connection. This means that the prayer is a means to connect us with Allah. Thus, during and after the prayer, we should check whether the prayer made us feel humble or not, more aware or not, more regretful of our sins or not, more hopeful to be a better Muslim or not. And as a whole, do we feel 'connected' to Allah or not. If we compare connection to humans, when we converse, we will feel happy when reminded of something good, a part of us will feel content, will feel lighthearted. And we remember our mistakes to them, we will feel regretful and unconsciously aim not to repeat the mistake. So do we 'feel' anything when we pray? Or do we just finish the prayer and leave the prayer mat not really feeling a change of heart? Do we feel stronger now that we have asked Allah for strength for the day? Did we even ask for Allah to provide us strength to last the day as a true Muslim? If not, why didn't we? Are any of these body parts made by ourselves? Are we not worried shaytan will lure us to worldly things? Lust, money, fame, greed. Are we invincible towards them? Are we not ashamed of the same body parts that have already committed sins? Are we not aware that only Allah can guide and forgive us? These are questions we can reflect on so that our hearts will submit to Allah s.w.t
    2. Allah always used 'iqama' and 'as-salah' together. There are many verses signaling these. In Arabic, 'Iqama' is not a simple word. It means 'to maintain'. If Allah wants us to continually maintain our prayers, it means that prayers are something very fragile. Something that can be disturbed very easily. So these prescriptions signify that we must constantly evaluate the quality of our prayers, we must feel the need to be concerned about it even if we have never missed a prayer since baligh. Because Iblees and Shaytan will use our overconfidence to plot their evil plans and drag us into greater sins. Additionally, we must never feel that our prayers are 100% perfect, there might be some prayers that are invalid because of hygiene, loss of focus, etc. So we must plan in our journals when and how we want to apply doing additional prayers to compensate the ones we did not perfect. And, to maintain prayers need us to make it a necessity to commit to 5 daily prayers, never less.
    3. We must always be conscious of the words we utter in Salah. This is because prayer will remind us of the Yawm-alQiyamah. If we think of prayer as a preview of Yawm-alQiyamah, then we can imagine what our body parts will testify to Allah. If we are constantly someone who just do the physical rituals but do not connect spiritually and emotionally to Allah, then our body will testify that we are not yet servants of Allah, we are only servants of this worldly life. We should be scared for this to happen, and we should strive to have a sincere and heart-to-heart confession and promise to Allah to strive to be a better servant. As we also know, the acts of prayers are fixed and cannot be omitted or added, we cannot talk or eat or drink. This also means that we submit and surrender to Allah our whole existence. Hopefully as we strive to be nearer to Allah, Allah will make it easy for us in this world and Hereafter. Allahumma ameen.
Please pray for me, for I am desperately in need of good prayers. May Allah forgive each sin we have committed and also the ones we have not yet committer, the ones we are aware of, and the ones we are not aware of, the ones we purposely did, and the ones we unintentionally did. May Allah make us blessings to the people around us and never a burden to the others. May Allah gather all of us in such a gathering that Allah, His Prophets and Angels will cheer and welcome us. Allahumma ameen.

We should strive to get to the stage where your body cannot survive without salah. I knew someone once whose body ached until he prayed his Isha salah. He went to bed once and forgot to pray. His body hurt so much. Then he remembered he hadn't prayed. He got up and prayed and then he slept in peace. Subhanallah.

It took me so much to get back to prayers. I’d start and somewhere along the line I’d stop. This time I took it extremely slow, first I started with watching an Islamic video everyday for a week. And then I started doing azkar in place of the prayers. So when prayer is called I’d do the azkar for a week. Then I started subh and 4 azkars for a week. Then subh and zuhr and 3 azkars etc. and they eventually I was praying all 5 and Alhamdulillah I only achieved this by building the foundation by learning (hearing Islamic lectures and strengthening my Imam (the azhkar). May Allah makes us better Muslims

Could you give me some tips. When ever I try to pray consistently I always think about all the prayers I have missed and how I will make them up. The my parants comments "like you don't care about prayer and don't have fear of Allah you are going to hell." "Pray in front of me if you are really praying." "You know missing one prayer is enough to send you to hell, because its fraz." I want to form the connection with Allah, I believe in him. I just dont want to do it for my parants, or to get them off my back. I want to do it for my self.

Beautiful lecture Mashallah. Before I was I didn’t make time for Salah when I’m at work during zuhur and asr prayer , now Ive began to take time out my day and offer zuhur and asr prayer at work, Alhumdulilah , I feel as my day goes so much smoother and there is like barakat in my time, and feel a lot less stress about worldly things. Prayer is greatest gift to Muslims , Alhumdulilah for being a Muslim.

    Ibn al-Qayyim
When it comes to prayer, people are of five levels:
    1. Negligent
The first is the level of the one who wrongs himself and is negligent. He does not do the wudhu (ablution) properly, or pray at the right time or make sure he does all the necessary parts of prayer.
    2. Overwhelmed with Waswas
The second is one who observes the outward essentials of prayer, prays on time and does wudhu, but he has lost the battle against his own self and is overwhelmed with waswas (insinuations).
    3. Struggles
The third is one who observes the outward essentials of prayer, prays on time and does wudhu, and also strives against his own self and against waswas, but he is preoccupied with his struggle against his enemy (i.e. the Shaytaan), lest he steal from his prayer, so he is engaged in salaah and jihaad (struggle) at the same time.
    4. Focused Heart
The fourth is one who when he stands up to pray, he fulfills all the requirements of the prayer, and his heart is fully focused and alert lest he omit anything, and his concern is to do the prayer properly and perfectly. His heart is deeply immersed in his prayer and worship of his Lord.
    5. Complete Submission
The fifth is one who does all of that, but he takes his heart and places it before his Lord, looking at his Lord with his heart and focusing on Him, filled with love and adoration, as if he is actually seeing Him. That waswaas and those thoughts diminish, and the barriers between him and his Lord are lifted. The difference between the prayer of this person and the prayer of anyone is else is greater than the difference between heaven and earth. When this person prays, he is preoccupied with his Lord and content with Him.
    The first type is punishable.
    The second is accountable.
The third is striving so he is not counted as a sinner.
    The fourth is rewarded.
The fifth is drawn close to his Lord, because he is one of those for whom prayer is a source of joy.
Whoever finds their joy in prayer in this life, will find their joy in being close to Allah in the Hereafter, and will also find his joy in Allah in this world.
Whoever finds his joy in Allah will be content with everything, and whoever does not find his joy in Allah, will be destroyed by his feelings of grief and regret for worldly matters.
It has also been said that when the servant stands up to pray, Allah says "Remove the veil between Me and My servant."
But when the servant turns away-which is taken to mean from Allah toward something else,
    He says, "Replace the veil."
When he turns toward something else, the veil descends between him and Allah; and the Devil enters to show him all sorts of worldly things, appearing as if a mirror. But when the servant turns his heart towards Allah, and does not turn away, the Devil cannot find a place between that heart and Allah.
    The Devil enters only when the veils are raised. So if the worshipper flees towards Allah, and makes his heart present, the Devil flees;
if he turns away, he returns.
Such is the lot of the worshipper and the lot of the Devil with respect to prayer.
    (al-Waabil al-Sayyib)

Subhanallah the magicians of Pharoh prostrated asking forgiveness from Allah swt after seeing the miracle of Musa AS. They were killed because of this. Just this one sincere prayer and Allah swt forgave them! How many prayers have we done without true sincerity! May Allah swt forgive us and perfect out salat.

My husband doesn't pray. It's being 25 years of my marriage. I kept praying for him so that he feels need to pray. But in vain. Alhamdullillah I pray my prayers regularly. Whenever I try to convince him for prayer, he get upset. Though he fast 30 days of Ramadan, never missed any fast. He prays during Ramadan but after end he stops. We performed hajj and umra. He follows all the other Ahkam of Islam except prayer.
I don't know what to do.

Sister ask for divorce. People who neglect sholat intentionally are kaffir. Especially you have been advising him for 25 years. Time to move on. Don’t marry a man who doesn’t care about the deen. It will be bad influence for your children
