Gota (OU African Ensemble)

Gota music and dance originated from the Kabre ethnic of Benin in West Africa. It was introduced to the Southeastern Ewe region of Ghana in the early nineteenth century through trade. Originally performed in Benin for their war god, Gota is now performed as a recreational music and dance in Ghana.
