I have a 2008 and love it. So reliable and such a creamy drive on road trips. Hell I just had a 7 foot kayak on the INSIDE! PS you loose head room with a sun roof.
I've been researching for over a year on passenger vehicles. I've flip flopped from the Ford Flex ecoboost, Dodge Durango rt, Ford Expedition and the Toyota Sienna limited awd. And I always go back to the Sienna. Excellent review. Don't know how haven't seen your channel before.
+Family Wheels I try to account for every detail. Vehicle size, interior space, features etc. The ecoboost in the Fords are downright powerful. The dodge Durango rt with the V8 sounds amazing. But these vehicles are just as long as the Sienna give and take a few inches. But the Sienna trumps it in space and reliability. And the awd it's perfect for Illinois weather. Downside is no spare.
Thanks for this reviews, but I am agree with less than 70% I have a 2011 Sienna LE AWD, close to 180 000km and it is really Economic, Ican get 10.5 to 11.5 lts by 100km in Combined in the summer and around 12 to 12.5 in the winter in Montreal, this is Combined in the Montreal Traffic. It is very close to the Odyssey 2015 FWD of my cousin!!! it is really impressive when my old Rav4 6Cyl with same engine consume 1.5 lts more! I really Impressed with huge advantage with the internal space compared with Odyssey and Grans Caravan, where you cannot sit 3 adults in the 3rd seats row, as You Can in the Sienna, to be honest you got an issue because you are too tall but every time I get into the 3rd row of any other minivan, I think, mine is really superior. I challenge you to put 4 minivans anc sit in thes 3rd seat with 2 more addults and compare! Additionally, in the Cars exposition, I review and liked it the Kia one, it looks like a really good imitation. But for some one who the Quality and the reliability is the number one, it is hard to change a Japaneses car for a Korean one, and it is not bad, but not as Toyota or Honda. I have had more than 45 cars in my life (42 years old) and 14 of then has been Toyota, so will ask you buy a Stanley tool or a Dollarama one? Well, depend of the Price! The Dollarama one cost 10% of the Stanley but you cannot wait the same quality but a car that you will safe only 10-15% but offer you less quality ? well it is really relative and depend of you priorities, I think the Sienna is the best option talking about Minivan and the closer one is the Odyssey, i like both but the Sienna better! I used sometime the Gran Caravan, I liked it, but it looks so cheap inside, the dash is tooooo simple, the seat too small and the Life is around 150 000 km before will take the money from your wallet in reparations!!! * The best Original Sound system I have had in a car (2nd Ford Eddie bauer 2009), and the quality of the Audio and Bluethuth system) I strongly recommend the Sienna!!! I hope to help with the Viewers with my Experience and opinion too!
That’s my opinion too. I had a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan and it started messing up. The sliding door, and something with the engine. It was pretty nice but the sienna is WAY better. More space, better reliability, simple yet great functions. Love it
Robert Weber Yup. Maybe it doesn’t matter in the first 4-5 years but the Toyota Transmission has shown that it will outlast Honda’s ...300K plus or beyond 7 years. The Toyota engine is solid too, being the same engine that they use in the extremely reliable Camry.
I've been watching A LOT of reviews on TH-cam for years and your reviews are one of my top 2 choices (and Canadian too!). You really hit all the important relevant points and the decibel meter testing is simply awesome. My only possible suggestion would be maybe comment more on the driving dynamics part of the cars, ride quality/ suspension feel, steering feel etc. Though this being a minivan review, I didn't quite feel the need on this one but for lots of others. I noticed you mentioned Q7 ride quality being more "sportier" than the Lexus in one of the comments. Perhaps talk to us more about them in videos. Also comparison videos would be really really cool!
Thanks for watching! I'm really glad you've been enjoying the reviews. It's been a fun year. Oh, and thanks for the input on what to improve upon, too. Good to hear from you.
AWD versions have run flats (no spare tire) which makes the car louder and makes the ride a bit rougher.. the FWD version runs on better stock tires with a spare tire..
You are very good at what you do. But why do reviewers only test the most expensive and luxurious models. There are never any long term reliability tests. It's always about the features and comfort. I would love to see a review on an LE or SE.
Not in the market but enjoyed your review. Maybe when the 4th gen is out. Would have liked to see details like where to check fluid levels; fill windshield washer fluid, alternator positioning for fluid spills Thanks
Warning to y’all! This vehicle platform (2011 to current) has issues with tires wearing uneven and excessively. Be ready to replace tires at just 17K miles. Read complaints at Sienna chat forum. Toyota has no fix for this issue as of now and dealers will tell you it’s normal tire wear. If you have less than 12K miles and within the first year I suggest check your tires ASAP for the uneven and excessive wear and complaint right away with Toyota USA they might cover your tires warranty. Past one year and 12K Miles you’re on your own. I’m planning to trade mine for a Honda ASAP as tire or suspension issues could potentially be a safety issue. This is a family car and safety should be top priority!
+Family Wheels I currently have a 2nd Generation 2004 LE Sienna, the thing still runs like a beast, also maintenance is low. I am definitely impressed with the 3rd Generation, however if I am looking to spend top dollar on a Limited or SE (Sport trim), I'll manage with my old Sienna until the 4th generation for sure!
Interesting that the dual moonroof is available on XLE models in Canada and only on the Limited in USA. It seems they always limit the options available for US cars. I'm surprised you didn't mention the rear moonroof, it is one of my favorite features. When it rains our rear facing kids can watch the drops eat each other as they move across the glass. Sometimes when the kids are crying we will open it and it distracts them enough to forget about being bored. When we went down Christmas tree lane we let our 12 year old nephew stand between the seats and and look out as we drove 5mph down the street to look at the lights.
Hi. Firstly thanks for taking time to make a video. Great review. Some yeare since, but I was wondering if you still drive Sienna, and what is your experiance with it? I cant make up my mind between 2016 cs of 6 gear tranny, newer gen til 2020 with 8 speed box,or latest hybrid version (still out of my budget). We are family of 6,so I we need some room. Greetings!
Here’s our most recent review of a Sienna, a 2021. Thanks for watching. Toyota Sienna revamped for 2021, all-hybrid lineup makes big fuel economy gains th-cam.com/video/oLGC5FrsFzI/w-d-xo.html
Hey Velocity Channel, this young man needs a show reviewing trucks and cars. Way better than Motorweek reviewers I’ve seen! I’d watch it for sure! All of his reviews are awesome!
The second generation Toyota Sienna is still the best that they made. I got a solid 25 miles to the gallon, the second row seats were removable and they had nice thick soft touch padding throughout. Something happened to Japan and how they made their vans. The 2010-2014(?) minivans were plasticized with way too much plastic everywhere. I'm talking about that hard computer plastic on the dash on the sides everywhere. After the 2011 Fukushima earthquake nuclear reactor explosion/tsunami that year, that generation went downhill. And I totally sympathize with them. My focus would not have been on automobiles if I had lived in that country during that time. I also appreciate you calling out Toyota on the noise levels of these cars. Unrelated to you review but just the same I had a Lexus RX 350 that you would THINK will be one of the quietest cars on the road. Wrong. I had to put sound deadening materials over a three-day project to quiet the noise coming from the back. In turn out the back seats in the cargo area there was only a thin 1/8 inch carpet from the factory. That's it. It was pathetic now I can't tell you how loud the road noise was coming from back there. I put well over 60 lb of sudden deadening materials back there to bring it to down to an acceptable level. Great review keep up the good work.
Family Wheels Especially if your into car audio. You shouldn't have to fight road noise to hear your radio. Same goes with Toyota Prius. A very noisy car and the audio shop had about one a month on average sound deadening it. When I think quality or luxury sound or lack thereof is one aspect.
Interesting to note that even in one of the higher trim level's available in Canada that the comfort level's available in Japan and Australia for example, have not showed up on your side of the world as yet. I'm very surprised to learn that.
Francisco Hernández I have a 2011 Sienna Limited it has the dual moonroof and it eats about 2” 2-1/2” out of the third row headroom. I’m 5 11” and my head rubs the roof.
i thing i hate with all car manufacturers nowadays is the location of the Gear Stick...I HATE it placed on the dashboard...I mean even going further with some companies removing the stick and replacing it with a DIAL KNOB!.. The LOCATION of a gear stick is a deal breaker for me no matter how other features are!
The new Pacifica looks great until you realize it only has 32 cubes behind the rear seat instead of the 38 to 39 of the competition . I haven't figured out how to fold my kids in the rear seat to get the storage we need for trips .
Well one of the best cars I have had on my life it was the Toyota Prado 5 doors and also i had 2 3 doors, 4 Hilux, and those you can find them in Europe but not in North America, here looks nicer but the one you can get there are more Reliable. Good luck Jon
Yes, I am floored that other minivan manufacturers haven't gotten onto the AWD train. That's a big opportunity lost from the other companies. What are the pros and cons for your Sienna, do you think? Thanks for watching.
Cons, its interior definitely needs to be improved, specially the infotainment but everything else works for me. I really like your reviews though it's very informative, thanks!
If you will lease it, you can take the Pacifica, but if you want to buy it, I strongly recommend you to buy the Sienna. The Pacifica can give you many issues after 100 0000 Km and after 4 years, you will sale it for few $$ and lose much money. The Sienna you can have it for 15 years if you take care of the car. I have had 4 Toyota cars with more than 400 000 Km and worked perfectly, I could be able to drive from Miami to Alaska with my family inside and fell Safe!!! Good luck !
I have a 2008 and love it. So reliable and such a creamy drive on road trips. Hell I just had a 7 foot kayak on the INSIDE! PS you loose head room with a sun roof.

Great review, most comprehensive i found on this model, thanks!
We are looking for a minivan! I am so in love with this one! I cant wait to decide on which one I want!
We are on the market for our first minivan. Between this and the odyssey. This review was awesome! Congrats!!!
Thanks for watching, Ricardo. Let us know what you decide on and why!
What did you choose and how’s your opinion now? We are going to buy the Sienna XLE 2014 most likely in a week...
Toyota has a much better transmission than Honda.

I have an appointment this coming weekend to test drive 2015 model I hope the wifey likes it..

Just change the tires
sienna is number 1 in the world. SUV never replace vans. everybody must admit once and forever after all.

"aerodynamics toaster on wheels", can't be more accurate
Talking about reliability and handling, 100% Toyota Sienna is the way to go. AWD works great in the snow!
Not in the market but enjoyed your review. Maybe when the 4th gen is out. Would have liked to see details like where to check fluid levels; fill windshield washer fluid, alternator positioning for fluid spills Thanks

It also depends on the treadwear rating and the type i.e highway,performance...etc. if its 500 and below the tire will wear fast.
I also read that after the 2016 line,it went from 6 speed to 8speed and the 8 speed has been giving problems
Awesome! Been waiting for this! Can't wait for the 4th Gen coming soon!
Thanks for watching, Matthew. Think you'll wait for the 4th generation or are you in the market right now?
+Family Wheels I currently have a 2nd Generation 2004 LE Sienna, the thing still runs like a beast, also maintenance is low. Matthew Boudot wait wait when is the 4th gen gonna come
Roland Rivera next year 2019! They did another big facelift on the 2018s

Will you be doing an updated Sienna review for the newest version? I’d be very interested.
Hey what about the nissan quest le?

He seems concerned about head room, but then again he's really tall. I instead wouldn't have a problem.
Francisco Hernández I have a 2011 Sienna Limited it has the dual moonroof and it eats about 2” 2-1/2” out of the third row headroom. I’m 5 11” and my head rubs the roof.
I’d love to see a lineup of the new minivans. Especially the hybrid dodge if it’s available to do.

Ha! Yeah, I'm not a big fan of it either, but doesnt seem to be going away anytime soon. It's the dial know or even the buttons these days too.
I like your channel! Just subscribed. Watching from U.S.
Great! Good to have you watching, Gary.
The new Pacifica looks great until you realize it only has 32 cubes behind the rear seat instead of the 38 to 39 of the competition . I haven't figured out how to fold my kids in the rear seat to get the storage we need for trips .
Don't forget the famous Chrysler reliability
We are looking foward to a nissan le or a pacifica
Nice review. Any idea when the new redesign Honda Odyssey is coming out for sale?
I'm not sure about the Odyssey but I'm sure your local dealer would know about release dates.
Hi are you going to do a review on a Citroen c4 grand Picasso any time in the future I'd be very interested to see one, thanks
That car isn't available in the North American market, I'm afraid. Thanks for watching!
I really like Toyotas so much vans
It’s now 2024, should I consider purchasing a 2016 Sienna with say 95,000 miles as a daily driver?? Are they a well built van? Anyone
Yes I just bought a 2016 xle with 76k. They're great vans especially the 2016s
I drive a 2013 sienna, love it except it can't flipped the 2nd row seats down use it as camper van, unlike the dodge caravan!
I like this car
so my mom does not know what to pick. what should we pick
They all have their pluses. That new Pacifica looks slick but haven't had a chance to review it yet.
Toyota has so many nice models in the USA, but only sells crap in Europe... why???? Nice review...
Well one of the best cars I have had on my life it was the Toyota Prado 5 doors and also i had 2 3 doors, 4 Hilux, and those you can find them in Europe but not in North America, here looks nicer but the one you can get there are more Reliable.
Good luck
Jon
Gees car! Going to get one inshallah for my family. Thanks for sharing :)
I would have bought the pacifica if the sienna didn't have awd.
Yes, I am floored that other minivan manufacturers haven't gotten onto the AWD train. That's a big opportunity lost from the other companies. What are the pros and cons for your Sienna, do you think? Thanks for watching.

My name is sienna
It has a 1,000 lb tow limit??? Why even have that then. That's not even 7 SMALL adults who can sit in the car to start with.
For towing dog trailers?? 😂😂
But I've been watching a lot of sienna vids
Do not buy this van if you need the eighth-seat
which is like child seat, not for an adult.
Anissa Cunningham well, unless the 8th seat is for a child. Do you really have 8 adults you’ll be carting around on a regular basis?

Heads up: I'll be reviewing the 2021 Sienna later this month.

If you're a family dog with a big size dog and you're treating your dog as a luggage, clearly get a school bus instead of a van., for the love of God.
720p...blegh
David Robles wtf it's fine
meh...in 2013 it was "ok"...half of 2016, any phone was doing 1080p, some even 4k. again, meh.
