I have that exact bike but in black. just got off the phone with Harley museum yesterday asking them about my year and model bike. I learned that it came off the production line on 11/12/1981 and there were 1,687 total made. Only 483 in black. It was made in York, PA and shipped to a dealership called Sports Unlimited in Colorado. The original purchase date from that dealership was on 7/15/1982.
@@millertime2976you should call and ask about yours. It’s the Harley customer service phone number then I think you listen to the options on the recorder and press 3 then 7 if I’m not mistaken. I talked to the nicest people who were happy to help. They even emailed me the ‘window sticker’ and all original decals from the bike. They have so much info. But yea mine is the exact same. Lowered fairing and all. I just don’t have those bars that go on top the the saddle bags. Apparently the York PA plant where these touring models were made has closed…. At least temporarily
@@millertime2976mine has only the fuel gauge and I think temp or whatever is in the right side of the fairing. Also my top piece of fairing where the plastic windshield would go says “Tucker speed estd 2015” … or 2016. Ithe bike is sitting only front lawn with a trump flag.
@@millertime2976 Oh well, that’s a bummer. I have a chopper I built and a DYNA And they are both never without some kind of problem. Ha ha. That’s the life of Harley Davidson. Thought about buying another gold wing like I had decades ago but can’t seem to get rid of the Harley’s. Lol
This bike looks great. Doesn't cost anything to put a drip pan under the bike. If you spend the time and money to replace the gasket it will eventually start leaking again. The previous owner removed the enclosed chain case on mine and unfortunately installed some sort of automatic chain oiler on mine so I have to put a drip pan under the front sprocket when I park it in the garage.
I had a 1973 FLH. I wouldn't be sure you have a gasket leak. Mine had factory automatic oiler for both the primary and the final chain drive. The primary case is vented at the top rear. Oil will sling up there and get the swing arm damp with oil. I went to a primary belt so I plugged off both the oiler lines coming out of the oil pump. With the invention of o-ring chains the automatic oiler on the final drive is over kill.
Mine has a BDL dry primary so the drain plug is out and the Derby cover is spaced out for air flow. I started putting a plastic lid off a rattle can under the drain plug. I think only 2-3 drops come out of it, but you know how oil is, you could paint your house with a tablespoon's worth.
I believe but I’m not certain that the windshield on the bike was home made. But it was made for another more functional windshield to bolt to it. A Madstad. If you look close from the front or the back you may be able to see the 4 machine screws through the windshield that’s on there.
It’s a Mustang seat. It’s kinda hard, but formed very well to be comfortable. I’d recommend sitting on one before buying a Mustang seat, some people love them and some hate them.
if you posted up what led bulbs were used would be help theres alot of choices now and the smd type is ugly but popular ..what bulbs for the dual headlight .im wondering if could be wires both on low and then both on high, mine is not.
I’ll check how the hi/low beams work. I definitely don’t know the brand of the bulbs as they were in there when I bought it, but I’ll see if I can find a brand on them.
Really nice bike! I'm working on my 86 tour glide right now. Do you know where i can find the headlights that you have on yours? Or anyone whos readind this 😅 dont like the seald beam lights
I actually sold this bike about 6 months ago. But I believe it was lowered in the rear just by the shocks. The front actually wasn’t lowered, the fairing had just been modified and was mounted lower on the down tubes. It looks like when they lowered the fairing that they did it a tad to low because there’s was a crescent moon shape cut off the bottom so it would clear the front fender. The front fender was also modified and sat damn near on top of the tire. It had a slightly modified rake too but it rode very close to stock. The cat who did it knew what he was doing.
The Tour Glide like a Road Glide has the front fairing mounted to the frame as opposed to an Electra Glide or an Ultra where it’s mounted to the front forks. That’s kinda the claim to fame for the Road Glide. That said some people love them and some hate them.
It’s a Mustang seat. Not sure of the model. It was on the bike when I bought it. It’s a bit stiffer than I prefer but my wife nor myself had any complaints about it after a lot of time on it.
Thought I cought the Mustang logo in one of your panning shots. So I had a look at the website and they list one seat for my 81 FLT. But i do like how it looks! Thanks for replying!
I apologize for not firing it up. I took this video on my phone. I don’t have a tripod as it usually takes 2 hands on the throttle/starter and the choke.

Awesome! This one was originally blue but the color was a bit different. I sold it to a friend a couple of years ago. I hated just seeing it sit.
That bike is an absolute gem!!!
Thats a good looking example 👌
Thank you!
that's a beautiful bike!
Thank you!
That's a nice bike! I had a '83 Tour Glide, and loved it! I measure all my other bikes to that '83!
My 82 FLT has been sitting for 17 years and I just started cleaning it up and get it running.
Awesome! Good luck with it!
Beautiful bike brother unbelievable color really like how it sits
Thanks. I actually sold this bike to a buddy this past year. He’s taking good care of it now and riding it regularly…
Amazing condition. Have an 80 FLT Tourglide and a 2010 Roadglide. I too lowered my Tourglide. Love the raked look.
Wow, niiiiiiice. I think Indian stole that fairing and bike design on the new ones. HD rules and yours is awesome.
Thank you. I have a rear brake caliper locked up on the old girl right now. Haven’t had it out in over a year.

It’s always something. Lol. I’ve got 3. The 82 in the video, a 90 Fatboy (Grey Ghost) and a 08 Electra Glide. But you’re definitely right!

What handle bars do you have in this .
I’m pretty sure they are the stock bars just rolled forward a bit. Not 100% though.
I love the set up and I’m trying to copy your style a little bit. Is that a Mustang seat? Or La Perla?
