    What do you think, does this explanation of co-regulation help you to understand how stress and worry states can get lodged in your body? Leave me a comment and let me know!

    I was trained to be anxious as a child but I now come into every situation with a state of gentle love and allowing and fun. I entrain stressed people to my love so they relax. They cant entrain me away from my own joy anymore. They sure used to be able to, but I gave up victimhood, so I am the dominant energy that entrains others. People always tell me they are happier around me than ever, that they are more relaxed and easier; they feel safe and trust me. You can shift anything!

    I think part of my anxiety is learned from my family's tense and combative dynamic. But now that I'm living with other people I find myself actually worrying about how my anxious vibes affect them, which makes me more anxious, which makes me more worried... It's really silly. This channel has helped with finding the deeper sources of some of my anxiety though, and I'm learning to heal. Thank you.

      I've been experiencing all of that for most of my life too, especially the feedback loop that creates more anxiety by being aware of the energy that I radiate. What helps me is self-compassion, patience, trauma exercises, and calming herbs :) I'm in a much better place now than I was just a year ago, and that feedback loop has a much lesser part in my life now. I still withdraw somewhat when I know that I'm triggered and need to process something, but self-compassion and understanding have helped me to not get worked up about it - I can always just tell the people around me that I feel bad and need to process some stuff (instead of feeling shame, carrying secrets, and pretending that I'm fine as I used to).

    This is exactly how my wife is, she is so affected by how her friends are when they meet up, they usually have a negative affect on her, and then other times when we are alone together she feels safe and content as she picks that up from me as I am pretty layed back and not stressed. Its very interesting how you put it, its like we can influence people around us without even trying. I also think that I am kind of positive around people that it makes them feel the same. I will look into this more as I find it facinating.

    So even when you think you are protecting yourself by isolating, your nervous system is still collecting all the data, it's still activated, I'm still prepped for threat? And that threat isn't really safely deactivated until I am safely around people, comfortably? If you're out of sync with people, you're nervous system won't relax or stand down, until you have restored being back in sync? And if you've been out of sync from childhood because you didn't feel safe to be you, your nervous system responds even if you've forgotten why? It keeps that file open somewhere? Run from the non-thinking part of my brain? Almost in secret? Is that what's going on?

    • @jamesbroderick2976
      @jamesbroderick2976 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Its pure evil in the truest sense, the damage being done to future generations is horrendous and anybody saying it does no harm "its only a mask" needs to education themselves.

      That's EXACTLY what I was telling my coworker the other day.
      I'm a preschool teacher and sometimes I feel so overwhelmed because the kids are so chaotic and my face can not express my concern, before masks I could lower my face (sad face) and say something like "my friends, we are being too loud! Let's all take a deep breath!" Now they can't see my facial expressions or properly BREATH with me.

    Is it sufficient to only rewire the brain? If the stress response is an automatic reaction (fight / flight) from the nervous system, doesn't the response bypass the brain? And shouldn't we rewire other parts as well such as the body, which has it's own memory to traumatic events?

    • @SukieBaxter
      @SukieBaxter  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Great question, Sand Tx. It really depends on what you call "the brain." I view your brain as being embodied and inclusive of subconscious/autonomic systems, like fight or flight, which is a much more holistic perspective than our binary mind vs. body medical model. Reactions such as fight or flight and vagal nerve shutdown do bypass your conscious, executive neocortical functions, but they are still a part of your "brain" -- especially the vagus nerve which is a cranial nerve. So, when I'm talking about rewiring your brain, I'm referencing all aspects, not just conscious functions. Hope that helps.

    • @noridiesel
      @noridiesel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While yes, her subconscious programming has already picked up what it will, the more you work on yourself and change, the more your daughter will reap the benefits and grow and shift along side you. It is never too late for healing. The more you can be attuned to her and respond to her needs with love, the more resilient she will be in the long run.
