SO...where should I start:
first of all, you might notice that this edit is more Wille focused and thats because of the simple reason-that I dislike Simon. (Don't worry, I obviously ship Wilmon but we'll get to that later).
I dislike Simon because he is the most self centered man.. he is always like "oh no, I can't sing my song :( I'm so poor" but Wilhelm has a LOT more important things and he still fucking gave up his royalty for Simon (after always complaining to him and leaving him throughout the entire season, when Wille needed him most!)
I really think that Simon needs to be a lot more grateful for Wilhelm liking him for some reason.
But their chemistry is absolutely undeniable (although someone fell harder than the other..)
If you ship Marcus and Simon I-

To me its impossible to dislike Simon tho. The kid is the most relatable and real to me, I can't help but love him. I love Wille too, of course. I just don't see Simon as self centered as a person, he can be selfish at times, just like Wille is many times throughout the seasons, but that doesn't make either of them self centered as people imo. The whole point of Simon is that he is too giving and lets everyone walk all over him; Sara calls him out on it at the end of the first season because he really needed it. This kid has had to deal with an absent mother and father, taking care of his sister (who does nothing for him in return), has to deal with bullying and constantly being talked down to by everyone in this school, has to work harder than all of them to get where they all are and resort to very bad decisions to try and stay there (the drug thing), and then has the horrible luck of falling in love with the most unavailable boy in the country. He still puts up with Wille and his constant playing of feelings in S1, only to then be left behind with a sex tape on a public scale. Then, the one thing he has in the school that is truly his and no one can take credit for (his music) is taken away from him, all because he was in a video with the crown prince whose life has continued on like normal after denying it (to him, cause Simon doesn't see all we see behind closed doors), AND he finds out Wille himself has (with good intentions ofc) played a role in letting this institution silence him, a victim of child porn.
Wille is a beautiful person inside and out, we know his intentions are good, but he isn't without faults and Simon has every right to feel how he feels. Just like Wille has every right to feel how he feels (sad, angry, and jealous - these are all valid feelings - though I must mention that doesn't mean he had the right to keep pestering Simon about Marcus and looking at his phone without consent).
I dont think I can agree with what you wrote: "Wilhelm has a LOT more important things". Wille's issues are important, yes, but why are they MORE important? Because he's royalty and Simon is not? This isn't a competition: to me they are equally important because Wille isn't more important than Simon just because of a stupid classist title he got when he was born. Maybe that's just me, I guess.
((Sorry that got long, I keep getting so excited to discuss this show. Again, the edit was great, and we'll see what S3 brings. Also, agree, don't understand anyone that might ship Simon and Marcus lol))
Wow! First of all thank you so so much for writing everything that you wrote! I really enjoyed reading everything and hearing the other side of the story (that I might have not heard before), so thank you again for that :)) I absolutely agree with you that Simon is not self centered (mostly) , and that his issues and problems aren’t less important than of Wille’s problems.
Also I just have to mention, that looking backwards maybe what I have written was a bit aggressive lol...I have changed my mind about a couple of things in the past three months.
In the second season I really felt that maybe Simon didn’t take the time to check on Wille (even though at first they weren’t really in a good place...)
I don't know if it's even explainable but I just have a hard time seeing the sacrifices that Wille is taking for the sake of them being together and then Simon blowing him of again and again. Honestly, now that I'm thinking about what you've written you are probably right about most things... I just have something against Simon and the way that he handles situations - with very little explanations and in my opinion, in a not caring way.
I was really pissed at Wille for denying the video and some of the stuff that he did, but seeing how his family and his title pushed him to make some bad decisions broke my heart for the both of them so I couldn't fully blame Wille for the things he did (maybe that's a "me" problem idk)
To sum things up, I'm sorry if this comment is a bit all over the place, I really tried to explain what I'm thinking but it doesn't help that English is not my first language and that it's really late where I live so forgive me on that.. but once again I really want to say that I'm really moved to experience this wonderful thing - thanks to you, that we are probably from different parts of the world and still are able to talk about a tv series that we're passionate about.If you just want to write everything you want about your opinion on other characters or storylines, I promise that I will read everything (even if it will be two pages long) and try to reply as best as I can lol
I just have to add that I'm really looking forward for the third season and I was so upset when I heard that they will only start shooting in about a year from now😭😭😭

This is perfection!!!! I absolutely agree with your comments about Simon. He left Wilhelm every time he needed him the most. He knows Willie is just not a rich kid, he has responsibilities and extremely high expectations from everyone and no one to support him selflessly. He is still there for Simon, saving him from all the trouble August is causing. No wonder he can’t tell anyone about his panic attacks.
First of all thank you so much!!!! And second of all I 100% agree with everything you said! I saw a sad Wilhelm scene pack from season 2 that was 50 minutes long!!! That’s an entire episode🥲 Simon gave Wille a hard time although he was already going through some stuff so that was super annoying to me…
@@justmakingedits337 At one point Simon even tells Willie that he didn’t face any consequences and only Simon is suffering. Sorry but Willie did in fact suffer more as he had to fight with his own family and August all on his own while Simon still had his friends and his family. Truly Wilhelm was so alone in that struggle.

This just proves how much of an ignorant person I am. I keep falling for shit like this. August, I fking hate him after S1, I don’t think any redemption will do anything. During the start of S2 I felt so bad for him, I kept wanting for Wille to forgive him or not be so harsh on him. But when he saw that he had a chance at becoming prince/king. His arrogance skyrocketed. Gee.
So true!! At the beginning of season 2 I actually felt like Wille was going to hard on August but when I saw how quickly he returned to his asshole ways I thought that he did exactly what he should’ve done (even the gun confrontation..)
