SOBO 2018, Antlers was an early June campsite for me. The mosquitoes were so bad that it did not make my Top 5 although it was beautiful there for sure. 1 Max Patch 2. Roan Mountain (old hotel site) 3. The Beauty Spot (Erwin, TN) 4. Carrabassett River (SOBO Mile 196.6) 5. Horn’s Pond (north of Stratton, Maine) I enjoyed seeing your hike Taylor! Congratulations! Happy Hiking!
@@molmer2380 yes Max Patch has closed for camping. Hopefully they will begin a reservation system to allow limited camping. It is a shame people have trashed such a beautiful place.
I stayed at a treehouse Air B&B in Newport Maine that was 20 yards from the lake. There's a hiking trail on property. It's very peaceful. I bet you'd like it. 👍 👍 Two thumbs up
Laural Fork Falls and Lewis Pulloff in Shenandoah I've been to and thank you for the memories and recognizing beauty. I can't believe you picked 2 of my best memories out of 5 tries.
You missed out on a great spot in MA because it's closed for 2021: Upper Goose Pond Cabin! There's a lake with boats to take out, bunks for thru-hikers, and the caretaker makes pancakes in the morning. If you ever revisit the Massachusetts AT, or if there are future thru/section hikers reading this, check it out!
Was that right after the cookie lady? I remember hearing that it you picked blueberries you could bring it to the cabin and they’d make blueberry pancakes
The one place I also stayed in, in 2019 was Speck Pond. I stayed in the shelter. It was a very new, very nice shelter. Hopefully only 2 years later it still is. Nice kitchen area too. I thought.
Lookout for Brian Laundrie when any viewers are out there (warrant for his arrest- reward around $30,000) previously lived on the Appalachian Trail for 3 months!
Nahamsha 💓 one of the my favorite ever 👍
By the way, I ❤️ this short format. Concise and tons of great information.
Thanks! They only take about an hour to make, thought it'd be something fun to post on Fridays!
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker great idea!!!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful 😍❤️ adventure! I would be so happy to do this!!! ❤️🙏 😊
I stayed in a couple of those places on my thru-hike... Very nice!

Love #4. Trying to find the 196.6 locale, whereabouts is it? And for the record everyone, Maine sucks. Don’t go there.
@@jarrodblouin it is about 8 miles from ME 27 trailhead going to Stratton, ME. The campsite is close to the Sugarloaf Ski Resort. Happy Hiking

Nice informative vid Tay
Thanks for sharing. Glad you are sharing some great tips and suggestions.
Class of 2019 here. Good video
I got to laurel falls and it was frozen solid. Ice climbers were there. They shared their gear and let me ice climb the falls with them
Ok, I will keep those in mind , if I ever hike the AT
Maine represent!
Antlers #1 for sure! #AT2020

How about the top 5 best towns?
Good idea!
Just subscribed 👍
Nice video. Can you post a similar video recommending campsites in NH/ME? That would be very helpful. Thanx.
How many of your resupply boxes did you use? If they didn't work out, what would you next time?
Taylor weee these cap site from 2023 ? Please keep making informative Vlogs . ❤

How far off trail is the drive-in movie theatre?
did you go southbound? From Maine to Georgia?
northbound
Is the 100mi wilderness really 100mi with no food or is there some kind of food along the way ? Thx
There's nothing. You could pay someone to drive a dirt road and deliver you food. But there's no civilization
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker THx.
I guess I just have to pack it.
I got a million miles to worry about first
If you pronounce it Appalaychian I’m going to throw an apple-at-cha
Appalaychian is the correct pronounciation
All good places. I didn’t go to the drive-in though.
