This was the forst time we had been to PR and enjoyed it. I drove into PR about 23 years ago when I stayed in San Agustin in 2000. Showing my age now 🤣
Great memories of GC , Havnt visited since lockdown The Mogan Mall wasn't there but I remember VG eat all you can CHINESE BUFFET'S In shopping centre at PORTO RICO .I used to stay at a relatives apartment in PLAYA DEL CURA a short inexpensive taxi to PORTO RICO.. I ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS..😊

Hi John, thanks for taking time to watch the video. Hopefully it gave you a bit of an insight into the resort. This was actually our very first look around the resort so it was all very first impression. Definitely give Wigwam Bar a try, some great beers in there so you'll not go short on choice and variety. I'm.sure there's another craft beer place too but we couldn't find it.
Just came across you guys jumped to watch your travel blog ,especially Gran Canaria fell in love with this place well at 17 on my first girls holiday In Puerto Rico , hence came back with family and brought my son on his first holiday we stay playa del ingles & maspalomas ❤ it . OMG can't believe you've been to all the places we enjoy going to. Just subscribed and was about to watch one of your Dalyan vids as we go in summer and noticed you'd been to Puerto Rico too. We've literally just got back the other day from our 3rd visit at the IG Nachosol. We joined Servatur and get a discount booking direct. Had some fantastic meals, good wine and really nice chilled time. I had the all terrain crocs on most days and a good pair of trainers for scaling the steps and the walk round to Amadores. Good light show with the waterfalls at the Mogan Mall at 8pm. I'll watch this one and get back to your Dalyan ones. Thanks.
Oh, the memories! First time I went to GC, Puerto Rico was with my parents back in 1981..the old shopping centre has not changed that much! I remember trying to buy a pair of Wayfarer II Raybans as they were tax free back then but one Indian shopkeeper kept trying to sell me genuine imititation RayBans! 😂🤣😂Kept going back throughout the 80s and in the early 90s my parents bought a retirement villa up top near the Altamar hotel, Monte Solana. It's a fantastic place, though I think Tenerife has the edge for me... Thanks for posting, brings back wonderful memories.

First time I was in Tenerife was 1974 (yep, I'm getting old), my parents first property was on Tenerife, Costa del Silencio, but they sold that and retired to Puerto Rico, GC. I moved to Switzerland in 97 and kept going to GC to visit my Dad primarily until he sold up and moved back to the UK. My Missus and me have been back to Tenerife twice in recent years, staying in Los Cristianos, we thoroughly enjoyed it but Spain is in my blood, I adore either the mainland or the Canary Islands... Tremendous amount of development has of course taken place over these 50 odd years but it appears that at least on Tenerife the development is slowing down as they don't want to kill the golden goose. You should defo go to Tenerife, it's still a beautiful and incredibly diverse island.
Jacqui used to go to Tenerife a lot as her ex partner's mother owned a bar in Las Americas. We are always open to going to different places but usually always looking for a bargain break so we can get away as much possible. We recently got back from a 5 week trip to Vietnam which was fantastic.

Been to PR many times but not stayed round the marina till this time at Marina Bayview. Went in the Wigwam bar because of this video a few times and tried a few of them strong beers same as you. He remembers you coming in and said there’s been quite a few in because of this video. Thanks. Mind you, I didn’t try the 10.5% one which was €22 😊

Yes it's true. Looks like that and the premises next door going for either a refurb or new premises. We're stopping at the Marina Suites hotel in Puerto Rico Marina ( to he HIGHLY recommended by us). Found some other great eateries up this end😊
@archangelalan be a shame if it is. I know the Ladybank the front mentioned going away to south America for a while. Let's hope it's just that for a while.

Being years since I was there - Punto del ray ... Around the corner was a newly made beach only being landscaped. I see it's fully decked out now with hotels all over the hillsides. Morgan shopping centre welcome addition ... Cause all there was, Puerto Rico shopping centre and not a lot else.
Yes I can imagine the development has been huge over the years, quite a thriving resort now. Its interesting looking back at photos and seeing what it used to look like.

Hello, I have just seen a notice pop up on Instagram for a place called Barbacoa who are having a Halloween party. I believe that us up at the Europa Commercial Centre.
We fly out in 2 weeks can't wait used to go there every year our last trip was right before covid started. The Mall had just opened then we are definitely going to try the Tipsy Bee on your recommendations. We are staying just up the hill from the centre the hotel is lit up at night. Stayed there before very nice. Taxis are so easy there that's why this year going back. Thank you both for your informative tours x
You're welcome Janine. Always nice to hear people take our recommendations on board. We loved Tipsy Bee and was a great place to go for our first meal when we went. Spoke a bit with a lady that works there before we left as she gave us some recommendations for our GC series so thought it was the least we could do. Turns out it was one of the best meals we had.
Love the video, been here many times, great review. just a bit of advice, my Spanish friend tells me the British thing they hate is guys walking around with no shirt on, beach or pool only, just a nod m8

You can get them as seen people drinking them but not sure on the price as we tend to stick to local drinks, cheaper. They probably will cost a bit more as they'd probably import it in I'd imagine
Think we.heard that one mentioned a few times. Unfortunately we never got there but if we happen to get back we will have a look. I'm not a seafood fan but Jacqui is. Enjoyed Puerto Rico though, had a great time.
To be honest we never used any taxis. However there we taxi ranks outside of the big commercial centre and from what I remember there were always taxis there.
Hi Steve, we did have every intention of going to Europa but we ran out of time. We met a few people and ended up meeting them most nights in the main centre.
Yeah dead easy to find the shops, all atvthe fiether end of the resort away from the beach, not really a massive resort so just head for the commercial centre. Hotels, only 2 I can remember were Hotel Greco and Hotel Vistamar near the beach.
@claremulholland2334 I'm not sure how good they are mind, but have a looka nd see if there's any recent reviews on TripAdvisor or somewhere like that 😊
@claremulholland2334 Well we enjoyed Puero Rico, first time we've stayed there. Amadores was nice and is about a 15-20 minute walk from PR. There's also Puerto de Mogan which is probably a bit quieter than PR. Amadores probably quiet too. If you want livelier then there's Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas. All depends what you want from your holiday I guess.
Loads of recommendations. I believe we summarised everything in the last video of this series with some tips and things. Loads of places to go like Amadores, hiring a car and getting up into the mountains. If you want something with a local flavour, head up to Teror on a Sunday for their local Market. Nice to get out and about and see some.of the island

@Adam Hayes, if you don’t want to drive, lowcosttours do a trip to Teror and San Mateo markets on a Sunday. You can dance to a live band outside San Mateo market if you’re feeling energetic!
I am going back to PR again in a phew daze time! Been here around a dozen times over the years... You have some cracking drone footage and I am thinking of taking mine. Do you need any special flying permissions like we do in the uk? Do you need to adhere to any local or international rules... or is a just a case of simply flying it ?? I would appreciate an honest answer please. Thank You. David
I've never had any issues flying my drone when there. Just taken it and flown it. All the usual practices you would adhere to in the UK apply there too.
Thanks for posting a great summary of the resort, we are heading out there soon and this helped a lot. I liked the aerial shots, what drone do you use if you don't mind me asking?

We use bigger ones for animal search and rescue at home but might just have to invest in a dji mini so we can go into more built up areas on our trip and more convenient for travel. Really enjoyed watching your videos thanks, as usually go to other islands, first time in gran canaria, looking forward to getting out there and trying the wigwam bar, as well as the little places down by the beach 🙂
@@bungabongo definitely worth having a look around, some lovely restaurants down near the beach too. Would love to get a bigger drone but wouldn't be great for using on these kind of trips. Quite fancy upgrading to the DJI mini 3. Check some of our other videos put, we managed to get out and about around the island. Episode 6 is probably our favourite episode that we've ever done. Scenery was fantastic.

I watched your video on puerto mogan, looks lovely and thanks will avoid market day, not my scene all those crowds but definitely will visit as harbour looks lovely. Mogan well worth a visit any other day than the Friday. Be a lovely place to spend the day and worth taking the ferry from Puerto Rico to see the coastline. Lovely restaurants and beach there.

Yeah decent resort, something completely different to Greece but nothing too rowdy. Some nice places just out of the resort as well.

My partner and I were there then too, but we were quite near the top of the hill , loved it there, was nice to see some of the places again , hoping to go back next year , just subscribed:)

You can get them as seen people drinking them but not sure on the price as we tend to stick to local drinks, cheaper. They probably will cost a bit more as they'd probably import it in I'd imagine
i was there a few months ago , would recommend the "Grill Cost Mar" restaurant if you like fish / seafood - was best meal we had in the resort
Think we.heard that one mentioned a few times. Unfortunately we never got there but if we happen to get back we will have a look. I'm not a seafood fan but Jacqui is. Enjoyed Puerto Rico though, had a great time.
Wats it like for taxis for family of 5 is it like Majorca and Ibiza very hard to get 6 or 7 seater taxi
To be honest we never used any taxis. However there we taxi ranks outside of the big commercial centre and from what I remember there were always taxis there.
Great video going in August staying near the top, did you go the europa centre which is at the too of the resort.
Hi Steve, we did have every intention of going to Europa but we ran out of time. We met a few people and ended up meeting them most nights in the main centre.
We stayed near the Europa centre once, nice place entertainment bar was good

Yeah dead easy to find the shops, all atvthe fiether end of the resort away from the beach, not really a massive resort so just head for the commercial centre.
Hotels, only 2 I can remember were Hotel Greco and Hotel Vistamar near the beach.

@claremulholland2334 Well we enjoyed Puero Rico, first time we've stayed there. Amadores was nice and is about a 15-20 minute walk from PR. There's also Puerto de Mogan which is probably a bit quieter than PR. Amadores probably quiet too. If you want livelier then there's Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas. All depends what you want from your holiday I guess.

@Adam Hayes, if you don’t want to drive, lowcosttours do a trip to Teror and San Mateo markets on a Sunday. You can dance to a live band outside San Mateo market if you’re feeling energetic!
How much for the sunbeds?
We never actually hired any of the sun beds, we just had our towels and sat on the beach 😎
I am going back to PR again in a phew daze time! Been here around a dozen times over the years... You have some cracking drone footage and I am thinking of taking mine. Do you need any special flying permissions like we do in the uk? Do you need to adhere to any local or international rules... or is a just a case of simply flying it ?? I would appreciate an honest answer please. Thank You. David
I've never had any issues flying my drone when there. Just taken it and flown it. All the usual practices you would adhere to in the UK apply there too.

I just use the original DJI mavic mini, handy for taking on these type of trips.
@@continentalcoxons thanks, makes a lot of sense. We use bigger ones for animal search and rescue at home but might just have to invest in a dji mini so we can go into more built up areas on our trip and more convenient for travel. Really enjoyed watching your videos thanks, as usually go to other islands, first time in gran canaria, looking forward to getting out there and trying the wigwam bar, as well as the little places down by the beach 🙂
@@bungabongo definitely worth having a look around, some lovely restaurants down near the beach too.
Would love to get a bigger drone but wouldn't be great for using on these kind of trips. Quite fancy upgrading to the DJI mini 3.
Check some of our other videos put, we managed to get out and about around the island. Episode 6 is probably our favourite episode that we've ever done. Scenery was fantastic.

I watched your video on puerto mogan, looks lovely and thanks will avoid market day, not my scene all those crowds but definitely will visit as harbour looks lovely. Mogan well worth a visit any other day than the Friday. Be a lovely place to spend the day and worth taking the ferry from Puerto Rico to see the coastline. Lovely restaurants and beach there.
