The explanation of why Atman is not the mind, and hence pain and pleasure do not affect Atman.
Mandukya Upanishad is the shortest Upanishad with only 12 mantras it. Gaudapada, who was the teacher of Shankaracharya’s teacher, Govindapada, wrote an explanatory Karika on it. This work popularly known as Mandukya Karika (that includes the Upanishad) is considered to be the first and most important work on Vedanta after the Upanishads.
The philosophy throughout the book is a clear presentation of Advaita Vedanta based on arguments. In the process, it decimates every other philosophy.

Maharaj I think ekane atmar star theke bla hoeche sristi nei. Apato dristite mone hoy prakritir sristi ache but atmai ei prakriti rupe pratibimbito hochche. Jamon moydar dough theke anek gulo play doughs hoy but all of them are nothing but flour and if we knead all the play doughs one by one , it turns into motherdough again . arthat we think each play doughs are different from the other but from the standpoint of atman there was flour before making dough and there will be flour after kneading it , means there's no creation. Am I right, Maharaj??

What you say is from Vedanta stand point, as explained in the Karika. But the arguments used are from the standpoint of respective philosophies to show that Atman does not experience the pleasure and pain.

@IndianSpiritualHeritage yes Maharaj , Paramatman who has neither birth nor death, from where will its pleasure and pain come . It's applicable only for prakriti (jibatma ) .
