I am a hoarder on my way to having minimalist style. It's been years upon years of getting rid of things, organizing, and just having a better lifestyle in general. I sometimes give up on cleaning, and seeing rooms that are so perfect gives me motivation.

This is a fact about my childhood because people keep sharing theirs. My Mum never helped me clean my room! Instead, we had this thing called, “Sweety Friday” if my and my sister were good throughout the week and kept pour roooms tidy then we could get some money each at theend of each week to buy some sweets! We dont do it anymore because I’m thirteen now, but it taught me a good lesson! Love ya Mum ❤❤

I had something similar, every day if my room was clean at the end I'd get a sticker to add on to a grid with 20-30 ish boxes, once I'd finished the grid I'd get a reward like a cinema trip or something. It was really good cos it taught me patience as well as hoe to be tidy

I had something like this too, except it was if our rooms weren't clean we weren't allowed on any electronics until they were, thanks mum 🥲 (we didn't get any money or sweets or rewards since my parents wanted it to become a habit)

well....to be honest, my mother and father did this for me always kept my room clean and everything but as I grew up I saw what I needed to do and saw what was right from wrong...and now that I'm 21 I have my room clean the way that they have always done it and the little house I'm trying to buy is very nice and not messy....but there are some other people who are not like that....they will think it is right for others to clean there mess...which is not.....but it's fine...life is life and you can't stop one person just because they are not doing it your way they would have to learn how to do it their way to learn from the mistakes....but anyway enjoy Ur day/night.

My mom would help me clean my room when I was young because my room would be a disaster zone, but now I just tidy it every Sunday alone so it won’t be so messy again (sometimes I do a full clean reset though)

Ikr. That’s literally my mom too. The funny thing about this is, most of these kids have iPads, and Nintendos, and t.v.s in their rooms. How are they old enough to have all of that but not old enough to clean their own rooms.

@@Eleanor526 My parents gave me that stuff but they put timer apps that locked my tablet at a certain point. On my tv they only allowed kids channels. I didn't receive a phone until i was 13 and it still has timers on it.

People sharing stories of their childhood, so lets join in. My parents lucked out with me lol. I was naturally a pretty obsessively organized kid because my toys HAD to be kept in certain groups and with their original accessories/etc. My mom did absolutely vacuum for me and round up laundry though. :)
The real question is why tf all these obviously pretty young kids have full blown TV setups in their room. That's insane to me. :,D
I was also organized.. And allowance exist. they could earn good grades, help there parents, help babysit there siblings and earn and save up for a tablet/ or tv. let’s not jump into assumptions. Young or not.

I had a previous comment about this that I had to delete due to hate so I’d like to explain what I said better. If you are cleaning your kids room (as in they never clean their room it’s only you all the time) and they are physically and mentally able/old enough to do so themselves it is a problem. Helping out once and a while is perfectly fine, but it can be a serious invasion of privacy and also cleaning is a good life skill to learn earlier on as to prevent having to get used to it later.

I thought the same thing lol but that person could have type one diabetes (I have the condition) so if they are in a hypo (means bloods are low) they need to eat so their bloods will go up to the right blood! Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I hope this helps :)

Sometimes the parents who are on social media tell there kids not to clean there room(s) for that day so the parent can make a video of them cleaning it. I've heard of TH-camrs doing that. If there filming a cleaning video they tell there kids not to clean there room. It's for content and views. Doesn't mean anyone is a bad parent
