If you are a cook that's when the restaurant opens... But also if you're closing you show up around 4:00 and clean the line until 1 or 2 a.m. Main character syndrome? Lol😅
What a great episode. Not only does tosh find interesting guests, they always speak so well and do great keeping up with him and that's not easy. What a great podcast this has been.
Just an interesting fella right? No wonder he was suggested to help Tosh repair his airstream without any experience. His adoption story was Fuckin cool lol. You can tell he’s a genuine dude :)
I absolutely love the mental picture I’m getting of this dude trying to work and Daniel sitting there like “ wait a goddamn minute….the medium said what about your adopted parents?”
@@arrsequoia4087 right?!? Like I bet around 5 or 6 the guy is like packing up saying “ well Daniel I’m finished for the day I’ll be back tomorrow” and Daniel just cracks a beer and hands it to him “ buddy we are just getting started…”
That’s the thing about cold readings - they’re reasonably accurate enough of the time for people like this to get hooked and share their experience. 1. Men die earlier than women 2. If a woman gives a child up for adoption, chances are she doesn’t want to be contacted or reminded about it later in life. None of this is surprising.
I’m 44 now, I began the quest right after my father died two years ago. It was also the same year my oldest child graduated. I have a bio mother who cannot cope with this but I have a good relationship with my aunt who was 15 when I was born. My grandfather is alive and the same age as my mom, I have a half brother who looks just like me, my aunt says we have the same voice. He is aware of me but has made no contact. It’s tough but essential for us to confront our feelings about our adoption. Good luck buddy, the roller coaster runs hard and fast but I’m not jumping off.
I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome; my brothers accepted/invited me instantly, my BioMom was cautious but friendly, the extended relatives have been great, it’s all out in the open and seems as easy as anything else.
This is great stuff, I've been down in Brazil for 8 months (I live in TN the rest if the time) and I don't have any english speaking guy friends down here, it's really nice to get the feeling that I am having a social experience with some old friends and pass 45mins on a Tues morning. Great guest, very interesting story, admirable, hard working everyman, with a little something extra. Competent men deserve more recognition. Lot of heart and a great sense of humor this week too.
Did not expect an adoption backstory becoming the main story but it was GLORIOUS! Tosh hits it out of the park with another great great interview. We need him doing 60 minutes interviews. Sic him on Trump, Biden, Kim Jong Un and Putin. Those would be some hard hitting pieces!
This was by far my favorite episode of this show ! Love how Tosh ribs him thru out the interview like everyone. Its about the jobsite things that people dont usually ask about tho! hahaha . Love you tosh
As a birth mother, I really appreciated Daniel's compassion for his guest's bio-mom, then to also share he has considered adoption for his own family? It was just a beautiful little moment for me. Thanks Daniel!
I don’t think he was on the BM’s side, you just heard what you wanted lol. She moved across the country for a year to give up a kid she didn’t want and then had some more of her own. That’s a terrible mother.
Scott is chill af. Seems like a good dude. My Dad was carpenter and contractor. Growing up he always had a bud who was like Scott. Down to earth, easy going bro whose gf was a smoke show
As someone who built a Skoolie in 2019, watching this makes me feel much better. I have construction experience but had never built a tiny home. I thought it would take me 3 months, took 6. And it cost half what this guy charged and 1/3 of what Tosh paid. My estimate was off but so much less than this. LMAO
Super side note, a couple of weeks ago I was diving into old clips on TH-cam and I found what might be the first Web Redemption before Tosh did it. This used to be an old late night show in Mexico called “Otro Rollo” just search on YT: “Entrevista a edgar de “la caida de edgar” en otro rollo”. Same process, shows the original clip, interviews/roast the kid and has him redeem himself in another video. Worth the watch (especially if you are Spanish speaker) kind of crazy.
I'm pretty sure he'll never see this but on Saturday I saw Daniel live and he was absolutely phenomenal. If you ever get the chance to see him live, I can't recommend it enough. If you think he's raunchy on TV, he's even raunchier when the cameras are off.
Were you a little bit clumsy? Hahaha, so honest. Love it. 😂 it just comes to mind: you are just so not the stereotype Americans we see on the news. Such a relief. Love it. And much respect for Scott. Wish him the best.
Daniel Tosh, I imagine you kind of don't like the IDEA of having a podcast, but I am absolutely, WE are absolutely loving your podcast. I'm always excited to watch every week. It's a treat. I had a chance to see your stand up like 10 years ago and had to turn it down because my parents guilt tripped me with who was taking me. Someday, I'll see you in person. Much love, man!
That airstream came out beautiful. For a second time project, he did the work of an absolute pro. Great job, and congratulations on getting to know and love your other family as well.
I was adopted and it's something I would love to do myself when I'm more financially stable. I had a terrible childhood and was put in foster care when I was 8. As a child I experienced heavy drug use and alcoholism, sex work, homelessness, being crammed in motel rooms with up to 7 people, etc. It wasn't a life I would wish on anyone. When I was put in foster care, I had two families before the third one ended up being the ones who adopted me. The first family were religious nutjobs and we were forced to eat a bowl of vegetables at dinner or we got the paddle. To this day I can't stand lima beans. And the second family was the stereotypical, "in it for the money" type. Terry and Terri. They had two kids of their own while they were fostering another half dozen or more. We lived in the basement. While they were eating nice dinners upstairs as a family, we were eating sandwiches downstairs. Overall, just terrible people. I was crammed in a converted laundry closet with a kid I believe had autism or something, he kept me up most nights, he wouldn't shut up. But then I found my forever home. They have since passed away, including all my grandparents. But it was the best thing that ever happened to me and I wouldn't change anything. I'm a big supporter of adoption.
Good on you! FYI, the genetic test was a little more than $100. If you have a blood relative on the same (or several other services) you’ll know. It’s a wide net they throw out.
