I'm on an old-school WCF nostalgia kick! This was one of the best of all of them. That Ghost would not be able to kill the Nexus btw, he doesn't have the dps to outlast his cloak energy. Vanguard was right to leave, it was over. Epic game.
@@meoka2368 As soon as the Ghost leaves, the shields regen way faster than his energy. So will be fully shielded when he comes back... but he will never make it anyway. After about 4 minutes the game auto-draws. He might have drawn, maybe...... but he chose to leave instead. All good!
@@ZC.Andrew If the ghost gets the shields down and does even one hit point of damage to the structure, then it'd be possible even if the shields fully recharge. It'd just take a long time. One hit point at a time. And damage keeps the game from drawing, so would have kept it going.
I love how you guys personalize things in this game... giving units names and lines/dialogues is just hilarious. That scv is saying: "dont worry I will fix you" is so funny :-D Keep it up. Cheees.
For that idea about the block towers, add this little tidbit to it. Instead of just having one type of block all the way up, use different ones to mark different causes of death. For example, dirt could mean killed by mob, sand can be starved to death, cobble can be an epic fail, etc.
If you look at the board, there is only one pylon location where the ghost can't snipe them away in the top left. Go to time index 29:25 to get a look. So, the Terran flies around waiting until that's all that's remaining. Then the Terran sends his cloaked ghost to stand right next to each of the Protoss' units and shoots them to death until the army's dead. The ghost will kill them all eventually then just land. Come to think of it, just do the latter part, screw sniping the buildings.
This could be a hilarious Novewar Says game. "Colonization" Can only attack as long a planetary fortress is in the attack army. An attack arm can only consist of marines.
23:17 is the exactly time where you can see stalkers shooting at one ghost (and you know it was a ghost by 23:20) People seems to think that the ghost was nuked. Vanguard would've never done such thing.. maybe
Novawar says "Vanguard" or "Bob the Builder" or "This New House" or "Hard Hat Mike" One SCV (I like calling him Hard Hat Mike) says screw collecting minerals after a few minutes (or when NWS) and decides to make command centers non stop. You have to always have enough minerals to build the next command but what you do with them is up to you. GL and HF!
Wait for 200 energy, cloak, snipe probe, run away, uncloak, repeat 3 times. Though admittedly, you may be better off killing the nexus. Once you start doing hull damage to it, regaining a full energy bar allows you to emp what shields have gone and just carry on as normal.
On that 5 hour Starcraft game, I remember during highschool a friend and I had 16 hour game in Empire Earth all the way from The Stone Age to The Nano Age
ROFL - you guys are hillarious! "He could duct tape the trigger". "He could turn around and give usthe finger". That was a funny game, but you two made it so much better. Good Job.
Hey guys! I watch all of your videos, and would like to say how fantastic season six has started out. The first game was an original, unique cheese, and this game was thoroughly entertaining (and well casted.) Keep up the good work.
If he had made the ghosts in his main and nuked the natural probes he would have won. Getting those nukes in a more vital spot and a minute sooner would have been killer.
Novawar says: Vanguard! You can only attack with one kind of unit at a time. For example: You have a Zealot, stalker, immortal army. First goes the Zealots, then the stalkers and then the immortals! :D
Adam, when you build that tower, don't just build like a pillar. Build an actual tower with stairs inside to climb to the top with each floor dedicated to a death. I recommend low ceilings :3 Bonus Points for each floor having decals dedicated to HOW the death happened =D
I once decided to float a command from my main because I was planning to expand but scouted that he had absolutely no defenses yet, and it was a small map
Thumbs up so Jeff and Adam can see. In Brood War, the static Zerg defence were "Sunken Colony" with 300 health and Subterranean Tentacle attack which deals 40 damage to Ground Targets (20 to small units) ; and "Spore Colony", with 400 health and Seeker Spore attack which deals 15 damage to Air Targets, also having Detector-ability.
I think his ghost had enough energy when it cloaked in the end to finish the nexus. Just stay, finish it, and it's draw OR win (cuz he did have a main+worker :D)
It wouldn't have been a draw! It would've been a win for Vanguard! His ghost would've taken forever to kill everything, but as long as he goes and hides whilst getting his cloak energy back over and over, GG.
All that logic.... that should have been obvious, I mean even Adam said it. by 12 minutes in. Thanks you for taking the time to set that foo straight :3
yes with full energy and unupgraded attack the ghost would do 1172.5 damage before its cloak runs out, and the nexus has 1000 shields, so it would take alot of micro and time but yes one ghost could hit and run a nexus to kill it
No, sunken colonies attacked ground by shooting spines up from underground. Spore colonies (which also evolved from creep colonies) where the structures that hit air. The structure is really the same as it was in BW with the exception that it isn't evolved from anything in SC2.
That was awesome guys. This video is very true to the spirit of WCF! I like how the cheeser was kinda of a d*ck in his strategies but still well mannered in his chat, and even gg at the end.
Nope. Whats-his-name had at least a stalker for every base, so the other dude couldn't have landed. Of course, Protoss wasn't very smart, plus he might have been a bit taken aback with the loss of his nexus, so maybe he would have shit the bed and not have prevented the landing of the CC. I find that a bit hard to swallow, but you can always dream. :)
The thing that bothered me the most about this is the nuke placements. I don't even play this game and I was talking to the screen "Why? Why are you dropping a nuke on on cannon and not, I don't know, his mineral line? Maybe all those forces he has."
One time in SC2 I floated to an island and built a ton of spore crawlers, except my opponent never scouted it for some reason... also, POLANETARY FOROTDDS!!!
I actually tried a 200/200 roach army when he only had about 7 Thor and a good sized marine ball (Doubt it was even a 200 army) and it crushed me. Then I remaxxed and sent another 200 Roach army at him as soon as I could from 6 bases with all injects done. I destroyed what was left of his army and took out one of his expansions, but he ended up just making more Thor and marine and rolling me time and time again. Guess I need to go learn Infestor Micro, I'm Bronze obviously... this should be fun.
Vanguard: not sure if troll, bad or having fun. Kills should really power up your units to promote micro :D Febrezio: Obviously beat the campaign on Casual.
Febrezio only had 198 mineral. He wouldn't easily be able to send out an endless supply of probes chrono'd probes and build several cannon with a single non-mining probe. If the Nexus fell (or wasted mineral on 3-4 probes which died), it would have been a draw since the Terran CC couldn't be destroyed.
I think something similar is coming in Heart of the Swarm. Apparently you can continue games from replays in case you're at a tournament and the network dies etc.
holy shit i love these two and their commentaries. this one they talk about some funny shit and then throws out dragonball z in a fucking starcraft gameand references it! that is awesome!
It would be very difficult for him to kill that Nexus. He didn't have enough energy to stay cloaked for long. He would have to run away and NOT be chased and recover energy, and somehow make it back. He would not have energy to kill the Nexus with one charge, so he would need to be lucky AGAIN to escape. Plus, he did not know his mineral count, or even if there wasn't another Nexus in the game.
You missed one. At 23:47 he drops one to kill the other cannon on the low ground. You hear it go off and destroy the cannon at 24:01. Watch the mini map on the bottom left corner and you will see some of the red buildings disappear. You probably missed it cause Adam and Jeff missed it too.
Hm... if Toss researched Hallucination and hallucinated an air unit, he could have made the CC auto move away from being attacked and into his Stalker army, unless Terran realized it and kept it on hold position. At least I *think* that would work.
i'm probably not the first to say this (didn't read all the comments) but in starcraft it was creep colony and then that morphed into either a sunken colony or spore colony
Guys, just a quick point surely if the terran did kill the nexus he has a cc and scv to collect minerals (yes very slow). He could of then had the nuke/pf/army to kill the protoss off and ultiamtely win the game!!!!
It would have been epic if Vanguard won, cause he could have! No Nexus/noincome = limited units. Gather mins with SCVs and lift off when they come towards them. Then go mine again until he can build marauders and rines. HE COULD HAVE WON, if he were patient. Either Frebrez would leave or he could kill all Stalkers/Sentries. But good effort
You don't have to kill everything in 5 minutes, you just have to kill a building every 6 minutes. So it would take a while, but it would make the game that much more epic. Also, it looks like it's possible to kill off the pylons powering the cannons without engaging the cannons themselves.
Actually, if the Terran played smart and I mean REALLY smart, he could use that one scv and command centre to mine various places in the map and extend the game even longer. The Terran could have gone for a win, not just a draw. It would have been risky, but it could have been done!
i did go back and watch it again... 23 nukes dropped. confirmed. 23!
ilerminaty!!!!!11
23 is the number of destruction, actually.
23 thumbs up... for the 23 nukes dropped lol
You're a hero and I salute you.
I'm on an old-school WCF nostalgia kick! This was one of the best of all of them. That Ghost would not be able to kill the Nexus btw, he doesn't have the dps to outlast his cloak energy. Vanguard was right to leave, it was over. Epic game.
Even if the ghost only hit the actual hit points a little, then ran off again, it could happen. Might take hours, but it could happen.
@@meoka2368 As soon as the Ghost leaves, the shields regen way faster than his energy. So will be fully shielded when he comes back... but he will never make it anyway. After about 4 minutes the game auto-draws. He might have drawn, maybe...... but he chose to leave instead. All good!

@@meoka2368 The game will forfeit itself before that happens. The Ghost lacks the DPS to make it through the timer.
So sour that vanguard gg'd out, God I would've loved to see him win this game or bring it to a draw.
true :D
I definitely was going for the cheeser. Epic cheese!
I love how you guys personalize things in this game... giving units names and lines/dialogues is just hilarious.
That scv is saying: "dont worry I will fix you" is so funny :-D
Keep it up.
Cheees.
Searching for Vanguard in the comments. After 4 whole years he must have seen this Video :(
probably, he sent it in since there's terran music playing
And today i learned the ghosts are left handed ^_^
For that idea about the block towers, add this little tidbit to it. Instead of just having one type of block all the way up, use different ones to mark different causes of death. For example, dirt could mean killed by mob, sand can be starved to death, cobble can be an epic fail, etc.

"Colonization"
Can only attack as long a planetary fortress is in the attack army. An attack arm can only consist of marines.

this may have been the greatest when cheese fails I have seen so far, even beating episode 8 in terms of holy crap awesomenes.

Nukes, PFs and void rays. You add a mothership and it makes for the most epic game ever.
getting warp gate research after 20 minutes.
Absolute standart.

Every time a nuke lands shout Hadouken. Feels so much better

You can only attack with one kind of unit at a time. For example: You have a Zealot, stalker, immortal army. First goes the Zealots, then the stalkers and then the immortals! :D
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! He shouldn't have left!

I once decided to float a command from my main because I was planning to expand but scouted that he had absolutely no defenses yet, and it was a small map

I think his ghost had enough energy when it cloaked in the end to finish the nexus. Just stay, finish it, and it's draw OR win (cuz he did have a main+worker :D)

I've been waiting for you guys to cast a BroodWar game since the moment I started watching. Please do it, please.
I can see it now next week will be a game cannons and more cannons for the entire game.
All that logic.... that should have been obvious, I mean even Adam said it. by 12 minutes in. Thanks you for taking the time to set that foo straight :3
This needs to get into NovaWar says. If the FireToBlaze build is possible, there should also be a Vanguard build.
That ghost with 70 kills should be on the unit hall of fame
I do it all the time, mass ghost, mass reaper, mass vikings (vs. zerg to kill ovies), probe-sentry push, it's so fun.
This reminds me of the pf aggression fun day Monday from Day9 combined with the nukes Dr. Sues one.

On first glance I thought you meant to say, the counter to nukes is a simple number. Gosh, how I wish that was true.
Even if the ghost killed the last probe, Protoss could just make 3 more probes and mine.
Also: this was a really good match.
Now this ghost is soooo going to the unit hall of fame !
actually guys they were "creep colonies" then you could morph em into either sunken colonies or spore colonies thing was they were static defense
this discovery has made my week. Thank you good sir!

That one ghost didnt nuke himself, he was decloaked when the mass stalkers came out of Feberezio's main

Some very nice puns this game, well done Sirs. Btw, that Protoss had some Maximus money most of that game lol...

if you keep track of minecraft deaths with block towers you should have said "im gonna have to build a staircase.... to heaven"... lol
vanguard was not aware that he was on only 1 base i think. That or he loved that ghost so much that he would not risk him dying.
The ghost probably wouldn't be able to kill the nexus, but he could have tried to take out any probes that came out.
Guys, just a quick point surely if the terran did kill the nexus he has a cc and scv to collect minerals (yes very slow). He could of then had the nuke/pf/army to kill the protoss off and ultiamtely win the game!!!!

I bet the cheeser was originally doing the terran Attack of the Buildings Day[9] daily and just didn't get picked up.
10:50 "Sometimes i like to TOSS it out there" *slow giggle*
Been done, it was called "Microwave." He lost, but he tried his DAMNDEST to win. It was hilarious, but it just couldn't work.
This is turning into the season of Funday Monday.
Planetary fortress spam needs to be the next NovaWar says!
I've never cheered so hard for a cheesing player.
Awesome, I'm not going to check your math/facts, but I think that he would've done it. Remember, the Protoss was VERY slow to react (Observers).
I like that terran, he was pretty bad ass =) also i think he had a lot of fun playing this game. its better then play random boring matches :D
Actually, if the Terran played smart and I mean REALLY smart, he could use that one scv and command centre to mine various places in the map and extend the game even longer. The Terran could have gone for a win, not just a draw. It would have been risky, but it could have been done!
This is a Ghost! He isn't "just shooting"! He aims at the Nexus' weak spots!
