yeah , I think ios is better at optimizing apps. wait a sec I just tried the swipe gesture after opening like 10 apps or something in my pixel 5a , to my surprise all the apps opened where I left off and it was butter smooth. if only pixel would switch its chipset , I could say it'll be the best phone (equal or better than iphone at a reasonable prize). mine uses sd765g , I don't game and charge lasts about 9hrs of SOT. So with adaptive charging I usually charge it overnight. The only problem I've is google doesn't care much about snapdragon chipsets so won't give newer exclusive pixel feature drops to this phone. Otherwise it's a 10/10 for me.
