Thank u for the pawn break section . Sometimes when it’s a closed game and tactics aren’t coming to my mind I get confused as to what I should move and I think the pawn break thing is prolly the best thing to do
___The 10 Rules Of Thumb__ 1. Queen on c2 & e2(white)/c7 & e7(black) is great in the opening 2. Always put rooks behind passed pawns in an endgame 3. Always castle early 4. Knight on f3 (white)/ f6 (black) is best for the kingside knight (99% of the time) 5. Queenside Castle - King b1/b8; Kingside Castle - King h1/h8 (if you moved the f pawn) 6. Get your king active in the endgame 7. Learn basic King & Pawn Endgames 8. Always look for pawn breaks in a position 9. Do not leave pieces undefended 10. Knight e5(white)/e6 (black) is very strong when you have a stable d pawn [a.k.a get a good central knight]
All rules are good ideas, and thank you for your effort. Except one in my humble opinion. Castling early is not always a good idea. Especially if your opponent is waiting to see which side you're going to castle in order to organize their attack. I would try to gauge the opponent's intentions before deciding where and when to castle. But yes, you want to safeguard your king as much as possible.
I HAVE BELOVED INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS IN ENGLAND & SPAIN THAT I GREATLY ENJOY PLAYING WITH, I'M STRONGER THEN THEY AND HAVE BEEN SHARING SO MUCH I'VE LEARNED WITH THEM THROUGH A LIFETIME OF PRACTICE, MEDIUM STUDY AND MANY MONTHS OF BENEFIT BELONGING TO A LOCAL CHESS CLUB. YOUR VIDEO HERE HITS THE POWERFUL BASICS THAT FEW WEAKER PLAYERS PRACTICE. I'M SHARING YOUR VIDEOS WITH THEM AND AS A DEVOTED SUBSCRIBER ASK YOU PLEASE MAKE MORE CONTENT ON THIS TYPE OF THEME!. BLESSINGS FROM OREGON, AND THANK YOU! ... MIKE.
The tutorial could have done with clarifying whether the best position of the white knight being F3 is on the assumption of castling King-side and if C3 is ideal when doing so Queen-side.
You say you’re going to give us “Ten chess rules of thumb,” then you don’t tell us what the correct moves are in those endgame positions. What’s the point? Waste of time.
Calculate. Neither is very hard. Ke8 if Kf6, Kf8, e7+, Ke8, and the only move to protect the pawn is Ke6 stalemate. In the second position, white has Kg7, which is the only move that doesn't either let the black king into the corner or that doesn't get white trapped in front of the pawn.
Great rules of thumb. Thank you! Keep them coming please!

Position 1 - Ke8 is the only move to draw
Position 2 - Kg7 is the only move to win 😎♟️
The point is:
Learn the basics of the endgame!
