I got called to a storm sewer overflow discharging in dry weather because of a blockage on the system once, there was a trail of bog paper and turds running down the river for about 20 yards and the chub were going crazy, they loved it. Great idea for a video, chub fishing with bog paper and turds.
As a young teenager, I used to fish a delightful treated sewage outflow called Pymmes Brook, behind the R.Lea at Tottenham Hale (London) there were monster Perch (4lb plus) to be had but never for me - not even accidentally! I love this fine film, it brings back so many memories - thank you & VBW x
honestly ,an hour or two's bit bashing is one of lifes underrated pleasures, especially on a sunny day, light breeze, basic light float tackle and a flask of tea...
All the sewage from Newquay used to whoosh straight into the sea. You could get some nice mullet there- the only time I’ve seen excess fat under a fish’s skin. Once a day all the problem items, cloth items, ladies items, blockages, etc., would be forced out from somewhere. The sea would turn solid dark poop brown and this blob would go around the corner to Fistral beach. It was best to stop fishing during the ‘purge’.
Highly entertaining, well done. I like how you seem to find a slightly different angle to build in, not that easy when all the world and his mates have gopros & DSLRs! Keep 'em coming, please?
I’m duel licensed for water and waste water. Water coming out of waste water plant can be safer and cleaner than water going into a surface water plant. There is a waste water class instructor in Texas that proves that point by drinking the treated waste water from a local waste water plant.
Nice1 pal great vid that some lovely pike 👍 i spin for wild browns but want to go after big pike and perch, ive caught loads of small perch and jack pike at my local canal but its been fished to death 😠😠😠😠😠 i live in Edinburgh city centre and dont drive so im sorta stuck for places to go 😩 ✌💙👍 from Scotland 👋❤🎣
There's a pipe that pumps out warm water between battersea Bridge and Wandsworth Bridge on the Thames. Hard to get to the spot because private property etc, but some monsters live there supposedly. Like local legend.
Great stuff man. Reminds me of sessions down my local River Wreake and Soar here in Leicestershire with swims full of scrappy little jacks. Sport fishing Essox style.☺👍
I love your videos and content... I’m not a fisherman but like John Wilson I love your content dude! Just wondering what video maker you use as I do detecting and need a good app. Good luck on your next one cheers Thomas
Its interesting how you call Northern Pike " Jack Pike" here in the U.S. Ive heard that term applied to whats also called a "Chain Pickerel" a fish in the Pike/Muskie family that averages smaller and is found mainly in the warmer waters of the Southeastern states, along with several other Pickerel species that are much smaller!
I had a walk up and down Beighton river last year near Sheffield and in a few hours had over 200 little fish out like that, biggest one was around 4oz it started to get annoying after around 50 fish, but I had to carry on just to see how many I could catch, at around 200 fish I stopped counting. I bet the whole catch for the day amounted to less than 10lb of fish, was still a fun day even tho I did t catch any propper fish . P.s that was on white bread
Great video mate really enjoyed watching this one, I'm out sewer fishing tomorrow it's called the Mersey! 😂🤣 I do miss this type of fishing I used to do it a lot when I lived in Surrey for a couple of years but sadly back on the Wirral we don't have this sort of natural freshwater fishing it's all man made carp ponds! 👎💩💩💩
Good video bud. You should try and find a spot where warm water enters a river from a power station, at the right time those spots can be unreal. There is a spot in Ireland on the River Shannon were there is such place, and if your there at the right time it's a place dreams come through.
Do you have to pay someone to fish on that land? I'm in british columbia canada so I am not sure, I know you have to pay each day on a lot of properties over there, but not sure if all?
squamishfish most waters are leased to clubs or retained by the land owner. Many clubs provide for an annual membership which for coarse fish can work out at just a few pounds per week or less. Salmon and trout rivers charge a lot more
@@phildean8797 ok thanks, I live in Vancouver, we have lots of lakes, rivers and ocean front, we just pay for 2 licences salt water and fresh water one time for a year, no charges for fishing from any shore,
@@phildean8797 great thanks, here the main reason is the salmon funding from the licensing supports all aspects of protecting the salmon and other species, it is only 36 dollars a year well worth it ,
The fishing licence monies are ring fenced and go back into fishing. The licence for non migratory fish and eels is very cheep. The salmon and sea trout licence is about 5 times as much. Most waters dont hold a large head of migratory fish so most don’t buy the salmon licence. In my region there are more migratory fish so I buy the licence which covers all fresh water fish.
Tommy Thompson Fishing Hi well I have had a few sessions on there, but the rowers make it virtually impossible during the day. However one day I might try a night session which will enable me to keep a bait in the water for more than 5 mins! Sure I could try lure fishing but the thick weed growth hampers that as well and I have watched a lot of other people lure fishing without any result. Bill
Easy Fishing I was floatfishing for bleak and roach but like 100 rowers teared throw my swim and made it impossible to fish and me and my friends have resorted to the back river because of the rowers and thick weed growth making it hard on the main river
Tommy Thompson Fishing Hi so you are having the same problems as me! The natural river has a good head of pike and it’s where I fly fish for them as even a small pike gives a good fight but have only tried it in summer. I used to catch a lot of roach on the waggler below the wooden bridge but kept getting roach taken by pike! The weirpools also hold some good fish and I have had fish to about 14lbs on deadbaits. But don’t give up on the rowing course it’s difficult but holds some very big fish of various species. Bill
Easy Fishing yeah other weir with the kayak training thingys has a very good head of big perch with the biggest 4lb 5oz On a livebait bleak and the lock has been producing a lot of small jacks and a lot of 1lb+. Perch
Been fishing in the local sewer outlets for years now had some good fish out. 5lb perch. 5lb chub. 7lb tench. 10 lb bream. 20lb pike. Worth giving it a try.
Great vid. Good editing, nice transitions and some good perspective shots and not too much GoPro. You’ve done your videography homework. “Wiffout furver ado....” Thank you

It's a river and also now it has untreated sewage into it.

Finally someone else who uses lite gear for pike and not heavy gear keep it up bud
The ginger fisherman is defo one the best for fishing 🎣 on you tube for me, intelligent guy! Keep it up 👍
I did enjoy it fella thanks for letting us in to your day.
Sewer fishing. You might catch a few nice browns. LOL 😂😂😂
Cigar fish, used to be very common on the river mersey.
The elusive brown bobber fish. Best bait to use is spicy tacos and curry
Jay Es not elusive in some areas fella, common in places like suez canal and some other Asian countries. 😁
The last one that was caught was full of sweetcorn when they unhooked it!
G S a jolly green giant then?! 😂

Have you tried using sprats and twitching them (see Graeme Pullen's channel)? Works a treat and saves having to catch bait fish.
If you close ur eyes he sounds like Tyson fury
alex johnson It is Tyson Fury
Great quality vid !! Very informative cheers man 👌🏻
Looks like great fun ....Thanks for sharing 👍
Nice fish! Always wanted to catch a pike, not very likely, here in South Africa!
Bussy wee day that was looked great fun. Hope your Christmas season has been good hope your new year is great

Merry Christmas Chris. Have a good one!

We'll it's just common sense isn't it? Why would the water that needs to be treated, be cleaner than the water that has already been treated?
mega spots some of those warm water outlets, nice fishing👍🎣
Enjoyed this mate, big Fisher man here in Scotland myself will have videos up this year, great catches, just loved it,🏴👍🎣

All species of fish are fun to fish for no matter their size
Nice to see you using a landing net for a change instead of struggling.
Catching even little jack pike is good fun on a little light rod like that.
When I fish I give the fish I catch a little health check. I remove any parasites and treat any wounds .
What to watch them logs,, top videos keep it up,,, we're there water there is fishing
Used to have cracking piking sessions on leeds liverpool canal at riley green boat yard best was.14lb not massive but big enough
Cracking stuff mate, got to be the best time of year for a bit river roving some quality heads of roach to be had if can get on them
Another great video ...Very brave sticking your hand in to land him as well 👍💪🎣
Nice simplistic way of fishing. Well done 👍
Have you tried trapping American Signal Crayfish at your outlets in the winter ?.
What tackle is used for your fishing , thanks
that little rod can take one heck of beating lmao
Great clip Chris - thanks for sharing - nice one
Been thinking of fishing a sewage outflow in my North Yorkshire village for a while now. Youve motivated me to get it done. Thanks.
Happy Christmas.

Great video!
Merry Christmas and tight lines for the new year!
13.14 did eany one se that worm thing on that pike if eany one could tell me pleas let me no
It's a leech
There's a sewer outlet near me on the canal. It's a mega carp hotspot, as the water is a bit warmer. Absolutely loads of natural food for them.
Theres one near me going into a brook, keep meaning to give it a try. Theres a few carp in there so im wondering if they would sit near it
Is that at back of hallcroft mate
What rod is it your using please? A short spinning rod?

To us in the UK a jack pike is a small male one, generally one under 10 pounds.
Yes agreed up and down England jack pike are generally referred to as smaller pike, young fish up to around 8to10lb
Hope to see the Roach video soon love catching them from rivers so beautiful
Great session, as usual, I will try get out over Christmas,
I had a walk up and down Beighton river last year near Sheffield and in a few hours had over 200 little fish out like that, biggest one was around 4oz it started to get annoying after around 50 fish, but I had to carry on just to see how many I could catch, at around 200 fish I stopped counting. Sea fishing doesn’t need a licence at all but fresh water needs a government licence and land owners permission.

I love your channel as you have a different angle. I know how much effort it takes to do these video’s so I appreciate them. Regards Bill
