- A wonderful and RARE interview with Barbra and Jim within months of them meeting (This part includes James - Part 1 is Barbra only). They were already engaged when this interview was done, not married yet. They discuss how they met and how many times Jim had to ask her to marry him before she finally agreed! As of now, December 2012, Barbra Streisand and James Brolin have been together for 16 years, married for 14 years (they married in the summer of 1998).
Love. I had that with my husband. We were blessed, and even though he died on Christmas Day, 2016, the love endures. I’m happy for Barbra for finding this kind of love.

They just celebrated their 20th anniversary, what an adorable couple
Yep and now they're both getting up there in age... he's about 80
And another couple that's still together all these years and is getting up there in age and also living in Malibu like them is Sam Elliott and Katharine Ross

I had heard that very early on she showed that she didn't want to remember any of the people from before she became successful and famous .
I don't know if it's true but I remember some years ago someone who had been involved with her saying after she made it big we were all so glad and we used to work with her and we went backstage to meet her and she acted like she didn't even know us or something like that .
The woman said it was very hurtful .
I always liked her I always loved her beautiful Songbird voice and didn't want to believe that she could be nasty .
I hope she's not a hardcore zionist ( some of those people can be pretty nasty as I have had my own experiences with them ... they were pushy and rough around the edges ) .

I remember being so thrilled with this...because my whole fandom with her, since I discovered her as a kid in the 80s, I wondered why she could never be married. It just made me feel sad for her....that she had this entire volume of talent and this world she had, but nobody to really share it with. She is positively glowing here, and they’ve now been married for 21 years. And still madly in love, to hear her say it.
I wish I could have experienced the support and love of a man in my life like this. Tears fall. She has the best life ever.

I think for any relationship to be successful each person (regardless of perceived power balance/inbalance) needs to be a secure fully self actualized individual. We all bring something to the table :)

I think she is more beautiful at this stage of her life than any other. Her face glows and her eyes are so open. She has really grown into herself and turned out to be a very handsome, middle-aged woman. I know she did years of psychoanalysis and worked through much of the deprivation and trauma of her childhood. Since so much pleasure, beauty, entertainment, etc. has been channeled through her to others, I'm so glad she is now able to receive and experience happiness and fulfillment in her own life. Thank you Barbra. Thank you God for Barbra.

I applaud Brolin for not being easily intimidated or controlling. Barbra must have encountered so many men that were like that , in "Hollywood", and thought she would never find a good fit.
So happy that, as the result of life experience, time, and diligent work, Barbra has gotten sufficiently past the critical, evaluative, compulsively scrutinizing "voices" within her to really appreciate herself and life for all the "wins" "losses", getting it right, and flaws. I think she is enjoying a fuller experience of life which shows on her face. She is just more comfortable in her own skin. Period.
Hopefully true for all of us, time and age itself helped her with this process as she began to realize and face her own mortality and got that she'd better get on with it as time is running out.

I really hate Barbara Walters. I am comparing this interview to the one she did with Michael Jackson. Here she is NICE and RESPECTFUL. So far no negativity. With Michael almost the entire interview was shitty and mean spirited. Bringing up his "weirdness", his "clothes", everything. He was a musical genius. There were so many things she could have asked him about but she didn't. The only real stuff was when she asked him about being a father. Therefore, when interviewers were like that with him he was so different. That is when he did indeed seem somewhat strange and really eccentric. When interviewers were decent and respectful he acted very differently. Anyway she is just a typical phony media hack in my opinion.
