At 5 min. 6 sec. The "gunslinger" (closest) was definitely right handed. In fact he has 2 right hands. A real disadvantage... unless of course, you were "right handed".

The thing you have to remember about any story involving Wyatt Earp or his brothers that Wyatt didn't die until 1929, outliving pretty much everybody else involved. That means that those stories might be slanted just a bit, therefore requiring the application of a rather hefty grain of salt to those stories

'Handful'??? Duels happened more often than many people know, we only hear about the famous shootouts. As far as a shootout at high noon? Yeah, that's more myth than truth-though it happened on occasion.

The narrator alleges, without evidence, that Wyatt Earp's reason for the OK corral showdown was personal due his varied investments of the town of Tombstone,(stakes in the Comstock mine and Oriental hotel). The fact of the situation was that Earp was a deputy sherriff in the town and had invoked a town ordinance that guns were not to be worn within city limits, supported by the mayor and town council in order to supress gun violence by drunken cowboys who often rode oughshod over the citizens hoping for a more peaceful environment for their families growth. The showdon was orchestrated by the cowboys led by the Clanton and McLaury cowboy clans, who sent an unequivocal message for the showdown to the Earps' that they were waiting for him at the OK corral. Earp was a representative of the law of Tombstone. His choice was to accept the challenge, or resign as deputy sherriff. Historically it is probable that upon arrival Wyatt supported by his brothers and Doc Holliday instigated the gunfire when the cowboys refused to drop their weapons and face arrest for wearing firearms within city limits.

A good book to read about the real wild west, W S Hearts autobiography (1929 ) he was there and a stickler for realty . Actually gave up making films in 1926 because of Hollywood`s indifference to reality.

The narrative was fantastic. This is probably the most accurate description of the real old west I've ever heard. But people like to pretend and nothing sells like a good lie.
With the length of some of the barrels on these revolvers, I'd like to see the guy on horseback with those weapons holstered. Also noticed a few of them rode in on their Ford 4X4's.😊

If you scan these pictures carefully you will find people with 2 right hands and colt revolvers with 8 rounds, Peoples hands wrapping all the way around the grips. A lot of AI has been used , so don't believe what you see at first glance

Where did the bullets go when the gunslingers missed? The streets and bars( according to Hollywood) every gun fight had people standing around watching.
That's one of the things I liked about Tombstone. That fight between Doc and Ringo, was closer to the real events. The loser almost always had powder burns on their clothing. As good as he was in accuracy, Eastwood didn't get it right.

Yes ironically ( I would imagine) from old silent films. Gary Cooper made a T V prog. in around 1960 called " The Real West " I remember watching it with my Dad and one thing stuck in my mind , was what he said about guns and that was, that most folk could not afford them, they were to expensive and if they did have a gun, it would be more than likely a rusty old shot gun .So it looks like this video, in its own way, is just as inaccurate, as Hollywood would have us believe
Also I would like to point out , that in the 19th century , you would never see a woman sitting astride a horse, ALWAYS! a side saddle, It just did not happen!

At 3:52, gun barrels ar misaligned with the guns they are supposed to be attached to. Also, notice the signs in any frame with writing. Not at all a recognizable language.

Skeeter Skelton who looked at a great many real cowboy revolvers stated everyone of them had marks on the butts from driving Fence Staples and marks on the barrels and ejectors from knocking fences loose from the staples.

There does not appear to be much English writing written outside the bar rooms or businesses and look at the size of guns the ladies are carrying in 15:50 The first ladies rifle is over 5 feet tall also look at the size of their hands which are wax looking ? Indeed, but you have to sell cars and soap on TV. If the violence was rare, then how did the honchoes of those times manipulate situations to their advantage? After all, the ranchers and farmers were likely up to their eyebrows in debt and the banks wanted their money back, with a reasonable interest rate, naturally. The real growling and snapping might have gone on in the back rooms of banks.

The gunfight at the ok coral was over in a minute and dozens of shots were fired including shotguns used on the Earp side. Only two men died You got shot at point blank range and by half a dozen bullets. It wasn't a fast draw that saved your life but turning side on to minimize a target and taking aim before you fired.

Wow. Just wow. Lots of fake photos. AI is not your friend. Bat Masterson looks nothing like the photo presented, except for a mustache. Different body type, hat is not his favorite bowler style, clothes are of a cowboy, not his style. Lots of photos have power poles in the background. What's up with the fake old time video artifacts on the still pictures? Pictures that have no other signs of fading or damage?
Many of the images have been "photo-shopped" with respect of the weapons being held to make them appear larger than real life. The cylinders show the bullet chambers incorrectly. For example at 4:32 mins a guy holding a pistol with the hammer down which should be on one chamber (12 o'clock) another chamber would have been at 6 o'clock and the four others would have been at 2, 4 8 and 10 oclock. In this image the barrel also appears to have been sleeved - which was atechnology not used on the mass produced pistols of the era. This vdo has been cobbled together by someone with little knowledge of the times and merely reiterates what history has already dictated as being not of the myth of the west.
