I built the smaller N scale of this same kit in 1979, and to say it is a challenge to your modeling skills is an understatement. But the kit is well engineered and if you follow the instructions to the letter, it will assemble beautifully. .
I agree it's a very precise build which requires pre planning and careful timely construction.. It's a stunning kit one of my favorite from Vollmer.. Jim
That’s a stunning model Jim! Great work putting that together as it is so intricate! Nice job of painting it too and good call with getting the base, that’s awesome! Cheers, Dan
Dan Lawrie Thanks Dan..it was a enjoyable build over two weeks on and off...the add on base is worth the extra £12... Iv'e Just installed the church on the layout and added grave stones made from the card of the box the kit came in.
Hi Jim Just bought one of those kits and I am starting to build it up. As usual your hints are very usefull and your video is very good, my congratulations. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year from Portugal
Hallo Jim. Please where do I get or order this sidecutter? This tool looks really good. The church is also a great thing. The chains between the posts is a very nice detail. I use Vollmer a lot, for example the station Moritzburg 43502 and the coaling store 45720. Greetings from the Čech Republic 🇨🇿 and stay healthy 😷
Thank you for this most enlightening video! What kind of glue would you recommend for this kind of plastic? Did you use the manufacturer's recommended glues?
How do you like building kits Jim? For me its always a struggle to get started but then after a hour in i get the bug and get excited. The World Cup starting off nice for you guys so far i think this year its gonna be a 1st time winner IMO. Nice job man take care - Matt
Hi Matt sorry for late reply, Yes I am the same....I had this kit looking at the box now and again for two months then decided to get stuck in.. Yes England are doing great for such a young side inc the manager.. .they have done us proud no matter what happens😎

I always paint my kits forehand. Then I start building and use these magnatic adjustable clamps from Proses. All in all a nice how to video Jim.

Really beautiful model! Where do you put it? Next to the station? 😊
Max Supercars yes I have a big field for it next to the small station..it was a very good kit to make..
A very striking looking church. Your video runs to 23 minutes but what was the actual build time of the kit? Paul
Galgorm Hall Hi about 8 hrs to build the kit to a good standard no paint but I took two weeks on and off inc all the painting and wash effects.
Sweet, a fake plastic version of a real imaginary sky God worship place. How wonderful.
