Bonjour! Comment allez-vous? j'ai beaucoup aimé cette vidéo. Superbe! Très intéressante et informatique. J'ai aussi le TH-cam channel où je fais des vidéos de langue. J'ai aussi étudié l'anglais, au fait, je voudrais apprendre le français plus. Moi français et l'anglais n'ont pas parfait et faire beaucoup de mistakes. À bientôt Jarno
I used to talk to a Congolese priest, here in South Carolina, in French, because he was the only French speaker I saw on a regular basis. He lives in a different part of the state now, but I'm going to try to start writing him letters and stuff. Like I said on one of the other videos, I can read French okay, but I have a hard time writing it. I am really glad you are telling us to make mistakes, because that is something that I've done a lot of in my studying of French. I remember when I had a French class back in college, that's actually what I told other people to do, which my French Professor, who's actually a native English speaker but speaks fluent French, Agreed with. It's kind of like teaching a baby language, the toddler is going to make a lot of grammatical mistakes, no matter what language that they speak , it's part of picking up a language.
Funny but I knew a Congolese priest too! One of the smartest person I have ever met. Letters are a great idea, having a pen pal force you to practice to answer. And for the mistakes, I now live in Canada, in the English speaking part, and I still make mistakes every day. But I also learn every day. The important thing to remember is the ratio learning / mistakes becomes better the more you practice. Wishing you all the best Adam.
Thank you for sharing these tips. I need to be consistent, read more, and join a French group. In the video you said about your brain 'I will give him a break'. In English we don't use masculine or feminine for things...so you would use "it". But more a common way is just to say "give your brain a break" like you said at the end. Again thank you for sharing. Your English is great in these videos with few mistakes.
Omg how embarrassing 🤦♀️ it’s a common mistake for French speakers, I still learn every day 😉 I tend to make more mistakes in front of the camera though, probably because I have to focus on so many other things. Thank you for your comment and keep practicing everyday ❤️
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane you're welcome. I know I have the same mistake in French...I forget when things are masculine and feminine. I will definitely keep practicing.

Hi Dylane. It's interesting to study the subtitles whilst watching Engrenages. Even with my small French vocabulary I can spot where the translators have inserted an easier version. eg. "turn left' for "a la porte"! And of course I checked, and engrenages doesn't mean spiral. Many thanks for all your work.
Great tips, and as for practicing when alone it is very strange! I have been trying the nasal sounds on way to work in my van, I laugh because I must sound like a caveman and so so glad other drivers beside me cannot hear.... at least I hope so ;)

Merci beaucoup ! This is a big help but do you reckon that as a beginner should I or should i not translate every sentence and word and rather try to figure out the meaning myself as kids do to learn their mother tongue
I have seen mixed results with both methods but what I recommend at the beginning is to translate some part of the sentence, especially the verb, the subject and any important part of the sentence but to not focus on every single little word and prepositions. Then the more you learn the more you can translate and look into the grammar. Also it doesn't always translate correctly in English so keep your mind open that it will not always make sense. We have a lot of expressions and meanings that can't be translated. I hope it helps 😉
